Mario and Luigi enter the M on the Grand Pianta Statue. In Bianco Hills, they walk down the path until Luigi spots something.
Luigi: Mario, what's that blue-a thing?
Mario: Squirt it!
Luigi walks over to squirt the Seedy Pod, but it buries itself under the ground when Luigi gets close.
Luigi: It's invincible!
FLUDD2: No it isn't! Squirt it from afar!
Luigi backs up. When he gets far enough away, the Seedy Pod returns. Luigi then squirts it.
Mario: It's stunned!
FLUDD: Jump on it!
Mario does so and collects the coin. The Mario Bros. continue down the path and find another Seedy Pod.
Mario: Squirt it from afar again!
Luigi does so, stomps it, and collects the coin. The Mario Bros. finally make it down to the end of the path. They cross the tightrope to the other side and find a Pianta covered in goop.
Mario: Let's squirt it, Luigi!
Mario and Luigi squirt the Pinata until it's clean.
Pianta: Whew! You saved me! Thanks a bundle!
The Mario Bros. start walking away when the Pianta tells them to come back.
Pianta: Hey! Come back! I need to tell you something!
Mario: And it is...?
Pianta: Do you know anything about the Hillside Cave? You can see it from the path that goes to the Big Windmill. As you go up the hill, look right before you reach the bridge. Anyway, I was hanging out at the entrance the other day...
Mario: And?
Pianta: Suddenly, this weird-looking guy ran after me! I took off quick! I saw him bust open the cave gate and vanish inside! Yikes!
Luigi: We should go to the Hillside Cave then!
Mario: Yeah, we should.
The Mario Bros. head through the "doorway" to the lakeside part of Bianco Hills.
Mario: What's that dirt hitting us?
Luigi: It's another Seedy Pod! Let's just not bother with him.
Mario: Okay.
Luigi: Hey, Mario, I can see the Hillside Cave over there!
Mario: So can I!
Luigi: But how do we get there?
Mario looks around and sees a pole next to the lake with a tightrope attached to it.
Mario: That pole next to the lake should get us over there!
Luigi: Let's go there then!
While running over there, Mario bumps into a Pokey but Side-Somersaults onto it and collects the coins. He does the same to the one next to the pole.
Mario: Now follow the tightrope!
Mario and Luigi follow the tightrope past the Spiky Wheel, and they land on the platform after it.)
Luigi: How do we get across?
FLUDD2: Hover across!
Mario and Luigi hover across the gap to the other platform. Then they jump onto the grassy ledge. They run under the tightrope and Side Somersault to it. They bounce onto the higher ledge, where the cave entrance is.
Mario: Enter the cave!
After entering the cave, Shadow Mario steals FLUDD off of Mario.
Luigi: Well at least he didn't ge mi-
Suddenly, Shadow Mario reappears to steal Luigi's FLUDD.
Luigi: Now we're both FLUDD-less!
Mario and Luigi both find an obstacle course in front of them.
Mario: Let's cross the platforms!
Luigi: Ok!
Mario and Luigi start crossing the platforms. Luigi breezes past it, but Mario takes a little bit more time to finish. They both reach the end.
Luigi: What happens if you Ground Pound these nails?
Mario: I don't know. Try doing it.
Luigi Ground Pounds one of the nails three times, and a 1-Up Mushroom appears.
Luigi: Yum!
Mario Ground Pounds the other nail three times, and a coin pops out. He collects it.)
Mario: Now for these next platforms!
Mario and Luigi cross the floor of moving blocks. Mario goes on the left side, and Luigi goes right. They both take a little bit of time to cross because of having to memorize all the blocks' movement.
Mario: I'll Ground Pound these nails!
Mario Ground Pounds the next two nails, only to find coins. Then, they both cross the bridge with giant cubes carefully, and both make it to the end. They then cross the next two star platforms. On the second, Mario stops to grab the 1-Up Mushroom.
Luigi: I'll get the Shine!
Luigi jumps on the final platform with the Shine. Meanwhile, Mario has eaten the 1-Up Mushroom and jumps onto the final platform as well. Luigi jumps into the Shine and does the Shine Sprite Dance.
Luigi: YES! I finally get to do the Shine Sprite Dance! Woohoo!
Mario: Uh... onto the next Shine!
