Part 5: Ships, Water, and Islands
While searching for the Star Rod Pieces,
Mario, Mallow and Geno found a place where there was a tournament and the
prize was the third Star Rod Piece. After finding out that Tubba Blubba
owned it, Mario and Party signed up and entered the thing. Jolene gave
Mario a thing called Triple Mushroom Drink. After making it to the finals,
Mario defeated Roy Koopa and got the Third Piece. ???, though, has turned
Star Haven into ??? Haven. But, who really IS ??? ?
Mario and party are standing outside with Jolene.
Jolene: Thank you for fighting, boys. Mario, please give me the drink.
Mario passes Jolene the Triple Mushroom Drink. Jolene then gives Mario a Triple Star Drink.
Jolene: You'll need it for him.
Geno: Him? What do you mean?
Jolene: Him as in the guy who has taken over Star Haven.
Mallow: That guy?! What will it do?
Jolene: You'll find out yourself. Now, you must be going.
Mario: Bye!
Mario and Party leave. They go to their next path, which leads them into a town...
Sea Side Shore
Geno: Wow. Hey! You have your old item back, Mario.
Mario and Mallow: You're right!
Mario gets a Super Hammer. Now his magic moves have been powered up.
Flavio: Aye Mario, long time no see.
Mario: Hey Flavio!
Mallow: Who?
Mario: He's a friend of mine. We went to that cursed island together and found the treasure of Cortez.
Geno: So Flavio, what are you doing here?
Flavio: I began to work here in the StarLight Kingdom since my ship was gone in Rogueport. So, what brings you three here?
Mallow: We're looking for the seven Star Rod Pieces. We only have three.
Flavio: Hmm... I do recall hearing about something yellowish on an island somewheres. I was going to go check it out, but...
Geno: But what?
Flavio: Its an Island that can turn evil. Or some say it IS evil.
Mario: Well let's get going, then.
Flavio: Well, ok then. I warned you guys.
Mallow: We can take it. We've had more trouble before, right guys?
Mario and Geno: That's right!
Flavio: Well, come on then.
Mario, Mallow, Geno, and Flavio all board his new ship. But, without thinking, three Bloopers come out of the water and attack!

Mallow: What was that about?!
Flavio: Some Sea Bloopers. No surprise.
Geno: How were they able to get on?
Flavio: I dunno. They must've gotten on while I got off the ship.
Mario: Enough of that, we need to get the Star Rod Piece!
Just then, Flavio's cell phone rings. It makes a sound from Mario 3.
Flavio: Oh hold on, someone's calling me.
Geno: Ok, we'll just wait.
Mallow: I'm going into the inn. Anyone else coming?
Mario goes along with Mallow, so does Geno. They all get in and take a rest. Meanwhile...
Flavio: Yes, you called? What!? That can't be? My mate Mario is here, looking for it. Aye! The Hero of Mushroom Kingdom. Around where? The Cursed Island? Heading there? We were... Yes... yes... I'll tell them immediately. Ciao.
Flavio hangs up the cell phone. He then goes inside the inn. He finds Mario, sleeping, while Mallow and Geno are playing KoopaJack.
Flavio: We have an emergency!
Mallow: What happened?
Mario: Huh?
Flavio: On the cell phone, I was told that someone is going to the Cursed Island to get the Star Rod Piece.
Geno: Any description?
Flavio: All I got was "A Goomba with wings and feat. They say it now has strong arms."
Mario, Mallow, and Geno: Goom!
Flavio: Ummm... Am I missing something here?
Mallow: No, just get going!
Flavio: Fine, fine.
And so, Mario, Mallow and Geno board the boat and set sail for the Cursed Island.
Mario: I just thought of something... If I have to collect seven of everything, the fifth one is always in a cave or underwater or even near water.
Anyway, as I was about to say, they leave the dock during the evening. As soon as they leave, the boat makes a left, which leads them to the sea. All is calm. Soon, a mist comes over the dock that they had left. Everything is getting all quiet.
Flavio: Ok, me mates, we have set off to the Cursed Island!
Mallow: Does it have a name?
Flavio: Some people or sailors called it that name, which is the Cursed Island. But the real name of it is Venus Island.
Geno: Strange name for it.
Flavio: Aye, it sure is. Sailors are too scared and frightened to go to that island.
Mallow: I think we can handle it, right Mario?
Mario: Yes. We... HOLY PASTA! WHAT IS THAT?!
All of a sudden, a giant Blooper comes to the surface of the water. This Blooper is way bigger than the three Sea Bloopers put together. It has big red eyes, along with big tentacles. It comes straight for the boat.
Flavio: AHHH! its coming this way!
Geno: Yikes!
Mallow: Oh no!
Mario: Look out!
*SMASH!*
Flavio: Ahhhhhhh! Mario, Mallow, Geno! So something!!!
*Smack Smack Smack!!!*
Mario: Woah!
Mallow: Yikes!
Geno: Ahhh!
Soon, all three are blasted away by the giant Blooper. Fortunately, they are blasted to an island.
Flavio: Ummm... Nice Blooper?
*Smack!*
Flavio: Woah!
Flavio, is also blasted away, following Mario and the gang.
Meanwhile, back in ??? Haven...
Remember when there were those stars in Paper Mario that were in the sky? Well, they are now Black Stars!
???: Mwhahaha! With the power in my hands and in me, no one will be able to stop me from ruling what should've been mine long ago! That cursed plumber! Of only he hadn't stopped me, if only my minions were even stronger, I would've defeated anyone that even tried to stop me! Those Star Spirits, capture them into the Star Cards once again.
????: Yes, my Lord. We shall.
???: Where were you?!
????: Umm... Remember that prize in the tournament that you wanted me to enter?
???: Yes...
????: Well... um... Mario came and I was disqualified from the thing.
???: YOU WHAT?!
????: Yes but, he got it by winning it.
???: ...*chuckle* Don't worry, I've sent Goom to get the Star Rod Piece.
????: Lord Shy went along as well.
???: Yes, but they won't be getting there for long. Venus Island is supposed to be a Cursed Island. They will never get into the cave. By the way, how is "it" coming along?
????: It will be done shortly.
???: Very good then.
????: Yes. I shall be going.
???? leaves.
???: Mario... I shall have my revenge
on you...
Mario, Mallow, and Geno are on an island after the giant Blooper knocked them away. After a few minutes, Mario wakes up and walks over to Mallow to check if he's ok. Mallow is ok. Mallow wakes up out of unconsciousness and walks over to Geno, to check on him. Geno is ok.
Mallow: Where are we?
Flavio: Ugh... Huh? We're on Venus Island!
Venus Island
Geno: Wow, that Blooper must've been part of the curse.
Mario: Well, whatever it was, we have to find the Piece, or else Goom will find it.
Mallow: We don't want that to happen!
Flavio: Well, there happens to be a cave on this island. It must lead to the Star Piece thing your looking for.
Geno: Well, let's start looking for it.
And so Mario and the gang start looking for it. They then find threeFuzzies guarding rock stairs. Well, you know what happens.

Mario and Party jump on the stairs, going one by one. They then reach a pathway leading to a waterfall. There are rocks to jump across to get to the other side.
Flavio: Well, I'll be back later, I'm going to make camp. Be careful that you don't-
Mallow: Ahhh!
Flavio: Fall... down... Well, see ya's later.
With that, Flavio is off. Mallow comes back, all wet.
Mallow: Don't... say anything...
Geno and Mario: ...
Mario: Well, we know what will happen now.
Mallow: Yeah, after I tried it.
Mario prepares his Super Jump magic.
Mario: Hang on!
Mallow and Geno hang on to Mario.
*Boing boing boing boing boing boing boing boing boing!*
Mario: There we go.
Geno: Let's keep on going...
Mario and friends continue searching. They come across an edge, and another edge on the other side. At the bottom is water. Deep water. All three jump the gap and make it to the other side. They keep on going, STILL not making it to the cave.
Mallow: Mario, we're not going to find the cave! It's probably in the mountains over there.
Mario: Great idea, Mallow. There it is!
Mallow: Mario, I... Ugh, forget it.
Geno: But where are the stairs or climbing thing?
Goom: Hmm, your not as dumb as I thought!
Mario: Goom!
Goom appears, this time with hands like a Koopa's.
Goom: Like the new me? Listen, you're not going to make it very far.
Lord Shy: That would be correct!
Mallow: Um... Lord Shy?
Lord Shy: Ugh! Forget it, let's go, Goom.
Goom: All right then.
Goom and Lord Shy run off to the mountains.
Geno: We have to fallow them!
They follow Goom and Lord Shy to the mountains. Running to the cave as fast as they can, they make it there first, getting even colder and colder as they get closer.
Mallow: Brrrr! It's so cold!
Geno: Forget that far now. Come on!
About ten minutes later, they arrive at Venus Cave.
Mario: Ok, where to? There seems to be a pathway here.
Geno: Oh really?
The pathway leads to a bridge, a wooden bridge, with enemies on and off the bridge.
Mario: Oh boy...

After crossing the bridge, they come across another bridge, a silver one.
Mario: Gee, you don't see this every day. Wait, huh?!

Lord Shy: Ha! Take that!
Mallow: You cheater!
Lord Shy: Well, if you are wondering, I'm here to stop you again and Blah Blah Blah.
Mallow: Any more bridges?
Lord Shy: I'll tell you later. This time, I want my rematch!

Geno: Umm... Let's carry on, shall we?
And so, after crossing the bridge, they come across a Whomp statue.
Mario: Oh boy, here it comes.
Geno: Here comes...
Whomp: Hey you three, it's time to play the Whomp Game!
Geno: What... Never mind...
Whomp: Ok, here's hows it goes. One of you will go against Goom.
Goom comes out of a warp pipe.
Goom: Hi, guys.
Whomp: Ok, so Mario, you and your friends must defeat Goom in order to win. So... FIGHT!!!

Mario recovers all HP and is revived.
Whomp: Here you go. You won the match.
A warp pipe comes up. Mario, Mallow, and Geno go down the warp pipe.
*Guh Guh Guh, Guh Guh Guh, Guh Guh Guh.*
All three make it to the next room. The Star Rod Piece is there.
Mallow: There it is!
Mario: The Star Rod Piece!
Geno: Well, there it is. You know what to do then.
Mario goes for the Star Rod Piece, when suddenly it is snatched very quickly by someone.
Flavio: Not so fast, you three.
Geno: Flavio!
Mario and Mallow: What are you doing here?
Flavio: You fools really think I'm Flavio, the real me?! Ha! I'll show you all!
Flavio then reveals to be ????, ???'s assistant.
????: Ha! And of course, it is nice to see you all again. I have the Piece once again! Mwhahahahaha! Or, if you want it, you'll have to earn it.
Mario: Do you even know what you're saying?
????: Quiet, fool! Now, I want you to do me something. Defeat my Blooper and you will have your Piece back.
Geno: Fine...
Mallow: Bring it on!
????: ... Very well. Oh Bloopy!
*Crash!* A giant Sea Blooper comes smashing out of the wall.
Mallow: Yikes!
Geno: No!
????: Yes! The same Blooper! Now Bloopy, attack!!!

????: Are you disagreeing with what I said? I said "I would give you the Piece"! I never said what kind of Piece! Ha!
Geno: Hmmm... STAR SHOT!
Geno aims for the Blooper, which then falls down on ????, making him drop the Star Rod Piece.
????: Oggggg...
???? faints.
Mallow: Well... that was... weird... and this adventure as well.
Mario: Goom, Lord Shy, and that guy seem to be pretty powerfu. This seems to be getting serious.
Geno: Well, whatever is going to happen, just grab the Piece and let's get out of here!
Mario: Fine, fine...
Star Piece music plays. Mario walks over to the Star and it floats as usual. It spins and lands inMario's hand.
Mario has gotten the fourth Star Rod Piece, and after many battles and much searching, their journey is not over yet. Things are getting even more serious by the second. What has happened to the REAL Flavio? What is ??? planning for Mario? Will Mario, Mallow, and Geno be able to defeats ??? and ruin his plans? Find out next time on Super Mario RPG 2!
