The Crystal Plot

Chapter 1: The Unveiling
NOTE: This is twenty years in the future. Things have changed.

Mysterious Voice Behind the Curtain (MVBTC): Now is the time to begin the plan. Everything is in place. Just one last check before we start. KAMEK!

Kamek appears.

Kamek: Yes, Master?

MVBTC: Is everything in place?

Kamek: Yes, Master.

MVBTC:  Good, good. Now is the time. I can feel it. Kamek, pull the lever.

Kamek: Yes, Master.

Kamek pulls the lever. We hear a big bang.

In Koopa Castle...

Bowser is trapped in a cage with the mark of MVBTC on it. It looks like a shiny, blue, seven-pointed star. The mark is familiar because the Koopalings battled him ten years ago, but he got away with the help of who Bowser called the biggest traitor ever, Kamek. Apparently, Kamek was giving MVBTC critical information about the Koopas, so Bowser had everyone split up. As Ludwig had said, you can't be too careful after you battle a really tough enemy who destroyed almost all of Dark Land, especially after a traitor has revealed himself too.

Bowser: ARRRGHHH! I'M TRAPPED! KOOPALINGS!!!

All the Koopalings appear.

Bowser: As you can plainly see, I'm trapped. So, I assume you know what this means. Never spread out. Stay banded together. Be ready for anything. And watch out for that troublesome Luigi.

Ludwig: But we killed the Mario Bros. last year.

Bowser: Luigi was a robot. They'd never risk BOTH of the Mario Bros.

Lemmy: Duh, Ludwig.

Ludwig: As oldest and smartest, I declare myself the leader.

Lemmy: And I declare myself his right-hand man!

Iggy: And I declare myself his left-hand man!

Bowser: Very well, Ludwig, you're the leader, Lemmy and Iggy, you're his helpers, the rest of you, don't go wandering off or plan on betraying anyone. All in?

Koopalings: All in.

Bowser: Dismissed!

The Koopalings leave.

Roy: What's that?

Ludwig: I think it's just a patch of dirt.

Lemmy: No way. It's too obvious.

Iggy: Yeah. I say we don?t touch it.

Ludwig: I say we keep on walking right through it. Whoever's with me say I! Whoever's not, say Nay!

Ludwig: I!

Lemmy: Nay!

Iggy: Nay!

Roy: Nay!

Wendy: I!

Morton: I!

Larry: Nay!

Lemmy: We beat you by one vote! We go around it.

Ludwig: I can't believe Morton didn't extend his sentence. I also can't believe you beat me!

Iggy: Morton gave that up ten years ago.

Morton: Remember?

Ludwig: Oh, yeah. So let's get on with this so we can get to the stronghold.

While they are walking around the patch, they fall into an underground jail that's fireproof.

Ludwig: I TOLD you. We should've gone over the patch.

Lemmy: Fine, fine.

Iggy: The enemy has many strengths. We can't even trust our own troops, from the looks of it.

Ludwig: Iggy's right. But we have to go to our stronghold. No Koopa Clan member except Bowser and ourselves knows about it. Agreed?

Koopalings: Agreed.

Larry: But we have to figure out how to get out of here first.

Morton: Well, we're in Dark Land right now, so we have to get to the Grass Land-Ice Land passage.

Iggy: Lemmy, do you still have your Freeze Gun?

Lemmy: Of course.

Iggy: Well, use it on those bars.

Lemmy freezes the bars, but they just melt the ice off.

Iggy: Dang!

Ludwig: That was bound to fail.

Lemmy: Obviously, Ludwig. But it was worth a shot.

Ludwig: Isn't everything?

MVBTC: (watching from a video camera planted by a Lakitu) Yes, Ludwig. I suppose you're smarter than I gave you credit for, but you can't possibly have remembered to bring Larry's Metal B-Gone, made from only the finest Fuzzy poison! Kamek, go see to it that the Koopalings don't escape. Take some Lakitus with you if they cause any trouble.

Kamek: Yes, Master!

Chapter 2: Escape

Kamek appears on top of a building to see what the Koopalings do with themselves and to make sure they don’t escape.

Ludwig: Larry, you remembered to bring your Metal-B-Gone, right? Please say "right".

Larry: No, I didn’t. But I did bring some Metal-Go-Away. It might not work because it’s not as concentrated as the Metal-B-Gone, but it might work.

Lemmy: Go on, try it.

Larry: Okay, okay.

Larry sprays the bars with his Metal-Go-Away, and the metal begins to melt.

Ludwig: Did it work?

Larry: It should have.

Five hours later…

Ludwig: I thought you said it worked!

Larry: I did! It takes five hours to work.

Lemmy: Well, it’s been five hours, why’s the metal still there?

The metal vanishes.

Lemmy: Fine, fine. Have it your way.

Ludwig: Good, now let’s get out of here.

Kamek jumps down from the building.

Kammy: OH NO YOU DON’T!

Kamek sends ten Lakitus at the Koopalings.

Ludwig: You call that an army? Koopalings, attack!

Larry sprays five of the Lakitus with Cloud-B-Metal.  The Lakitus that Larry sprayed fall to the ground and run away.

Kamek: WHAT?! THAT’S IT!

Kamek zaps the five remaining Lakitus. They grow huge and get the ability to fire huge blasts of thunder.

Ludwig: Lemmy, you’re up!

Lemmy uses his Freeze Gun to freeze the Lakitus, then he throws his ball at them. The Lakitus shatter.

Kamek: I’ll be back, you rotten Koopalings! You won’t spoil my master’s plan!

Kamek disappears.

Ludwig: Okay, there’s the warp pipe to the stronghold. Let’s go!

Koopalings: Okay!

The Koopalings jump into the warp pipe and land in their stronghold.

Lemmy: Simple enough.

Iggy: Yeah. Almost too easy. Almost.

Ludwig: Anyway, let’s get our battle plan. So, we know that King Dad is trapped by our old nemesis, [his name is blocked out, but I will tell you that he is the Mysterious Voice Behind the Curtain]. That means that he has started his plan to take over the Koopa Clan. He has all of the basic troops, Koopa Troopas, Shy Guys, Spinies, Lakitus, you get the idea. The tougher ones have proven harder to catch. Everyone, bring in all of your most trusted troops. We have to split up, but we go in twos, and three of us have to stay here. That’s our first step. We should get that finished first. Lemmy, Roy, and I will stay here. Go, now.

Morton: But King Dad said not to!

Ludwig: Well... I suppose we can go together, but what about the stronghold?

Lemmy: Don't worry, I hooked up a security system that keeps out anything that isn't from the Koopa bloodline.

Ludwig (who doesn't realize the obvious flaw in the security system for some reason): Fine.  We can go to Grass Land first!

Koopalings: Yes, sir!

MVBTC: (watching from video camera planted in the stronghold by a spy) Go on, bring in your little troops, it won’t matter. I don’t even care which ones you bring in! Just make it quick. Kamek, you can plant the spies. Kamek? KAMEK!

Kamek appears.

Kamek: Yes, Master?

MVBTC: Go plant the spies, NOW!

Kamek: Yes, Master. I’ll go select them now.

Kamek disappears.

MVBTC: The Koopalings won’t stand a chance once Kamek plants those spies. You’re going down, Koopalings! HAHAHAHAH!

Chapter 3: Decisions, Decisions

Kamek is in the spy-selection room.

Kamek: Well, I need seven spies at least, so show me the choices!

A screen comes up showing the choices.

Kamek: Let's see, there's Shy Guy, Lakitu, Whomp, Chargin' Chuck, Thwomp, a Bandit, and Paratroopa.  I''ll take two Chargin' Chucks, three Lakitus, one Paratroopa, and one... um... show me the types of Shy Guys we have!

The screen shows the types of Shy Guys.

Kamek: There's Shy Guy, Tribal Guy, a bunch of others... I'll take the Bandit!

Computer: Thank you for using the Spy Selection Screen 2.0. That will be 25 coins.

Kamek: WHAT?! Oh, fine...

Kamek gives the computer 25 coins.

MVBTC: KAMEK! WHAT'S TAKING YOU SO LONG?!

Kamek: I just finished, Master!

MVBTC: Well, what are you waiting for? GET IN HERE!

Kamek: Yes, Master!

On the outskirts of a charred Grass Land...

Ludwig: Okay, we're here. Larry, which kind of minion do we pick?

Larry: Let's take the Piranha Plant!

Lemmy: Where do we find a Pirahna Plant? Weren't they all killed?

Larry: I always keep a fresh supply of them, just in case.

Iggy: Good! Let's go!

Larry: But the warp pipe to them was broken a while back, so we have to walk on foot.

Wendy: And where is this place?

Larry: On the other side of Grass Land.

Roy: WHAT?!

Larry: I know, it's a long walk, but we can do it, as long as the bridge separating the Shy Guys from the Fuzzies hasn't broken.

Morton: Well, it probably hasn't, so let's get moving!

Ludwig: Okay! Koopalings, follow Larry!

The Koopalings follow Larry all the way up to the bridge.

Larry: OH NO! THE BRIDGE IS BROKEN!

Ludwig: So?

Larry: If the bridge is broken, we won't be able to get through without crossing with a Shy Guy-Fuzzy war!

Lemmy: I can use my Freeze Gun...

Larry: No! Then there'll be more Fuzzies and Shy Guys attacking you for freezing them!

Iggy: Can we just go?

Larry: All right...

After about five minutes of walking, they meet up with a small part of the Shy Guy-Fuzzy war. Apparently, the Fuzzies are winning.

Larry: I TOLD you we would find the war soon enough!

Lemmy: So? We can just go past it by using some invention or gadget one of us brought along. Right?

Ludwig: Well, I did bring this time freeze capsule, but it hasn't been tested yet...

Roy: Who cares? Use it!

Ludwig: Okay...

Ludwig uses the time freeze capsule. The Koopalings find themselves in a black and white dimension with a bunch of frozen Shy Guys and Fuzzies.

Larry: Okay, this will not turn out good.

Ludwig: It looks like this time freeze thing froze time AND made everything black and white.

Iggy: I CAN'T SEE MY GLASSES! I CAN'T SEE! HELP!

Lemmy: Iggy, your glasses are on your head.

Iggy: Really?

Iggy puts on his glasses.

Iggy: Thanks, Lemmy.

Lemmy: No problem.

Ludwig: You know, this won't last forever. Let's move!

Larry: Okay, let's go.

The time freeze capsule wear off before the Koopalings can get past all of the war, but they make it through over half before time starts again.

Larry: Okay, nobody move. Lemmy, you use your ball to bounce us out of here, but Ludwig, you have to make Lemmy's ball bigger.

Ludwig: Okay!

Ludwig makes Lemmy's ball bigger and they all bounce away from the war.

Larry: Okay, there's the Piranha Plant shelter! I;ll go open it.

Larry is about to open it when he sees a Bandit.

Larry: (to himself) A Bandit might be useful... (aloud) Hey, Bandit, you wanna help us Koopalings fight the guy who's trying to take over the Koopa Clan?

Bandit: Sure, I guess. But what do I get out of it?

Larry: 5 coins an hour!

Bandit: Well, I'm broke, so I'll take the job!

Larry: Yes! Come on, let's go!

In Larry's excitement, he almost forgets to get the Piranha Plants, but he remembers just before he leaves the area. He brings along 20 Piranha Plants and five of his special Piranha Plant-snake breeds. He calls it a Piranke. After Larry gets back to the Koopalings, he tells them the good news.

Larry: I got the Piranha Plants and I brought along a Bandit I found. But we have to pay him 5 coins an hour.

Ludwig: I think we can manage that.

Lemmy: Okay, back to the stronghold!

Iggy: Let's go!

The Koopalings start walking back to the stronghold.

MVBTC: (watching from a camera placed by a spy) Yes! The Koopalings are falling into my trap even easier than I thought! KAMEK!

Kamek appears. Again.

Kamek: Yes, Master?

MVBTC: I want you to go and find a ship. Preferably made by the Team of Terror.

Kamek: Yes, Master. I will go get the best ship they have!

MVBTC: Good, good. Oh, and Kamek, while you're at it, get me a Magikoopa that I can send on less important missions than yours.

Kamek: Yes, Master.
