Rhinox was a normal Rex who lived in a small village of Rexes in Dinosaur Island. He lived carefree of dangers until the day he fell in a pool of some strange liquid. A failed experiment of Ludwig von Koopa, this liquid changed his body and allowed him to use a strange power to explode anything, but he needs to lose his calm to actually use it. He discovered that when some stupid Rexes who liked to pick on him started throwing things at him. He became so angry that he exploded 1/8 of Dinosaur Island (he couldn't control his powers). The explosion destroyed his village as well, but some Rexes survived the explosion and started searching for the one responsible for the destruction of the village. Rhinox, in fear, ran away from the villagers and jumped in a warp pipe.

This warp pipe led him to Toad Town Sewers. He left the sewers and entered a dark alley, where he met a bunch of thieves. He fought them, but was too weak to beat them normally, so he used his power to wipe them out easily. Their boss was quite impressed with Rhinox's power and wanted him to be his bodyguard, Rhinox quickly accepted, since he was homeless and needed food.

Rhinox and the gang of thieves started robbing banks, people, museums, etc. Rhinox's power was very useful for opening safes and defeating cops, but one day, his boss and all the gang (except Rhinox) were caught by the police, leaving our friend alone again, but he wasn't sad; he started to live independently. He now lives in his boss’ old house, which is very comfy and located on a peaceful street in Toad Town. He got a job in Lemmy's Land as an interviewer and now he has a very peaceful life.
