Chapter Thirty: The Greatest Creation
MARIO
I stood poised, gasping at the abomination that arose from behind the crazed Bean. Its large, metal body rose from the ground, sand falling off and hitting the ground. It was honestly hard to tell it was a robot at all. It looked like a large, furry creature. It was spherical and had two glowing red eyes that stared into me. I could hear the whirring of its large, hideous claws. Fawful laughed insanely. "IT HAS THE LIVING!!! HAHAHAEHEHEEEHAHAHA!!!" Fawful's eyes were unseen beneath his large spectacles but I could tell they were wide and filled with glee.
I cursed under my breath and pushed Lucy behind me. "Let me handle this," I said.
I watched the robot. It stood, whirring, gears spinning inside, red eyes glowing with ferocity. But it made no move to attack. At this I was surprised. It just stood there, staring back at me. Fawful seemed to take notice of this, because he started shouting and cursing. "AAARGH! IT IS THE MALFUNCTION!!! Why does it not work?" I made no hesitation. I rushed forward, and Fawful gasped. I jumped into the air, and kicked him in the face. He flew back several feet and I grinned. Fawful got up, spat some blood, and pushed his glasses back into place. "You have the pestering... Fawful will need more of the time to get his robot to functioning... In the meaningtime, I will fight you with fury!!!"
Fawful cried out, as he pulled his robe from his odd body. Seen underneath was an odd sort of jumpsuit. It was golden and had strange markings on it. Fawful's odd antenna thing was shown and he brandished it menacingly. Fawful spread his arms to reveal wing-like structures that were fitted to the suit. "FACE FAWFUL!!!!" Before I could even wonder about the Bean's sanity even more, he rocketed towards me, flames coming from his boots. The flexible Bean kicked me in the face, and I was stunned. He had never been this fast before. Then he punched me right in the jaw, and I was sent sprawling.
I groaned. This wasn't the Fawful I had remembered. He was always cunning, but never this good at hand-to-hand combat. Something was different... My thoughts were interrupted by his rantings. "What is being the matter? Have you the exhaustion?" Fawful grinned, showing his pointy teeth. I leaped into the air, bellowing. I brought my hammer down, and hit dirt. Fawful had moved to the side. A large, flaming ball collided with my stomach. I fell back in pain, rolling to put out the flames. I got up and threw a punch at his head. He dodged and tried to hit me. I blocked and struck again. He backflipped before taking a laser and firing it at my feet.
I cried out as I was brought to the ground. The Bean man was upon me the next thing I knew. His fist buried deep into my stomach. I gasped for air as he backflipped off me and smiled. He raised his hands into a L-shape, then stomped the ground, as his stance seemed to make the air ripple with power. I rushed at him. His fist came down fast, connecting with the back of my head. I fell to the ground. That was a powerful strike. I backed up from the green demon, keeping my distance. I shot several large fireballs at him. He dodged them all and caught the last one with his hand. He threw it back and I ducked, just barely avoiding it. As I came back up I was kicked in the stomach. I gasped for breath as Fawful just stood. "Heeeheehoo... You have the tiredness already? You give Fawful boredom..."
Another punch was shot at me, but I blocked. He unleashed a flurry of powerfulm lightning fast blows at me. Eventually, I was hit. I was knocked to the ground and I growled. He came lunging for me, as I expected. I kicked my feet up, knocking him into the sky and grinning. I jumped up and avoided several blows. I grabbed his arms as we plummeted to Plit. We landed hard, me pinning him. I laughed. "This should hurt." I raised my hammer, twirled it, then brought it downwards. Fawful slipped from my grasp, spinning backwards, propelling my hammer into my own face.
It was too late to block. I was hit in the face with a great force. I was thrown into the dirt, and Fawful picked up my hammer. He swung it forward but I rolled out of the way before it could crush me. He flew into the air and threw my hammer at me, which I caught. I ran as he shot a multitude of laser blasts at me. I panted, tired, but Fawful gave no breaks. He kept on firing. I dodged and jumped and ducked. I shot a fireball in response, and charged up a wave of pyros which I unleashed straight at the odd one. He spun in the air, avoiding it by about a millimeter. More laser blasts were fired at me, and I glowered.
Two beams came rushing down at me. I ran and dodged as they exploded when they hit ground. Fawful flew down at me, spiraling. I was hit and flew about 20 feet backwards. Lucy shrieked. I looked up to see the robot had started moving. Fawful laughed in delight. "YES!!! THE ROBOT HAS THE FUNCTIONING!!!" I ran back over to where Lucy was as the robot raised a large foot. I flew up, pushing into it and capsizing the robot. It fell and started rolling... right towards Fawful. Fawful jumped out of the way, and wiped his brow. "That was the closeness..." I jumped upon the machine and smacked it with my hammer. It roared with mechanical fury and tossed me from it. I landed on my feet and tossed a couple of fireballs.
The robot jumped into the air and burrowed underground. I started to watch its motions but was distracted by laser blasts. Fawful was in the air again and as annoying as ever. "CAN YOU DANCE LIKE THE CRAZY MULES OF HIGHNESS?" I backflipped several times, before watching the robots trail once more. It was heading for Lucy! I ran, the robot popped from the ground. I kicked it in the face and it flew backward. I panted and shot a fireball at Fawful from in the sky. This was bad. It left me with two dangerous things to worry about, both of which would not hesitate to snuff Lucy's life in a second, and if I was working on one, the other would attack me while I was distracted, or worse, Lucy.
The robot came closer and shot a multitude of missiles at me. I whirled my cape, and the projectiles were deflected right back at the mechanical demon. Large explosions were seen and it toppled backwards again. I waited, poised for it to erect itself. The robot slowly got to its feet. Whirring, red lasers shot from its eyes. I pushed Lucy roughly out of the way, and jumped over the beam. "Sorry," I told her.
She whirled with frizzled hair. "Understandable."
I turned to her. Maybe there was a better way to protect her. I ripped my cape from my body and covered her with it. "Don't worry. That will deflect any projectile that comes near you."
I turned back to my adversaries. I charged a rather large fireball and released it at the robot. It connected and the robot flew back quite a bit. It rose from the ground again. I shot several fireballs at Fawful. He dodged, and I cursed under my breath. I tightened my grip on my hammer, grimacing. He flew at me again. I jumped in the air over him and landed on his head. I had struck a heavy blow. I laughed. He spun in the air before sprawling on the ground. I gasped as the robot jumped over to where I was. I jumped on top of the robot and hit it with my hammer. It reeled, hurt badly. I charged a pyro in my hand and struck the robot's body with it. It hit the ground with a loud crash.
Smoke rose from its hull. But once again, it got up. The red eyes glared at me. In my hands I charged an enormous fireball. I felt the immense heat, and sweat dripped from my face. Fawful frowned. "Uh oh..." he said. I unleashed the blast, and the two were engulfed with flame and smoke. While they were distracted, I grabbed Lucy and ran off towards Toad Town, where shelter would hopefully be provided. Fat chance.
Chapter Thirty-One: Grudge Match
Crowds of people roared and cheered on the dawning of a sunset day, accompanied by the first battle of the day. Wario and Waluigi walked out from the archway, waving to all the applauding fans. From the other side the two strange figures appeared. They were garbed in the same wear they were in previously. The host's voice rang out from the middle of the arena. "LAAAADIIIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! ARE YOU RRREADY FOR A GREAT FIGHT?!" At this the crowd roared with pleasure even more than before. The four competitors stood poised, ready for battle.
"In this corner, the two super siblings, the powerful pummelers, Wario and Waluigi!!!" The crowd cheered again as the two started making cool poses. "And in this corner... hold on, folks! We don't have much information on these two. It just says there names are Roku and Sanzu, and that they're experienced fighters... In any case, FIGHT!!!" He blew a loud whistle and the combatants approached each other.
The large man jumped extremely high into the air, which was surprising. Wario growled. "What are ya, some kinda Mario ripoff?" The large man said nothing and fell to the ground. Wario was expecting a shockwave and jumped. Though, no shockwave was created. The man landed swiftly on the ground and grabbed Wario's leg and threw him. Wario landed on his face, agitated.
Waluigi brought out a bomb, and juggled it in his hand. He then smirked and threw the bomb. It exploded and smoke was everywhere. A thin leg came from the smoke and kicked Waluigi in the stomach. He fell back, gasping. From above the steam, the deadly woman jumped and threw several pointy kunai daggers at the duo. Wario ran and barely avoided the deadly spikes. Waluigi panted. "Wow-a, these guy's are tough," he said.
Wario agreed. "Yeah, there's something unusual about them."
Wicked laughter was heard as the smoke cleared. "Yes... We are quite... unusual..." It was hard to tell who said this as both faces were covered in tape, but from the deep baritone, it sounded like the man. Wario charged at the man. He threw one of his fists at him, but he dodged it. He threw another punch, which was grabbed and returned by a punch from the man. Wario flew several feet. Waluigi took out a bunch of bombs and threw them at the couple. Several large explosions sounded, which resulted in more smoke.
The two brothers this time ran out of the fog to make sure they wouldn't get caught off-guard. As quick as a lightning bolt, Wario saw the man running across the wall. Large pyros of fire came flying at the two brothers. Wario backflipped several times and Waluigi shot a bomb at the wall, which caused audience members to scream as part of the wall crumbled. But he was no longer there. Wario heard a voice behind him. He was kicked roughly and flew far. The large man rushed forwards. He punched and kicked Wario viciously. Wario blocked and punched only to be blocked by his enemy.
Wario gasped. He was getting tired. The large man grinned. "I think tubby needs to put the fork down." A vein bulged in Wario's forehead as he heard these words. Roku's eyes opened wide as Wario socked the man in the face, sending him halfway across the arena. He got up and groaned.
Wario laughed heartily. "NEVER CALL-A WARIO FAT!!!" His eye was twitching and his breath had the smell of garlic. Waluigi laughed and stuck out his tounge.
The man got up slowly and unsheathed a large sword from his back. He raised it above his head menacingly and stared down at them with his one animal eye. "You have sealed your fate... Now I will splatter your blood with this sword."
Wario eyed the sword nervously. Roku jumped into the air and slammed the blade down hard. A wave of red and orange beams went towards the two. They ran out of the way and Waluigi threw another bomb which was sliced in half by the sword and blew up over his shoulder. They ran right into Sanzu. She sliced at them with her fan and they ran in the opposite direction. Roku went up to Wario and slashed at the pudgy man with his sword. Wario jumped and dodged, before punching Roku hard in the face. He fell to the ground and growled. Sanzu came from behind. She sweeped her fan dangerously all about. Waluigi was hit in the face and slashed slightly. Blood dripped from his cheek and he threw a bomb at the woman. Waluigi cringed as the fan slashed at his chest, and he fell back. Wario punched Sanzu in the gut but didn't hear Roku behind him. Wario jumped as the sword came near him. Instead, the woman was sliced in the back and blood splattered onto the ground as she shrieked.
Roku's eye widened. "You..." Wario noticed a wind gathering around the angered man. His eye bulged even more. His hair grew wild and out of control. His steel muscles started rippling and becoming bigger and stronger. His chest sprouted large deadly spikes and his body turned a different color. Wings sprouted from his back.
The woman got up from her lying position. "No, baby....we've gotta keep a low profile...."
Roku growled. "SHUT UP, WOMAN!"
Wario gasped in shock at this new creature that was being created. Purple flames burst from its hideous maw, which contained several thousands of jagged teeth that lay inside the mouth. The tape was ripped away from his face and his sword had split in several different directions and become many different bladed claws. The air rippled with this new power. The sky grew dark, thunder roared, and bolts of lightning flew down and hit the ground. He roared and it shook Plit with the massive soundwaves.
The host growled under his breath. "So... he is trying to stop me, eh? It won't work..."
People ran and screamed for safety. Wario and Waluigi turned and looked at the massive beast that lay before them. The large creature's talons flicked and a large tail was seen behind him.
"MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! YOU TWO WILL PAY FOR HARMING MY DARLING!!!" His massive claw shot back and crushed into the ground where Wario and Waluigi stood. They jumped out of the way. Their opponent was as tall as a lamp post and looked crazed. Wario ran up to the creature's leg and started pummeling it. The massive creature kicked at them and roared, sending the two flying. The two brothers nodded at each other and took off in different directions. Waluigi hurled bombs at the thing's leg. It roared with pain and growled. Wario attacked the other leg and the creature fell over. Wario ground pounded its belly and it roared. Wario was flung off.
Wario landed on his feet and laughed. The creature flew into the air and opened its mouth. Large amounts of purple flame burst from its mouth and assaulted the ground. Wario ran away from the deadly flames. The demonic creature held out its hand and fired bursts of dark energy. Wario ran as the blasts exploded behind him. Wario picked up a boulder. Waluigi stood on Wario's shoulders and Wario handed the boulder to his sibling. Waluigi roared and tossed the boulder at the creature's wing. It fell to the ground where Wario rushed over and ground pounded it again. It roared and got back into the sky.
The brothers tried the same maneuver but were blocked by a large energy shield. Wario cursed. The creature belted out another blast of fire at them. Wario took a piece of broken glass and held it up. This deflected the fire, which burnt the shield to ash. It growled. Waluigi once again tried the same maneuver that they had done before. It hit a wing, but the creature remained airborne. Using its remaining wing, the large beast hurtled through the air towards Wario and Waluigi. They ran out of the way. The creature returned to the sky and the brothers threw another rock at the creature's other wing.
It dropped from the sky and landed on its feet. Once again, Waluigi ran over to his leg and pelted bombs at it. The creature roared as Wario hit its leg, and it fell over. He then jumped on the creature's stomach. The creature slashed him, but Wario jumped off and the thing stabbed itself. Its eyes went wide as dark blood seeped from its large wounds. It howled in anguish as it exploded. Dark goo covered the entire arena as fire burst out everywhere, showing the results of the fatal blow to itself.
Wario grinned. "Get the lady some bandages and send her on her merry way," Wario said.
The host was puzzled. "But... they tried to kill you!"
Wario nodded. "Yeah, I know. But then again, a lot of people try to do that." He smiled and the two went back to their rooms and everyone got ready for the next battle.
Chapter Thirty-Two: Visiting Hours
SLIMER49'R
I sighed, and took a sip of my delicious mango smoothie. Me and my friends were on a large, ornate balcony in Toad Town inside a restaurant. The residents of Toad Town had to get used to me and my friends staying here, especially me, after the whole enslaving their leader and changing the whole world thing. The wind blew and leaves flew past. A small Mushroomer dressed in a black suit came up to us. Bow smiled nicely at him. "We'll have another round of pizzas, please." The waiter smiled and retreated back into the kitchen.
The smell of frying oil caught my nostrils and I smiled, looking at my two friends. A couple of minutes went by, and finally the Mushroomer had returned with a large platter of pizza. I grinned. Opening my mouth, I bit a small piece of the pizza..."OW!!! THAT'S HOT!!!" I screamed, fanning my mouth.
Bow chuckled. "I think you're supposed to let it cool first." I growled and made a rude gesture, which she returned and laughed. "Calm down, dude. Just a little advice. Doy!!!" I couldn't help but smile and laugh. I tasted my pizza again, and found it had cooled off quite much. I moaned slightly. It was excellent. The cheese melted in my mouth and I sighed. Bow grinned. "I like a guy who's passionate with his food, but jeez! Are ya gunna makeout with it, or eat it?"
I just picked up my smoothie and drank again, until I slurped up the last bit. Then I put my feet up on the table and put my hands behind my head. This had been a day to remember. I waited for my friends to finish, and then we were all full. We walked downstairs and said goodbye to the owner. "Take care, you three." I saluted him happily and we walked out into the clear sunlit day.
We watched as parents played catch with their sons, and small Mushroom children rode on bicycles. From behind us, we heard a voice call out to us. "HEY BRO!!!" From behind, I saw Brian, my brother. I had rescued him from Bowser's dungeon, and now he had been living in Koopa Village. "Hey guys. How are you doing?"
I hugged him and smiled. "We just were hanging out here, in Toad Town," I said.
He smiled widely. "Would you all like to come over to my place to hang out?" I turned to my friends and they both nodded. I nodded my head at Brian, and we started down the trail. Pleasant Path was as pleasant as ever. I remember when two loved ones would come here to kiss and so on in the light of the moon. It was quite a romantic spot at night. Only once, it had been polluted by Bowser's evil soldiers. But now, it was the definition of paradise. Following my brother, we went down the steps that led to Koopa Village.
A large sign standing there said "Welcome to Koopa Village", in big, bold letters. Several Koopas walked around and greeted us heartily. I smiled as we were led to a large house at the end of the block. It was a large, blue house with a wooden door with decorative carvings on it. Little Koopa Cherubs hung from the top of the door, and we walked inside.
The first room was large and had a big rug that was set upon the ground. "This is the living room," he said. There was a cozy, old sofa, an armchair, and a lamp, but not much else. The next one I could only guess was the kitchen. It was wide and spacious. There were large marble countertops and a large refrigerator. There was also a microwave, and a wooden table. "This, is my kitchen!" he announced proudly, although everyone probably knew that.
Then he led us into a huge room. It had a large, widescreen TV set, a stereo, and to top it off, a Nintendo Revolution. I gazed at the large room, not to mention the awe-inspiring system. "HOW DID YOU GET THAT?!" I asked.
He smiled. "Easy. I starred in one of their games, and I got this free prototype!"
I whistled loudly. "What game?"
The Koopa smiled again. "Surge On Bowser's Castle, starring you guys!"
I smiled as well, and thought that the two of us would never stop smiling. "AWESOME!!!"
Bow groaned as we talked about videogames and whatnot. Mewtwo90 looked confused. "I don't get it. What's so special about that colorful device?"
Bow looked at him. "You think I have a clue?"
Brian and I sat down and turned it on. "WELCOME... TO THE NINTENDO REVOLUTION!!!" My pupils dilated. "OH YEAH!!!" Bow looked over to see "Super Smash Bros. Revolution" on it. We sat there playing and rotting our minds for hours. "Man, I feel so sorry for the earthlings reading this now!" I said.
Brian turned, confused. "Dude. What are you talking about?"
I pondered this, and then answered. "No clue." Then, we stopped. The window shattered and bits of glass flew everywhere, covering the ground with the dangerous shards. I looked over to the window and saw several figures standing there.
They had odd horn thingies on their head, and goggles. They had a red suit with a white "x" on them. They looked at us with ferocity and said, "Surrender, in the name of Grodus."
I frowned. Bow gasped. I turned towards her. "Who's Grodus? Do you know?" I asked.
She nodded, and opened her mouth, but then fainted.
"#$#%$. What a great time for her to pass out."
The intruders jumped into the air.
I roared, kicking one of the creatures in the head, sending it sprawling. The other two approached me. I took out two swords and sliced at one of the creatures. It jumped over my blade and kicked me in the face. "Agile little boogers..." I jumped into the air and brought my sword down. The creature beneath me ducked and rolled out of the way.
Mewtwo90 joined the fray. He whipped his tail about viciously, trying to hit the creatures. They ran under his legs and grabbed them. The alien toppled to the ground on his face. Brian looked helpless, a look of worry on his face. He tried to step on one of them, but they grabbed his foot and hurled him into a wall. He got up, rubbing his bruised head. "Sorry, Miles. I'm not really the fighting type."
I grinned. "Forget about it!" I sweeped my swords under one of the creatures. I gasped as one of the creatures hurtled at me, spinning in the air. I shouted and ducked out of the way. It landed on the ground before pulling out a laser gun and shooting it at me. I jumped over his head and swiped my sword at him again. He jumped and punched me roughly in the jaw. I fell backwards in pain. I gasped on the ground, feeling my heart pound in my chest. I pulled out my Bullet Bill from my pocket. "Sorry, bro!" I pulled the trigger and several Bullet Bills came out of it and blew up on the ground next to us.
The things staggered a bit. They hissed at us from behind their strange masks. Then, they jumped on each other's shoulders and seemed to grin. They rushed towards us. I shot more Bullet Bills over the cries of my brother's "MY HOUSE!!!" They blew up next to the stack of creatures, knocking them over. The creatures then formed into a large ball. They started rolling around and bounded towards me. I ran across the hallway as the ball crashed through doors, walls, and archways, Brian screaming the entire time. I jumped over the ball and shot a multitude of Bullet Bills at him. There were several explosions and the they scattered about the ground. They got up and glared at me. "Bring it on, FOOS!!!" I shouted.
"Whatever, dude. NOOB!" the small creatures
replied, and launched themselves at me. They were odd, but
powerful. I jumped out of the way and
hit one to the ground. I grinned. They pulled small beakers from the insides
of their robes. They lifted them to their masks, and began to drink the
liquid inside. Their goggles flashed and they started growing, until they
were a foot taller than me. This was going to be hard.
~
Bow stood at the entrance of a large pyramid that stood in front of her. The angel was at her side. Bow walked in, waving goodbye to her teacher, and found herself in darkness. A red glow was seen out of the corner of her eye, and she turned only to see nothing. She turned again and saw a strange-looking spirit. A multitude of energy bolts fired from its mouth and Bow weaved around, dodging them. Unexpectedly, Bow shot forward and sliced the creature in the middle. It perished in agony, but more spirits took its place. The energy blasts followed Bow, but she floated up from the wall and sprung from it, chopping one of the spirits, and it existed no more.
Another spirit rushed her, and she ducked under its bulky form. She sliced the creature from the ground. There was one creature left, and she shot herself at it. It spun away from her at immense speeds and left her gaping. The spirit stuck out its long, pink tongue, but retracted it before it got cut. This spirit was smarter then the rest. She turned invisible. The creature bared its fangs and listened. Bow threw a small rock which averted his attention. Then she came up from behind him. The Boo princess cut his ghostly form in half. A large, brick door slid open and she entered a room with a large tomb. From the tomb, a ghostly swirl of colors ascended and a large, blue spirit was formed.
Icicle daggers were hurled at her and she sped away to avoid being struck. The creature then took to large snowflakes and threw them at her. She dodged and smirked. Bow ran forward and slashed at the creature. It growled and smacked her in the face with a watery tentacle. A blast of water was sprayed at her and she groaned, getting up. She took her sword and rushed the creature. It defended with a surprisingly solid sword of water. The creature ducked beneath the ground and came up behind her.
It put its arms around Bow and she was consumed in water everywhere. Bubbles came from her mouth, and she was running out of air. She struggled. Pulling her sword into an upright position, she spun around fast, splattering the water everywhere. She sighed. She was hit with something wet, and cursed because the creature had reformed itself. It rushed towards her and growled. She brought her sword down, clashing against the sword of water. It spun behind her, and slapped the back of her head. She viciously shot her sword at it, again and again.
It blocked, then tried to hit Bow with a tentacle of water. She cut it off and the creature hissed. She then impaled the creature once more. It writhed in agony as it exploded. She then ran to the tomb as she saw the creature reforming. She swung it open, and grabbed the blue jewel inside. The creature's remains twitched before flying into the blue jewel, which entered the golden fang...
Bow then woke up. Slimer was seen as several X-Nauts were escaping. Brian could be heard shouting about his poor house. She got up and walked to Slimer.
"Grodus. He's back."
