Mario and Luigi jump into the Bob-omb painting again and arrive in Bob-omb Battlefield.
Luigi: So, Mario, what are supposed to do now?
Mario: Look for clues, I guess.
Luigi: Hey, Bob-omb Buddy, do you know of any Stars we need to get?
Bob-omb Buddy: Well, you beat the Bob-omb King, right?
Mario: Right.
Bob-omb Buddy: Did you beat Koopa the Quick and go to the island in the sky?
Luigi: Check and check.
Bob-omb Buddy: Hmm, did you find the eight red coins?
Mario: What's this about red coins?
Bob-omb Buddy: Oh, if you find all eight red coins on any given course, you'll get rewarded with a Star!
Luigi: Cool!
Mario: So, where are these red coins?
Bob-omb Buddy: They're all over the place! I only know the location of one because it's the only one I can see from here and I can't leave this spot. It's over there on top of those checkered platforms that go up and down.
Luigi: Oh yeah, I see it!
Mario: Thanks for your help!
Bob-omb Buddy: No problem!
Mario and Luigi run towards the platforms and jump on one. When it reaches the top Mario jumps and grabs the red coin. A 1 appears and they hear a chime.
Luigi: Hey, there's another one on a hill to the right.
Mario runs towards the hill.
Luigi: Mario, you're doing it the stupid way!
Luigi runs over to the Koopa Troopa and jumps on him, sending him flying out of his shell.
Koopa Troopa: Hey!
Luigi: Sorry, but I need this!
Luigi jumps on the shell and rides over to Mario.
Luigi: Mario, jump on!
Mario jumps onto the shell behind Luigi. They go over to the coin, which makes a 2 appear with a slightly higher chime. They go back the way they came and go towards the Chain Chomp.
Mario: There's one on his post!
The Chain Chomp lunges at them but his chain holds him back.
Chain Chomp: ^$%#Q@^$##&%@^@&@&@^!!!
Luigi: Let's get it later, shall we?
They go across the teetering bridge and into a clearing with two more red coins which they get. They jump up to another clearing with some Bob-ombs.
Mario: Watch out!
Bob-omb: Get them!
The Bob-ombs jump at the Marios and explode, barely missing them.
Mario: Go down that hill to the left.
Luigi steers the shell down the hill into an area with another red coin, a 1-Up, a ! Switch, and a closed gate. They grab the coin and the 1-Up and press the switch, which opens the gate.
Luigi: We've gotten five coins but it feels like we've gone in a circle!
Mario: Well, what about the mountain and the Chain Chomp?
Luigi: *gulp* Not him again!
Luigi steers the shell up the wooden bridge and faces the Chain Chomp.
Mario: Now!
Luigi charges towards the Chain Chomp at full speed. He jumps at the coin before the Chain Chomp can react.
Chain Chomp: ^#@%!@!^@&@!#$&*$!!!
Luigi steers the shell through the gate that leads to the mountain and goes up the hill.
Luigi: There's coin seven at the top!
They snatch the red coin and continue up the path to the mountain.
Mario: Where's that last coin?
Luigi: Probably at the top!
Mario: Look! It at the top of the tree on the floating island!
Luigi: Oh yeah! Hey Mr. Koopa Troopa!
The shell-less Koopa hears Luigi yell and yells back.
Koopa Troopa: Oh it's you! What do you want?
Luigi: Where's the brake? I can't stop!
Koopa Troopa: Serves ya right!
Luigi crashes into the wall and the shell disappears.
Koopa Toopa: Darn! He figured it out! No fair!
Luigi: So, how do we get to the island?
Mario grabs Luigi's hand and pulls him into a hole which a cannon pops out of. It shoots them onto the tree right underneath the red coin.
Mario: This solve your problem, Luigi?
Luigi: ---
Mario jumps at the red coin, which makes a high chime and an 8 appear.
Luigi: So, where's this Star?
Mario: Shh! I hear something!
Mario looks over the edge and sees and
hears a Star appearing over a
star-shaped shadow.
Mario: It's down there, near where coins 3 and 4 where! But how do we get there?
Luigi grabs Mario's hand and they fall into the hole which another cannon pops out of. It shoots them out towards the Star.
Mario and Luigi: YAHOO!
Luigi flies into the Star. We hear the Star music.
Luigi: Here we go!
Meanwhile, Mario misses and flies straight into the wall. Imaginary Stars circle around his head.
Mario: Mama mia! I mean, onto the next Star!
Mario faints.
