Yoshi’s Island Bosses

Burt the Bashful: Burt was born on the outskirts of Vanilla Dome. He was transported to George the Goonie's castle by Kamek, who then murdered George. That is why there is no Goonie boss. He blushes so much because when he was transported to the castle, his trousers blew off. Everyone laughed at him, and Yoshi brought back old memories.

Salvo the Slime: Poor Salvo has not had a happy life. He was mocked and taunted as a child because of his unusual name, and was only happy when he became a guardian of a castle. He is quite a nervous individual, and ordered several small Slimes to fight with him because of that. Too bad they would be his downfall.

Bigger Boo: Bigger Boo was actually quite a weird boss. He managed to find a Transparent Mushroom when he was young, meaning he got bigger quickly. However, it did mean when that whenever he was hit he grew even bigger. After he was defeated, he journeyed to the rest of Dinosaur Land and took up residence in the ghost house.

Roger the Potted Ghost: Roger was a close friend of Boo's, but then Roger was banished because of an unfortunate accident involving a priceless vase being smashed. He took to haunting the vase, unknown to Kamek. When Kamek found out, he was desperate for a boss and decided he would have to do. He only assisted by giving two Shy Guys becuase of his anger (he had over 50 Shy Guys running free at the time).

Prince Froggy: Wart's previous form. He and Bowser were born together, but Wart was a bully and made Bowser's life miserable. Bowser ordered Kamek to turn him into a frog. Kamek did this very reluctantly, since he was still Morton's child. He gave the frog Wart a castle to guard as consolation. After he was defeated, he retreated to Sub-con.

Naval Piranha: Much like Salvo, Naval Piranha was taunted as a child. Unlike Salvo, it was because he had no name. Unlike all other bosses, Naval can increase size on his own, using Kamek to get a big bigger. After all, Naval Piranha does increase size A LOT. His size increase quickly got rid of the taunters...

Marching Milde: Milde was a hybrid, created between a Blob and a Koopa. As a result, she split up so much when hit, instead of just being killed. Kamek, disliking all hybrids, did nothing to her apart from the growth spells. The Koopa she was created by was green, so she just keeps walking, no matter what.

Hookbill the Koopa: This is Kamek's favorite boss. He is overly protective of him, which was why he gave him such a tough castle to guard; he was hoping Hookbill wouldn't be needed. When it turned out he was, Kamek focused completely on the defense. The reason he spat out eggs was because Yoshi was supposed to fire eggs at the belly; then they would have deflected and hurt Yoshi instead.

Sluggy the Unshaven: Sluggy was just a normal Slime in a normal castle, until he came across a Transparent Mushroom. He ate it, and did a rampage on the castle. Kamek found out pretty quickly, was absolutely furious, and punished him by giving him a large heart for Yoshi to have as a target. Not even Kamek could reshrink Sluggy, though.

Raphael the Raven: He was never meant to be a boss. The boss there originally was so small that only Kamek could see him. When Kamek was about to cast the spell, Raphael came in and killed the boss. Kamek accidentally hit Raphael with the spell, and could only watch in despair as Raphael took on Yoshi on the globe.

Tap-Tap the Red Nose: He was an unusual specimen. Tap-Tap had the choice of three rooms: a bare room, a room with an egg-thrower, or a room with lava, breakout blocks, and two egg-throwers. Becuase he saw a fly appear in front of door 3, he pointed at it, and had to fight Yoshi in a land where he was sure to die.
