World 3: Fire Worlds
Level 1: Mt. Rugged
Morton appears on a train heading to Mt. Rugged.
Morton: Huh? How did I get here?
The train stops.
Conductor: We have reached Mt. Rugged, everyone off.
Morton stands in front of the conductor.
Morton: Excuse me, but do you know anything about a Fire Stone?
Conduction: No I do not, but I know a friend who does. He works at the shop in Dry Dry Outpost. Head out of Mt. Rugged through the east and cross straight through the Dry Dry Desert to reach the Outpost.
Morton: Thanks.
Morton gets off the train. Shy Ranger calls him on his communicator.
Shy Ranger: Hello, Morton, I am here to tell you about your element.
ELEMENT: Fire
CRITICAL TO: Ice, Grass
WEAK AGAINST: Lightning, Water
MAGIC STRIKE: FIREBALLS-Shoot fireballs from your arms.
MAGIC WAVE: FIRE STREAM-Send a shockwave of fire.
Morton: Thanks, I got to go.
Morton starts climbing the mountain. Once he reaches as high as he can go, he finds a warp pipe, enters it, and ends up at the top of the mountain. Morton spots a purple car that looks exactly like Wario’s. Morton hops into it, and drives down the mountain.
Challenge: Survival Down Mt. Rugged
Morton drives down the mountain, avoiding Clefts, Monty Moles, and boulders. Morton is barely able to jump the gaps. Halfway down the mountain, a Buzzar starts swooping at Morton, but Morton swerves around and avoids it. Morton is able to make it down the mountain, and drives to the desert.
Level 2: Dry, Dry Desert
Morton continues to drive through the desert. He stops when he sees three figures.
Figure 1: Excuse me, we are lost.
Figure 2: Do you know how to get to the Outpost?
Morton: I heard it was straight.
Figure 3: Thank you.
The figures disappear, and Morton continues to drive through the desert, and eventually reaches the Outpost.
Level 3: Dry, Dry Outpost
Morton parks his car in front of a large house. He notices the three figures and a Koopa leaving the Outpost. Morton goes to the Outpost Store and buys the Fire Claws and Red Shell. After equipping these items, Morton talks to the item shop owner.
Mouser: Can I help you?
Morton: I’m looking for the Fire Stone.
Mouser: Well, there are many steps, but the one you need to know is to find the Dry Dry Ruins. After that, you can continue to the pyramid, and then ride to the volcanoes. The Fire Stone is in Corona Mountain.
Morton: Thanks, but how do I get to the Ruins?
Mouser: Well… I’m not sure.
Morton: Well. thanks anyway.
Morton leaves the shop, and hears a voice from the large house.
Voice: MY CAR!
Morton runs into Wario.
Wario: Hey, are you the guy who found my car?
Morton: Yeah.
Wario: Thank you so much. How can I repay you?
Morton: Well, do you know how to get to Dry Dry Ruins?
Wario: My friends, Dim, Dan, and JT, know.
Wario leads Morton to a house on the other side of town, enters it, and talks to the three Koopas.
Dim: What is it this time, Wario?
Wario: My friend here needs to go to Dry Dry Ruins.
Dan: Sure, we can help you, but you need to help us first.
Morton: What do I need to do?
JT: Our friend, Tom, was taken by three figures. Help us find him.
Morton: I might have an idea.
Morton, Wario, and the three Koopas enter the desert and see the three figures and a Dry Bones on the ground.
Three Koopas: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO TOM?
Three Figures: HE’S GONE!
Morton: Who are you?
Wario: Show yourselves!
The figures remove their cloaks, revealing a Magikoopa, a Dry Bones, and a Ninjakoopa.
Magikoopa: My name is Enix.
Dry Bones: I am Capcom.
Ninjakoopa: I’m known as Konami.
The Three: YOU MUST FIGHT US, OR THE KOOPAS WILL PERISH!
Mini-Boss: Enix, Capcom, and Konami
Morton: FIREBALLS! FIREBALLS! FIREBALLS!
Morton shoots three sets of fireballs at the three enemies. Capcom is destroyed, Konami is damaged, but Enix is unharmed.
Enix: I’m a Magikoopa! Magic doesn’t work on me.
Morton claws Konami, and he is destroyed.
Wario: I’ll take care of Enix.
Wario starts punching Enix, until he is destroyed.
Dim: Thank you for saving us.
Dan: In return, we will give you this.
JT gives Morton a red stone.
“You got the Pulse Stone.”
JT: This will help you find the Ruins. It flashes faster when you are close. When you find an odd stone in the desert, use this to unlock the Ruins.
The three Koopas return to the Outpost shop, buy three Super Sodas, and return to their house.
Dim: To Tom.
Dan and JT: To Tom.
Meanwhile, back in the desert, Wario is talking to Morton.
Wario: You’re trying to get to the pyramid, right?
Morton: Yes.
Wario: The pyramid holds great treasures. Can I come with you? I did help you beat those three guys.
Morton: Well… all right.
After searching for an hour. Morton and Wario find an odd stone. Morton puts the Pulse Stone in the stone. The sky turns black, and the Ruins appear. Morton and Wario enter the ruins.
Level 4: Dry, Dry Ruins
Morton and Wario enter a straight room.
Voice: How dare you enter my domain?! LEAVE NOW!
Morton: Uhh… Maybe we should leave.
Wario: NO! We move on now.
The two continue on the path, and enter a room with two P Wings and a long pit. Morton and Wario grab the P Wings and fly over the pit. In the next room, the two grab a Super Star and move over the pit of Spikes and Buzzy Beetles, and jump over the bottomless pits. The two enter a room with a lot of Fire Flowers, and an M Pad. Morton stands on the M Pad.
Morton: SHOCKWAVE!
The Fire Flowers all explode and send the two to the top of the ruins.
Wario: All right, let’s keep going.
The two continue on the path, and meet up with Tutankoopa.
Tutankoopa: I told you to LEAVE NOW!
Boss: Tutankoopa
Tutankoopa: I SUMMON CHOMP!
A Chain Chomp appears and attacks the two. Morton jumps and Wario gets attacked, but since he’s the Wario from Wario Land 3, he doesn’t get hurt. Morton attacks Tutankoopa. Tutankoopa rises in the air and shoots blue Magic Blasts. Morton jumps over the blasts and attacks.
Tutankoopa: YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT ME!
Tuntankoopa becomes metal and summons two extra Chain Chomps. Morton dodges the Chain Chomps, then has an idea. Morton stands in front of Tutankoopa, the Chain Chomps attack, Morton dodges, and the Chain Chomps destroy Tutankoopa’s metal body. Morton attacks Tutankoopa while Wario watches. Tutankoopa and the Chain Chomps disappear.
Morton: (sarcastically) Thanks for your help, Wario.
Wario: Whatever. Let’s go.
The two go through a warp pipe.
Level 5: Desert Pyramid
The two exit the pipe and run into a giant block with a flame on it.
Morton: How do we get past here?
Wario: Hmm… This looks familiar, like I’ve used it before. AH HA! I REMEMBER! Morton, set me on fire.
Morton: WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY?
Wario: No, I have used this block before. I need to be set on fire.
Morton: All right, FIREBALLS!
Morton sets Wario on fire. Wario runs around, and then becomes a fireball and destroys the block. The two enter the next room with a large block with a donut on the floor. The two notice a pile of donuts.
Wario: Morton, give me one of those donuts.
Morton: No way, there mine.
Morton eats all of the donuts.
Wario: YOU FOOL! Making me fat was the only way to destroy this block.
Morton: But you’re already fat.
Wario gets angry, but notices another donut and eats it, becomes fat, and destroys the block. The two jump down the deep pit, and seem to be in a graveyard. A block with a skull on it blocks their way.
Wario: Huh, I’ve never seen this block before.
Morton: Must be new.
Zombies appear and hit Wario. Wario becomes a zombie. Morton has an idea. Pushes Wario into the block, which is then destroyed. Wario touches sunlight, and turns back to normal. Morton and Wario continue on the path, and run into a crab-like thing with a light on his back.
Morton: What is that?
Wario: I’ve seen it before. If it touches us, we get kicked out of this area.
Morton and Wario jump over gaps and break blocks while avoiding the crab. In the next room, Morton run sinto a hammer-throwing doll. Wario charges into it, but gets hit by a hammer, becomes Bouncy Wario, and bounces out of the room.
Morton: FIREBALLS!
Morton shoots fireballs, destroys the doll, and climbs up the ladder. In the next room, a Clawgrip is throwing barrels down the slopes.
Morton: This looks familiar.
The barrels hit Morton, but because of his weight, he takes no damage. Morton climbs up the ladders, ground pounds Clawgrip, and climbs up the ladder. Morton continues on the path, avoids Bullet Bills, and goes through a warp pipe. Morton enters a room with a lot of gold and diamonds.
Morton: I guess these are the “great treasures” Wario talked about, but where is he?
Suddenly, Wario appears after breaking though walls.
Morton: Where were you?
Wario: I had to get to this room. Oh, and by the way, next time, you take the high way. I had to face four different-colored Ninjakoopas.
Morton: Fine! You take your treasure, and I will continue to the volcanoes.
Wario stands in Morton’s way.
Wario: I don’t think so!
Morton: What’s wrong with you? You never said you wanted the Fire Stone.
Wario: No I don’t, but I don’t want you stop the Evil Three.
Waluigi appears.
Waluigi: Me neither.
Boss: Wario and Waluigi
Morton tries to punch Wario, but Wario dodges and Waluigi punches Morton.
Wario: You can’t beat me. I’m invincible.
Morton: FIREBALLS!
Morton shoots fireballs at Wario and Waluigi. Waluigi gets hurt, but Wario just moves around fast, but doesn’t get hurt.
Wario: HA HA HA! I told you, I’m invincible.
Waluigi: OW OW OW! But I’m not!
Morton: Maybe he is, but maybe I can get him out of the way.
Morton punches Wario into the spikes. Wario turns into Puffy Wario, floats out of the area, and Waluigi follows him. Morton jumps on the blocks and into the new area.
Wario: OW OW OW OW OOOOWWWW! THAT REALLY HURT!
Morton: Hold on, I thought you said you couldn’t be hurt.
Wario: Well I… uhhh... umm- Waluigi, TRANSFORM!
Wario and Waluigi transform into a red and blue shadow.
Red Shadow: We are not really Wario and Waluigi, we are Fire and Ice.
Ice: We were called on by the Evil Three.
Fire: We took these forms to fool you.
Ice: Now, we will defeat you.
