Mario and Luigi are sitting around doing nothing in particular when Mario jumps to his feet.
Mario: C’mon! Let's-a go for a swim!
Mario tosses Luigi into the rippling blue portal to Dire, Dire Docks.
Luigi: AAAHHHHHHH!!! NEXT TIME, WARN ME, AS I WAS GETTING SOME SLEEP!
Mario: Wait a minute, did you just say King Boo was here?
Luigi: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Mario: D’oh! I’m sorry, that was a stupid fortuneteller. So, let’s-a go!
The Brothers, for the sixth time, fall immediately into a deep pool with a whirlpool at the bottom.
Mario: Okay, Luigi. This time we both go through the tunnel.
Luigi: Whatever, but I don’t want to stay in much longer since I’m cold!
The Brothers swim through the tunnel. After many minutes of searching and coming up for air in the separate chamber, they find a Star in a cage and return to shore.
Mario: Yippee! Here’s the plan. I’ll swim with you and shove your thin body past the bars, and you get the Star.
Luigi: (shivering) No way! I’m not going into the water again and I won’t listen to you AND I AM GETTING HYPOTHERMIA!!!
Luigi is at one energy unit left. He doesn’t notice Mario suddenly finding a Metal Cap and Vanish Cap nearby behind some fences.
Mario: Aw, poor baby brother, NOW GO GET IT! (You can do it!)
Mario equips Luigi with the caps. Luigi becomes grayish transparent.
Luigi: (jumping) Woohoo! I AM READY TO GO!
Luigi dives into the water and moonwalks the whole way through the cage when his caps wear off.
Luigi: *choke, swallow, glub* Must… get… Star…
Luigi touches the Star, and somehow does the Star Dance underwater.
Luigi: On to the next Star!
Mario: Hmmm… Did he get- WAH!
Mario and Luigi are whisked back to
the castle in the blink of an eye.
