Hello, folks! This Fun Fiction, The Attack, is the first "book" of a series in Tek's Yoshi Station (check it out in Lemmy's Links!) called The Flame Forger Series. It's a different variation of Tek's Yoshi Heroes, but it's in the point of view of my characters. Of course, if you want bios on these characters, you've got to go to the Yoshi Station. You can say I'm giving you another, er, "sample" from our site. Well, for now, enjoy!
Chapter 1: New Plans
Kalcia grinned to herself. She was a Koopa Mage, advisor to Bowser himself. She wore a purple robe.
She was in her room, which was something like a laboratory. She was sitting in a metal chair and was looking over her massive spellbook. She was reading a spell (obviously):
Created from darkness,
Power, and rage,
And also by the wand
Of a great Koopa Mage.
A demon, most powerful,
Who truly can't be matched,
Summoned by evil, and
Now it shall be hatched!
Kalcia stood up. Her hand reached for her wand, but then the doorknob moved! Kalcia shut her book and opened the door to reveal a red Yoshi with a red Koopa shell on. He had flaming skin, shiny orange shoes, and yellow, fluffy wings.
Red Yoshi: Yo, Kalcia! I came by to talk to ya about a plan to defeat Mario...
Kalcia: Mario? Yeah, sure, come in, Foshi...
Foshi sat down in the chair Kalcia was sitting in earlier. He leaned back luxuriously. He noticed the book.
Foshi: (flipping through the book) Suppose you've got some other plan, huh? I mean, you didn't seem all that happy when I walked in...
Kalcia grabbed the book.
Kalcia: 'Course not, idiot. I would have told Bowser, and he would have told the rest of us. You know how it is...
Foshi glared up at Kalcia.
Foshi: Ha, don't bet on it. But I'll bet that you're planning something else, huh?
Kalcia: Get out of here, moron! This is my private room, anyway!
Foshi: Oh, really? You've let me in before...
Kalcia took out her wand.
Kalcia: Out, now! Before I blast ya!
Foshi was not the least bit frightened, but stood up, smiling and waving a finger.
Foshi: Ah, now we're getting somewhere! No one ever knew you had a wand.
Kalcia: I'm warning you, Foshi! One more word from you, and-
But before Kalcia finished, she found Foshi's fire sword underneath her chin.
Foshi: Actually, my little Mage, I'm afraid you'll be executed if you try shooting off that wand. Sit down, and tell me what you're trying to do.
Kalcia gulped, then cursed under her breath as she walked over to her seat and sat down. Foshi watched her carfully. Then he pulled up a chair and sat down with her.
Foshi: So, what were you doing before I came in? Huh?
Kalcia: Looking up a new spell... to use on Mario!
Foshi: Oh, really? The only spells you would do on him is blast him with some dark beam, hypnotize him, or make yourself invisible! Why would you possibly look up new spells? I want the truth!
Kalcia: You can't handle the truth!
Foshi: (leaning forward torwards Kalcia) Really? Try me.
Kalcia sighed and opened the book to the spell she was looking at before and pushed it torwards Foshi
Kalcia: Alright, you want the truth, fine! I'm going to attack my brother, Kamek, with that spell, on page 500.
Foshi started to read the spell. He raised an eyebrow, then his eyes widened.
Foshi: Kalcia! You're going to summon a demon to kill Kamek?! That's treason!
Foshi got up.
Foshi: Bowser's going to hear about this!
Kalcia: Are you kidding? Bowser will never believe you, especially since I'm so "loyal" to him!
Foshi: Well, I'll just tell your brother and see what he thinks! He'll believe me, for sure!
Kalcia: No! You... you... Yoshi! Don't tell him, that blundering excuse for a Koopa Mage!
But Foshi never heard. He was out the door before Kalcia could object.
Kalcia: Huh, fine... I'll release this demon into some real important place, and Kamek and maybe even that Foshi will be sent to get him on our side. Then, BOOM! The demon will kill them, and also the inhabitants there! It's a perfect plan! Heh heh... maybe even that Mario moron will be called in, but that demon will be unstoppable! Ha ha ha ha! And then, I'll tell Bowser it was all my plan, but that the death of Kamek and Foshi was unintentional. He'll make me Head Koopa Mage for sure! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha cough wheeze...
***
Kamek: Ah, so my sister is planning to kill me...
Foshi: It's true, sir. I was just talking with her.
Foshi was in Kamek's room. It was very much like Kalcia's, but the walls were made of brown stone. Also there was a silver mirror in the back of the room, hanging from the ceiling.
Kamek: No surprise. I haven't seen her in years, nor have I heard from her. I will handle this. You've done the right thing.
Foshi: Thank you, sir.
Kamek: I'm glad you've come, because I have important imformation for you, Foshi.
Foshi: Whoa, really?
Kamek: Yes. First, I would like to pronnounce that you are now a Koopa Mage!
Foshi: A Mage?! Cool! Do I get a robe and a hat?
As Foshi spoke, Kamek pulled out a bright red hat and robe from a closet. Foshi grabbed the robe and hat and put them on. The robe had two holes in the back that let Foshi's wings come out.
Kamek: I had a feeling this day would come... my sister once had a vision that a Paratroopa that looked like a red Yoshi would come and become a Koopa Mage. He would go on a great quest...
Foshi: What quest do I have to go on, sir?
Kamek: Well, I just recieved word from a black Yoshi named Sniper that three "Yoshi Heroes" are going to come here by some spaceship and attack us. They come from the Palace of Power, led by that Imposter Stan. Sniper said, however, that I must lend him my power. He may think he's slick, but I've got a plan. Instead of sacrificing my power, I will let you work with him.
Foshi: Work with him? No way, josè. I work alone...
Kamek: Listen to me! If he wants my power, then let him have it. You will send him this bag of potions, along with my wand. Ah, but when night falls, steal them back and use this certain one (pulls out a beaker of green potion) on his crystal ball, up in the castle's tower. Then, get out of there! The ball will explode by morning, and that explosion will transform his mind. He will finally be able to rejoin Lord Bowser. Meanwhile, you'll head for the Palace of Power. Your invasion is completely up to you. Take several Paratroopas to help you. Whatever you do, don't get captured, my boy. We'll need you.
Foshi: Whoa... this is a big task I've got here, but don't you worry, Kamek! I'll see I give this Sniper pal what he deserves. But, what if-
Kamek: You become partners with him? Don't. Listen, after Sniper, I would recommend you find the three Yoshi Heroes. They'll fly in a spaceship known as the Hologram. There's a yellow Yoshi, who is a scientist. Don't be fooled by his looks. He is the only one without a rival. There's a red Yoshi who wears many guns and a cowboy hat, rival to Sniper. And there's a blue Yoshi with shades and wings like yours. His airial skills are top notch, and can only be matched by his rival, Comet.
Foshi: Hmmm... this scientist guy... if he has no rival, I guess I'll be his! I'm no look-alike, but I guess I'll do! What's this guy's name?
Kamek: He is... Tek Station...
Foshi: Well, I suppose I'd better get going! No time to lose! I'll just get those Paratroopas and be on my way!
Foshi grabbed the bag of potions out of Kamek's hand and left the room quickly. Before Kamek could say a word, the mirror flashed and showed Sniper's face.
Sniper: Well, I've done my half of the deal, Kamek. Now, where's my pay?
Kamek: Calm down, dark one. I am sending a Koopa Mage of mine to bring you my most valued potions. Do not be fooled by his Yoshi face.
Sniper: Huh. Really, Kamek, I wasn't expecting potions as power...
Kamek: My wand and spellbook will also be given to you. How's that?
Sniper smiled wickedly.
Sniper: Well, old Koopa, for a follower of Bowser, you sure are useful for something. This spellbook...
Kamek: All my prized spells. To a Koopa Mage, the wand and spellbook is true power.
Sniper: Well, if this mage of yours actually comes by, I'd say it's a deal. Although I'll never join your alliance, you've done a great job.
Sniper's face disappeared from the mirror.
Kamek: Ah, but you'll be at our welcome mat before you know it.
Kamek and Sniper laughed, both proud of the trick they had pulled off. But both would soon see who had the last laugh...
Chapter 2: Foshi's Attack
Foshi stood by the armory, watching his Paratroopas get equipped. He had all he needed, but borrowed some from the armory- red plates under his robes. But that was all he needed- he had his hat, his robes, his shoes, his shell, his staff, and his sword. Finally, the last Paratroopa left the armory, equipped with bulky armor and a saber.
Foshi: Joshua! You wear all that, and there's no way you'll be able to lift off the ground!
Joshua groaned and reentered the armory. Foshi slammed the door to the armory shut.
Foshi: (to other Paratroopas) We can do without one less Paratroopa. Now, we've been wasting time! We've got to get going, and now. You guys hear me?
Paratroopas: Yes, SIR!
Foshi: Right! Let's move out, guys!
Kalcia rushed in suddenly.
Kalcia: Foshi! Where are you heading?
Paratroopa: To Sniper's For-
Foshi quickly put his hand over the speaker's mouth.
Foshi: No, dummy! Kalcia's going to follow us and help Sniper! She's a traitor!
Kalcia: Oh, do you believe this rookie? He's the traitor, a spy!
Foshi simply pushed Kalcia aside. The horde of Paratroopas followed Foshi as he lead them out the door.
Kalcia: (after everyone was gone) Well, at least I know where they're going. Let's visit this Sniper fellow...
Kalcia took out her wand and tapped a part of the wall with it three times. The wall slid open to reveal a broom closet. Kalcia plucked a broom from the closet, hopped onto it, and flew out the window.

Lioshi: That wasn't a Yoshi, Zelda...
Atop the glowing cloud that was considered as Yoshi Heaven Haven, Lioshi stood on the edge with Zelda. The girls saw something, but were not quite sure what it was. Behind them, two huts and a big ice castle stood.
Zelda: Dummy! I'm positive I saw a winged Yoshi followed by Koopas. If we're gods, we'd be savin' that Yoshi, right?
Lioshi: Well, if it were a Yoshi. But I'm sure you were just seeing a bird...
At that moment, Ioshi came out of her castle.
Ioshi: Girls! Come inside, please. There's something I think you should see.
Zelda moaned as she and Lioshi headed inside Ioshi's castle. Ioshi led them into her inner chamber, where her ice ball stood on a table. There seemed to be something going on inside it.
Ioshi: There seems to be a fight between two Yoshis here. They are using the same swords. I'm very interested about them.
Zelda: Cool! A fight!
The three Yoshis peered into the ball. There was a blue Yoshi and a red one. The blue one had on a helmet with shades and wings. The red one had a cowboy hat on and a belt with guns. Both wielded a crystal sword.
The red Yoshi charged at the blue one, his sword leading the way. Zelda had expected the blue Yoshi to leap to the side, but instead he jumped forward, right over the red Yoshi's head. Now the winged one was in a defense position just as the cowboy Yoshi thrusted his blade behind from under his arm. The blue Yoshi quickly deflected the attack to the side and retaliated by swinging at the red Yoshi's head. However, this was also deflected.
Now the red Yoshi spun around and fiented an upward thrust but came in with a low sweep. The blue Yoshi must have predicted this and countered by jumping straight up and kicking at the red Yoshi's head. The red Yoshi rolled only once, then jumped back up and charged at the winged one with a powerful two-handed upward swing. The blue Yoshi moved to parry and the two swords clashed into each other with a flash of sparks.
The three goddesses gasped in horror to see a single sword whirl through the air, then embed itself into the ground. It was far away from the two swordsmen.
The cowboy Yoshi smiled to himself as he moved in to apply the finishing blow. Then, a quite unpredictable move happened: although the three goddesses didn't know how, the blue Yoshi had grabbed his opponent's sword hand quickly and flipped him over. He was holding the other Yoshi's sword. The ice ball blurred and the scene was soon out of sight.
Zelda: Those Yoshis... hey, I think I know who they are!
Ioshi: Really? Who?
Zelda: Well, the winner there is Concord, and the loser is Quickshot. I remember those guys from the Fabul Martial Arts School.
Lioshi: Fabul?! You mean you went to Fabul, the famous mar-
Zelda: Yeah, yeah, I did. By the by, that thing we saw out there was a winged Yoshi.
Lioshi: Grr...
Ioshi: Girls, please. I think these Yoshis are somewhere near the Palace of Power. Perhaps we ought to take a visit there.
Zelda and Lioshi: Alright!
****
Foshi: Outta the way, I need to see your superior!
Foshi pushed his way through the thick crowd of Shy Guys. Suddenly, they cleared the room and left through a doorway. A "red carpet" seemed to go through the doorway. Foshi suspected this was the throne room and walked through it with his army.
There was a row of Shy Guys on each side of the carpet. Foshi could see that, at the end of the carpet, was a throne. On the throne was a black Yoshi. Foshi suspected he was Sniper.
As Foshi walked in, he noticed that Sniper was watching him closely. Perhaps he was studying Foshi? Nothing of his concern, really. When Foshi believed he was close enough, he stopped. Sniper spoke up.
Sniper: I'd say you were welcome in my castle, but then I'd be lying. Where's the bag?
Foshi: (So, he wants to speak business, huh?) No small talk, eh? Well, here's the potions. By the way, the name's Foshi.
Sniper: I did not ask you for your name, boy...
Foshi eyed him angrily. Actually, he was pretending to show weakness to Sniper.
Foshi: (Let's just continue with this deal.)
Suddenly, a Shy Guy snatched the book and wand from a Paratroopa.
Foshi: (Let's put on a good show.)
Sniper: The book and wand?
Foshi: Whoa, now hold on a sec! Didn't Kamek tell you these are true power for a "Koopa Mage"?
Sniper: I already know that he sent you here to betray me. You will be under my command without wand or book. When the time comes for you to demonstrate you magic, then, and only then, can you have them back. Kamek must have been a fool to think I'd trust him that easily.
Foshi, wanting to fool Sniper, hesitated, to make Sniper think he had the advantage by making this move. Then, he agreed. The Shy Guy collected the book and wand and ran out the door.
Sniper: Oh, and I wouldn't suggest trying to steal back anything. I highly doubt that you can get past all of my traps. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you... Foshi. One last thing, all of your Paratroopas will have to sleep outside.
This idea caused commotion in the ranks of Foshi's Paratroopas. Then some Shy Guys teased Foshi's army. All heck broke loose before Foshi could control it. It seemed like a scene from a bar brawl- in fact, it almost was one, if they'd been in a bar. Half an hour passed before everyone had calmed down, but the group was still pretty restless. Now that it was night, Foshi watched as Sniper retired to his bedroom. He could tell there was a smile on his face. He was getting cocky.
So, Foshi headed outside. He flew up to the top of the castle's tower. There was no window there, so Foshi found the highest window on the tower, hoping to break through it. But some flying Shy Guys just happened to be guarding that window.
Shy Guy 1: Halt!
Shy Guy 2: Head back down, and nobody will get hurt!
However, as soon as the words came from Shy Guy 2's mouth, Foshi had burnt them both to a crisp. Foshi headed through the window.
Foshi: Now, it shouldn't be too long before I reach the top. But... where are the stairs to the next room?
Foshi turned about. There were several treasure chests in the room.
Foshi: Oh, come on. I'm sure it's not going to be that easy... hmm, I bet there's some trap in 'em.
Foshi took out his staff and tried tapping open a chest. A needle poked out of the chest.
Foshi: Ah, there's the trap in it. Well, let's see if one of these has the key.
So, Foshi tapped all the chests with his staff, until he fould the one with the key. Some chests held more than a needle, so Foshi fished out the treasures with the staff. He found several rings, of all different metals, and some with pretty jewels. Foshi placed the rings in a small pouch on his belt; they just might come in handy. After finding the key, there was one more task to fulfill before being able to escape the room.
Foshi: Hey, where's the door?
The door was completely hidden. Foshi searched about until he pushed aside a book shelf. The door was not in sight, but Foshi could see a keyhole. He jammed the key into it and the wall swung open to reveal a flight of stairs.
Foshi did not run onto the stairs. He knew he had to be careful; there just might be more traps. He was right. On the fifth step, a cord lashed out from the wall. Foshi dodged just in time.
Foshi: Hmm... I wonder if one of these rings can protect me from this trap. It's unlikely, but worth a try.
Foshi selected a golden ring that had small diamonds on each side and big black jewels in the center. When Foshi put it on, a transparent black shield surrounded him.
Foshi: Heeeey...
Fosshi strolled up to the tenth step, where another cord came out of the wall. But this time, it hit the shield and fell to the ground. With that, Foshi ran up the stairs the rest of the way.
When Foshi reached the top, he took off the ring and then had to burn the door at the top down. When the door crumbled to ashes, the room with the crystal ball was revealed. On the chair next to the table was the bag o' goodies. Foshi plucked a green potion from it and poured it onto the crystal ball. Unexpectedly, green smoke spewed out of it.
Foshi: Ack! Guess this is what Kamek meant... well, time to split! Exit stage right.
Foshi flew down the flight of stairs and out the window. As he did...
Kalcia was sent hurtling to the ground, flying through the morning sky. Two Yoshi goddesses had attempted to slay her. One of them, a yellow one, shot a light beam at her. The other, a purple winged Yoshi, had thrown a knife at her, but it missed and sliced Kalcia's broomstick into two. Now she fell through a window in Sniper's castle and thumped onto the hard stone floor. She could see a black Yoshi, wincing in pain, wearing a silver ring.
Yoshi: I will not be able to fight Kamek and Foshi in this condition. I need to lift this curse first. But who could do such a thing?
Revenge against Kamek and Foshi? This sounded good. A plan formed in Kalcia's mind. It was just perfect. She just needed to announce her presence.
Kalcia: Another Koopa Mage...
Chapter 3: Disaster Strikes!
In the dark halls of Bowser's Castle, King Bowser himself sat on his throne, with two Koopas fanning him with leaves.
Bowser: (yelling) Oh, cut it out! This castle is freezing!
The two Koopas bowed and left. As they left, a Paratroopa entered.
Paratroopa: Sir, Koopa Mage Foshi is heading torwards the Palace of Power to launch his attack.
Bowser: Koopa Mage?! I even doubt he's a Koopa! I don't trust that Yoshi- he'll just help them or slip up on the attack! Send Kamek here!
Paratroopa: Y-yes, sir.
The Paratroopa left quickly, then came back with Kamek.
Bowser: Kamek! Did you assign Foshi as a Koopa Mage?! And send him to attack the Palace of Power?!
Kamek: Y-yes, sir. He is headstrong, but very powerful.
Bowser: Grr... I still don't trust him. You will go to Palace of Power and take his place! Find Foshi and send him back here! I know you won't make any mistakes, and you are my most trusted Koopa Mage.
Kamek: Yes, sir. But then you would be interfering with desti-
Bowser: Destiny? Ha! If destiny existed, then I would be destined to defeat Mario! But it's never worked, has it? No! So don't you tell me about any of this destiny stuff!
Kamek: Y-yes, sir.
Kamek left quickly. But, as he walked through the hallway, Bowser called after him.
Bowser: Oh, and don't forget! If you fail me in any way, I might just take away your title and give it to your perfect little sister! Or worse! So don't goof! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!

Ioshi walked into the inner chamber in her castle. Her ice table was in the middle of the room, and her ice globe rested peacefully on that. An ice chair, which Ioshi plopped into, was next to the table. Ioshi then peered into the globe. A blurry image showed. It seemed to look like a black Yoshi, but it wasn't quite clear. Ioshi tried to get a closer look, but then a black fog suddenly blocked Ioshi's sight. It irritated her nose and eyes. Ioshi was suddenly very scared. This kind of thing had never happened before in her castle... or anywhere.
The fog got a little clearer, and Ioshi turned around to see an odd black female Yoshi. It was hard to see her, since she was surrounded by thick, black fog.
Black Yoshi: Greetings, wise Ioshi. I am Crystal Yoshi.
Crystal walked over to Ioshi and peered into the ice globe.
Crystal: You have great reason to spy on one so evil...
Ioshi: But, who is this one? I cannot see him, her, or it well...
Crystal: I have not come to speak of small talk, however. I have come to warn you.
Ioshi: Warn? I am sorry to interrupt. Please continue.
Crystal: There will be an attack launched on the Palace of Power.
Ioshi: An attack? Who will launch it?
Crystal: Saying names will attract attention. I'm afraid I cannot say.
Ioshi: Then can you describe them?
Crystal: I'm sorry Ioshi, but I cannot tell more. I must leave now. Remember, I have warned you...
Ioshi: Wait!
But it was too late. The black smoke filled the room, and when it cleared, Ioshi was alone. Was it true or a trap?
As Ioshi scanned the room, she suddenly
noticed a glimmer of metal. Curious, she walked over to it. On the floor
was a silver plate, about the size of her palm. On the front of it was
a gem insignia, but Ioshi couldn't tell what gem it was since it had no
color. She flipped it over. There was a signature:
~Crystal Yoshi
Ioshi: Hmm... what could this possibly be? Whatever it is, Crystal must have left it behind...
Ioshi pocketed the plate and exited the room. She spotted Zelda, who was just sitting on the edge of the cloud, staring at the sky. Zelda soon noticed Ioshi from the corner of her eye and started throwing knives at the passing birds.
Zelda: I ain't thinkin' o' nobody.
Ioshi: I didn't come here to talk to you about that, Zelda.
Zelda stood up. Ioshi stared out into the open where Zelda had once done.
Ioshi: That's quite a waste of knives, Zelda.
Zelda: Not really. Check this out; it's a trick my lil' bro once taught me that I kinda forgot.
Zelda took out her two rapiers and spun about, then threw up the short swords, closed her eyes, and danced in an odd motion: Zelda sidestepped to the left gracefully, then to the right, then made a 360 degree hop into the air, landed, opens her eyes, and caught her rapiers neatly by thier hilts. As soon as she caught them, the knives had returned to her belt.
Ioshi: No wonder you forgot about it.
Zelda: Ah, shuddap. Now what was it that you came out here for?
Ioshi: A Yoshi named Crystal Yoshi visited me and warned me of an attack that will be launched on the Palace of Power. However, this information has come from a questionable source, so it may be a trap or a lie.
Zelda: A raid?! Whoa! Cool! Let's check it out!
Ioshi: Did you hear anything else after that, Zelda? I just said that this may be a trap or a lie, so we must enter with caution.
Zelda: Oh, right. Well, you just get on your ol' birds and we'll check it out, eh?
Ioshi: That is the only way we can get there. But remember- fly with caution.
Zelda: Oh, cool! We're goin' out on an adventure! I'll get Sparky!
Zelda dashed off into Lioshi's house. Ioshi shook her head and returned to her castle to get ready.

When Kalcia had entered the room, she first noticed the lack of magical supplies that her "customer" had. If all this damage, she thought, came from just that accursed Yoshi, Foshi, then either Sniper must have a lack of security or Foshi was just good at dodging security. That was it. Foshi couldn't be underestimated, despite his race.
Sniper: You say another Koopa Mage can break my curse? You have my attention, witch.
Kalcia: That is no way to address your friend, dark one.
Sniper: And what makes you think that I will trust you any farther than I can throw you, friend?
It was obvious that Sniper said his last word with sarcasm. Kalcia wasn't here for small talk, however. She rambled on.
Kalcia: We have a common enemy, dark one. My brother Kamek and his new "apprentice", Foshi, are on my list and, if I am not mistaken, are on yours as well.
Sniper: I see where you're going. And why should I partner with you?
Kalcia: (Doesn't he get the point?) You wish to remove your curse and I do not be wish to be connected with Kamek... removal. With your skills and my magic, both should be no problem.
Sniper: ... I partner with no other.
Kalcia: No matter. I can just change your mind.
Kalcia was expecting resistance. Yoshis were always stubborn to side with her. Kalcia whipped out her magic wand, but she was too slow; Sniper's dark sword was already dangerously quivering under Kalcia's chin.
Kalcia: (Second time this happened today...)
She waited, to see if Sniper struck, but he suddenly lowered his sword.
Sniper: I have considered your deal. I accept. You remove my curse now, and I will help you eliminate the two responsible for it.
Kalcia suddenly realized a thing she forgot before and laughed nervously.
Kalcia: There may be a problem... Though I can remove the curse made by Kamek's potion, I need his rod to do so.
For a moment, Sniper was obviously angered, but the moment flashed by, and he stood straight calmly and straightened his dark cowboy hat.
Sniper: It seems that I have no choice. Is it safe to assume that you have a plan ready?
Kalcia: Actually, yes. I know as a fact that Foshi is planning to attack the Palace of Power-
Sniper: What?! He must be a fool if he thinks-
Kalcia: He is not. As you are a master of planting traps and sniping, he is the master of evading traps and sabotaging, as you have found out.
Kalcia cared nothing of Sniper's anger and proceeded to babble without pause.
Kalcia: You will watch over him with the help of my invisibility enchantment, but don't do anything with him. After he sets his traps and causes enough damage, make sure he doesn't escape.
Sniper: Two birds with one stone, eh? I like that! (smiles) Joining with you may be a good thing after all.
Kalcia: So you agree with the plan? Then we must be off to the Palace.
The sly Koopa Mage looked around the ruined tower, then suddenly remembered her lost broomstick and blushed with embarassment. What would Sniper say when she admitted that she had lost one of her most valuable items? Better face the music...
Kalcia: I seemed to have lost my broomstick...
Sniper sighed at the Mage, then called his soldiers and ordered them to ride him and Kalcia to the Palace. They obeyed without question.
***
Zelda was really enjoying their trip to the Palace of Power. Ioshi and Lioshi each decided to ride a cloud to get to their destination, a thing that they obviously didn't do often.
Zelda: Ha! You two look like Lakitus! Heh heh!
Lioshi only smiled at Zelda, shaking Zelda's insult off easily.
Lioshi: Laugh all you want, Zelda, but at least we get a free ride. You have to fly all the way to the Palace. Aren't you going to get tired?
Lioshi then laughed with delight as she sped by Zelda, who looked very irritated. Ioshi smiled, wishing that she could be be as young as they were. Zelda flew to catch up with Lioshi, thinking of something to get back at her.
Zelda: Yeah, yeah... well, you... still look stupid!
Ioshi: Don't be too angry now, Zelda. We're really almost there, as far as I know.
Zelda: Ah, really? Ya hear that, you bright Lakitu? We're almost there! Besides, my wings are sooo much faster than your cloud! Ha!
Everyone laughed and had a good time, unaware of the dangers that lay ahead of them. Even if they did know, they really couldn't have cared less.
***
Kalcia sat patiently atop a tower, waiting. Yes, this tower is pretty high up, but what if someone chose to look up at it? That's why Kalcia made her and Sniper invisable. Kalcia knew she had to be patient. But Sniper surely didn't.
Sniper: Amuse me... tell me again why we must wait up here.
Kalcia: I didn't plan on the tight security of the Palace of Power. We must wait out here for Foshi to make his move, and then we'll strike!
Sniper: Right... I think I'll take a little nap. You wake me when Foshi screws up or when you find him with your magic.
Kalcia: What? I am not your servant! Not your slave! I-
The words just escaped Kalcia's mouth as Sniper plopped into a comfortable position in the tower and fell into sleep.
Kalcia: How can such a lazy Yoshi... no matter, he is useless to me anyway.
Kalcia sat back down and began once again to concentrate on her scrying spell. She chuckled to herself to think of Kamek gone and Foshi finally shoved out of the way. Just like in her visions... she would be Head Mage!
***
Foshi strolled through the gym. He noticed a door with steam pouring out from the cracks. He decided to have a little fun and opened the door. There was a yellow Yoshi inside, relaxing. He seemed normal, and upon seeing Foshi, he trembled with fear. Foshi smirked.
Tek: Who... what?
Foshi: I'll be quick since I don't have a lot of time. I'm Foshi, and I'm here to assasinate you.
Grinning from ear to ear, Foshi extended his palm and shot red-hot lava at the Yoshi. But it was Foshi's turn to be surprised- Tek changed into a metallic form and the lava cooled upon impact with him! Foshi boiled with rage.
Foshi: You're... immune to fire?!
Tek: My turn!
Tek charged up a green ball of flame in his hands, then shot it at Foshi with a flick of his wrist. Foshi was expecting the shot and turned to his side. Wood and plaster flew as the flame ball smashed the door and a part of the wall.
Foshi: Let's see if you're immune to this!
Foshi had already rested his hand on his sword, and as quick as lightning he struck with it. His shot was successful; while Tek jumped back, he noticed a thin line of blood spanning from his elbow to his wrist. Foshi smirked once again, realizing that Tek's metallic skin reflected elements, but not enchanted blades. Laughing victoriously, Foshi struck again and again with agility at his opponent, dodging attacks with ease.
Suddenly, Foshi noticed shouts from the other rooms. Back-up was arriving in the form of two Yoshis, and he'd be creamed if he had to face three opponents at once.
Foshi: I don't like the odds of three-to-one, so I'll let you live... for now. Watch your back! Heh heh!
Tek: You! Why-
Before Tek could reply, Foshi removed a potion from the pouch at his side He took a quick swig from it, then disappeared before Tek's eyes. He reappeared in the courtyard, which was now empty since everyone was inside the Palace. It was a perfect hiding place! Chuckling to himself, Foshi approached a shadowy corner and sat down in it. Foshi decided to contact Kamek and pulled out what appeared to be a small hand mirror. Then, thinking hard, he decided to slip on a small ring, just for protection, in case anyone was watching him.
Foshi: Kamek! Kamek, can you hear me? It's me, Foshi! I-
Suddenly, a gun shot echoed around the courtyard. Foshi felt a bullet go through the protected hand and the mirror, shattering it. Foshi dropped the broken mirror and cursed silently to himself, then waved his hand in front of his face. He did this to activate the ring, which healed the wound in his hand. After feeling instant relief, Foshi removed the ring from his hand and placed it back in the pouch.
Foshi: (muttering) Better get out of here- somebody's watching me!
Foshi ran back into the Palace hastily, only leaving the broken mirror behind.
Up in Sniper and Kalcia's hiding place, the two villians inspected the scene they had caused.
Sniper: We must flee this place, it will soon be swarming with guards!
Kalcia: No, let's stay and watch. My spell will still hide us from sight, but now everybody heard where Foshi was hiding. This could get interesting...
Kalcia felt that Sniper agreed with Kalcia's idea. Suddenly, a vision formed in her mind. The vision was blurry, but it surely meant something. Something was not right.
Kalcia: Wait, I feel something happening...
A blue-clad figure arrived in the courtyard. He opened a door that was not there before and slammed it behind him. Kalcia instantly recognized the figure and screamed at Sniper with rage, pointing at the figure.
Kalcia: It's Kamek! Shoot him! Shoot him!
Sniper: ... One shot... wait...
Sniper froze in his position, as if in an inner struggle. Kalcia stared at him impatiently and waited for Sniper to pull the trigger. Sniper only muttered two words.
Sniper: The curse...
Kalcia: Oh, you weak-willed fool! No matter, I had a special plan for my "dear brother"!
Without hesitation, Kalcia pulled her
magic wand out from under her robes. She grinned to herself as she chanted
a spell she had memorized back at the castle:
Created from darkness,
Power, and rage,
And also by the wand
Of a great Koopa Mage.
A demon, most powerful,
Who truly can't be matched,
Summoned by evil, and
Now it shall be hatched!
Kalcia grinned evily as flames licked the end of the of wand, then a pure red bolt of lightning shot from it and struck very near to where Kamek stood.
Sniper: You missed! That was a terrible shot!
Kalcia, who sensed the death of Kamek, was so excited that she giggled like a human girl, very unlike her own nature.
Kalcia: Just watch!
The spot where the lightning hit turned bright like a blanket over a flashlight. Cracks formed on this glowing spot, and then the whole island trembled violently. More cracks sprouted and widened until it threatened to burst. Then, in a bright flash of light and flame, it did. Kamek protected himself with his magic as rocks and firestones shot from the circular hole now in the ground.
Out of the hole crawled a creature of pure darkness, pure evil, pure power. A demon, a spawn of the abyss, leaped out the hole, which slammed shut behind him. The 14-foot monster composed of toughened muscles, swords for claws, crowned with sharp horns, and shining with light-draining dark skin, stood before Kamek in full fury. Kamek quivered under his shadow.

Zelda had sped ahead of Ioshi and Lioshi now that they were in the Palace. She searched the hallways, flying at top speed. Around the corner, she spotted another winged Yoshi like her. The first thing in her mind was that traitor, Foshi, and she charged at the victim with two outstreched rapiers and no mercy. She clashed with the opponent, her swords parrying a beautiful broad blade. Now that she was up close with the opponent, Zelda identified her target: a blue Yoshi with shades, a helmet, and bright white wings.
Concord: Zelda?
Zelda: Concord?
The two Yoshis backed away from each other, somewhat confused. Ioshi and Lioshi caught up with Zelda just as a yellow Yoshi with glasses and a steel saddle and shoes and a red Yoshi with a cowboy hat caught up with Concord, both males. The male yellow Yoshi saw Lioshi and gulped down the last of a sandwich and soda with a lap of of his tongue.
Ioshi: Zelda, are you all right?
Red Yoshi: Concord, what's going on here?
Zelda took stock of the situation and replied without thinking in her normal voice and tone.
Zelda: I tracked Foshi around here. I saw your wings and struck without thinking.
Concord: Foshi? I heard of a red Yoshi with yellow wings was attacking, and I too struck without thinking.
Zelda: Yeah, that's him alright. (laughs) It's good to see you again, Concord. It's been so long. You too, Quickshot.
Quickshot: Excuse me? Hey, Blue, you gonna introduce you to your girlfriends?
Lioshi and Zelda: Girlfriends?!
Ioshi: Calm down, you two. I am Ioshi, behind me is Lioshi, and you've met Zelda already.
Concord: I am Concord, my sharp-mouthed friend is Quickshot, and over there is Tek.
A loud rumble echoed through the halls.
Lioshi: Sounds like it's coming through the courtyard!
Quickshot and Zelda: What're we waiting for? Let's go!
The two Yoshi glared at each other in amusement for a second before the two groups headed out to investigate the disturbance. As they passed a large open window, they saw the source of the rumble in question: a large, black demon raking at a nearby tower. The damage was incredible! The tower couldn't seem to take much more of the attack.
Zelda: Big and ugly is mine!
With that, Zelda launched out of the open window and flew torwards the large demon.
Concord: Wait!
Concord also launched out the open window and flew after Zelda. Ioshi eyed Zelda nervously as Quickshot pulled a long rope from his saddle and tied one end to a nearby pillar.
Quickshot: We gotta help 'em, right? I'll lower this rope down the window. Ladies first!
Ioshi: That will take too long...
Tek: Unless we jump, there's nothing else we can do. Just go!
Ioshi and Lioshi started to climb down the rope, closely followed by Quickshot and Tek. When they got to the bottom, they turned around only to find that they were too late...
