Petey Piranha is like any other Piranha Plant... except he has legs, and his head looks like a sunflower. The other plants made fun of him, so he spewed goop at them. This is how Petey became a recluse.

Petey was actually a carefree Piranha Plant. One day, he decided to survey a green grassy land. That place was called Bianco Hills. He watched the strange beings called Piantas who seemed to have trees growing out of their heads. Petey liked their land, and decided to try and take it for his own. He flew up on top of a giant windmill. Thankfully, it held his weight.

He then proceeded to spew large goop balls at the village. In a matter of hours, the entire town was covered in a gross, brown, slippery liquid. Other Piranha Plants tried to beat Petey for the right to rule the town, but he covered them in sludge, and forced them to be his guards. The locales were desperate, still unsure of what caused the goop to cascade on the town like an ominous sheet. They did the only thing they could: Call for help.

Mario showed up at the scene with the FLUDD, a mechanical device with water shooting qualities. He cleaned up a lot of the goo and bested the Piranha Plant guards. Petey then decided to come out of hiding, and waited for Mario on the roof of the same windmill. He then rolled several Piranha Plants drenched in goo down the path to the windmill, which destroyed the bridge. Mario used the FLUDD to hover over the gap, and made it to the top of the windmill to confront the beast.

When Mario landed on the windmill, Petey let out a loud roar to start the battle. Unfortunately for him, the added weight of a fat Italian plumber was too much for the roof, and it broke, sending Petey and Mario into the depths of the building.

Petey and Mario landed hard on the floor, but Petey quickly recovered and spewed goop at Mario. Suddenly, Mario got a clever idea. When Petey opened his mouth to spew goop at Mario, he used the FLUDD to fill Petey's mouth with water. Petey, being incredibly bloated, fell over, since his legs were too weak to support his head and waterlogged body. Mario then ground pounded on Petey's belly, which hurt immensely, but hey, that would hurt ANYONE.

Mario did this another two times, and Petey found that it was too tough to handle. He fell over, turned to goop, and sank into the concrete floor. At least, that's what it looked like to Mario. He was actually using his goop abilities defensively. He reformed far away from the village, so that Mario couldn't get him again.

Petey took a while regaining his strength. In the time this took, he also plotted revenge. He acquired new skills so he could beat Mario. He learned how to fly (with some difficulty, as his arms were quite stubby), and how to make mini tornados.

He flew back to the town to wreak havoc again. He spewed sludge everywhere and scared all the villagers. Flying was very exhausting work for Petey, so he flew over a fence and onto an island just out of the town's boundaries for a quick snooze. It lasted longer than he expected, though.

Mario came back to the town, and learned from the locales that Petey was sound asleep. Mario tricked a strange bulbous animal to suck the FLUDD, and he filled it full of water and aimed it at Petey. When Mario released the suction, the creature flew through the air and hit Petey, right in the face. This woke him up, and he hates being disturbed.

Petey flew right by Mario. Mario got him with water, but the FLUDD had no effect while Petey was flying. He kept on going and spewed more goo everywhere. Mario climbed high up on the windmills, and got Petey while he was tired of flying. He fell down, and proceeded to get Mario with goo, and then threw mini tornados at him. Mario dodged and countered with the FLUDD, and used the exact same technique to beat him again. Petey dissolved through the ground once again, but decided not to come back to Isle Delfino. It was dangerous.

Petey then decided to go on vacation. Being beaten twice was nothing to laugh at. He then got the idea that sports might be a good idea. He tried out for tennis, but his arms were too short. He then saw an ad posted on a wall that a racing tournament would be held. He thought he might as well give it a shot, and joined in. It was fun competing with partners, plus if he lost, he didn't really feel much pain.

Petey has decided to tour the world now. Who knows where he'll go, or what he'll try to takeover next. One thing is for certain: Petey Piranha WILL return one day!
