Mario and Luigi are going on an art tour of the castle, hosted by them. They eventually get bored of the paintings and try to think of the next prank they can pull on the other. They sit around on the first floor. Luigi suddenly gets a plumber’s blowtorch and puts a fragment of copper in the nozzle. Luigi sneaks up on Mario, and lights Mario's pants on fire with a brilliant green flame.
Mario: AWAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHOTOTOTOTAHHHHH!!!
Luigi: And to think my plan wasn’t so brilliant!
Mario: HOTHOT-
Mario grabs Luigi’s shirt collar.
Mario: -AAAAAAHHHHH!!!
Mario rushes down to the basement and enters the big Star door.
Luigi: HEEEEELLLP MEEEEEEEE!!! (I shouldn’t have done that!)
Mario is at one energy unit when he finally gets through the Dire Dire Docks portal and replenishes his health in the water.
Mario: I WILL GET YOU ONE DAY!!!
Luigi: DON’T FORGET THAT I HEARD YOU PLOTTING AGAINST ME A BIT EARLIER!!!
Mario: AAAHH! SAVE ME!!!
Mario is being sucked down the whirlpool.
Luigi: OH NO! I’LL SAVE YOU!!!
Luigi barely manages to pull Mario away from the whirlpool by momentarily clogging it with the blowtorch before the whirlpool starts again.
Mario: I love you.
Luigi: Group hug!
Mario: There is no group.
Luigi: We are the group!
Mario and Luigi affectionately embrace with joy in the fact that they have each other.
Luigi: This is the fifth time entering here.
Mario: I want a jacuzzi!
Mario, with great impulsive speed, drags Luigi with him into the second main chamber.
Luigi: Woah!
Mario: I thought there was a jacuzzi here!
Luigi: Knock yourself out. I’m going to rest on shore!
Mario, in the meantime, finds the jet stream in the center of the room and swims underwater to play with it. He doesn’t notice clear water rings rise around him, but he suddenly notices a number 5 and then a Star appear at the bottom, which he can’t reach.
Mario: Hmm, I’ll just sneak past Luigi and get that Metal Cap.
Luigi notices Mario swimming towards the Metal Box (note the author hates the Xbox). Luigi races to get the cap, but they both break the box at the same time, reach for the cap, and rip it in two. They don’t notice and put the half a cap on their head. Neither notice that they aren’t metal.
Mario and Luigi: Hey! Why am I not sinking through the jet stream?
Mario: It is all your fault!
Luigi: Let’s be patient and wait for another cap to appear.
A Metal Box doesn’t appear.
Luigi: Why I oughtta…
Luigi punches Mario. They both become shiny at that instant.
Mario: Hey! Give me your hand!
Both Brothers become metal. They barely sink to the Star on time. Luigi, however is an inch further away, so when the effect ends, he realizes he is a bit too far from the Star, and is only going further.
Luigi: Mario! Get it!
Mario touches the Star and does the Star Dance underwater.
Luigi: On to the next Star!
Mario: Here we go!
The Marios are teleported back to the
castle.
