Mario and Luigi jump into the painting leading to Jolly Roger Bay for a sixth time.
Luigi: So, are you sure you know where there's a Star that we missed?
Mario: Well, when we were going after the Star on Unagi's tail, I saw something down deeper. And when we were going after red coins, I saw it again!
Luigi: Okay, let's check it out!
They swim over to the deep end of the bay, and dive down.
Luigi: Oh yeah, I see it! This will be easy!
They get close to the Star, but a current prevents them from actually touching it.
Mario: Rats! Luigi, you've got longer arms, you try reaching it!
Luigi: Okay, here goes!
Luigi tries reaching the Star but the current pushes his arms away.
Luigi: I was this close!
Mario pulls out his plunger.
Mario: Use this!
Luigi grabs the plunger and is less than an inch from the Star. Mario is holding his legs.
Luigi: Al-most!
The current pushes them away. Mario grabs the plunger. He presses it against the ground.
Mario: I'll use the plunger to keep me close to the ground while passing through the current!
Mario works his way over to the current, but the plunger goes flying up. They both swim to the surface to get fresh air.
Mario: Stupid current! I'd like to see how Bowser's army got it there in the first place!
Luigi: I've got another idea!
They backtrack to the cannon.
Mario: What's this gonna do?
Luigi: The cannon will launch us out with so much force, when we hit the water, we'll sink deep enough to nab the Star!
They jump in the cannon and blast to the water above the star. They fall in but don't sink deep enough. So they swim to the surface.
Mario: Great, we'll never get that Star!
Luigi: Look, Mario, up there!
Luigi points to a platform with a green ! Block floating above it.
Mario: Great idea!
They climb to the platform and Mario hits the block. A Metal Cap falls out. Mario puts it on to become Metal Mario.
Mario: Here we go!
Mario jumps into the water and sinks to the bottom. He steps in the clam's shell by accident and it bites him.
Mario: Yeowch! Let go!
Mario pulls as much as he can and manages to get free.
Mario: Oh no! It's wearing off!
Mario runs over to the Star and grabs it right as the cap wears off. We hear the Star music.
Mario: Here we go!
Luigi is looking down from the surface.
Luigi: It's so deep I can barely make
anything out! Did he get that Star yet or what?
