Waluigi's Rise

By Pyroboo

As the reunited trio left Waluigi's Island, Luigi began to feel like he was being stalked. It seemed like he was being followed around every corner, and he couldn't rest. It was a strangely familiar feeling, but he just tried to ignore it. Little did he know, he really was being watched. Very closely, too. It wasn't Waluigi, or anyone he was acquainted with, at least as friends. It was a little weird, but several times he thought he heard a helicopter shifting through the skies before he left the island. He was right to be scared, for he was being watched.

From the skies, the ground, underground, in the water, in warp pipes, Luigi and his friends were being stalked around Waluigi's Island by a very sneaky Koopa. A sneaky Koopa that was gathering info on the trio. That sneaky Koopa was Larry! The helicopter sounds Luigi was hearing was the Koopa Klown Kopter, and he was getting all this information for the Koopa Army! This was no good for anyone!

As he laughed to himself, Larry wisped away into the dark purple skies. About two hours later, Larry arrived at King Koopa's Castle. The castle was immense! It had to have been 70 stories high! It was draped in an eerie, black fog, and stood in the heart of Dark Land. Seeing Roy outside gave Larry a sick feeling, but he ignored him as best as he could, and landed inside. Bowser was loafing around in his chambers, but when Larry graced the king with his presence, he scrambled to his feet and sprinted over. He interrogated Larry on his findings, and Larry had plenty to spill.

He explained to the mighty Koopa King that Luigi was on a quest to halt Waluigi's plans to take Sarasaland. Luigi had teamed up with a former ally, and an enemy. Larry was cut short when Bowser asked who they were. Larry murmured that it was Bow, then gulped, and that the enemy was Tubba Blubba. Bowser roared with laughter, informing Larry that Bow was weak and helpless, and Tubba Blubba was no longer invincible! Larry was shocked at this, and smirked. King Koopa called the Koopalings into his quarters and proclaimed that they were to bombard Luigi, Bow, and Tubba Blubba at sunset tomorrow! Everyone howled with laughter, except for one lone Koopaling- Wendy. She asked Bowser why he wanted to raid the trio. Bowser's laugh died instantly. He leered at Wendy sharply, and told her that they were pursuing Waluigi, and weren't far behind. He boomed that if they let Waluigi get away with taking over Sarasaland, they wouldn't be able to take it over themselves. Wendy broke the connection between her eyes and her fathers, and walked out of the room. Ludwig slammed the door shut, and Iggy winced at the slam.

Lemmy rolled over on his ball to Bowser and asked if Luigi had anything special to throw at them this time. This started Morton, and he went on about all the weapons the Marios use. Iggy ran to Lemmy and shoved him out of the way, and then asked Bowser how they were to attack a former ally. He knew all their tactics! Bowser's eyes suddenly shut, and he told everyone except Iggy to leave. Roy "escorted" the remaining Koopalings out the chamber doors, and Bowser conversed with Iggy.

Bowser boomed and roared, furiously bellowing about the time it would require to retrain his army! A few minutes later, he was at a loss for words. He grabbed Iggy by the shell and told him to go mind his land. Iggy was thrown out of the bedroom, and Bowser was laying in his bed, restless. He had tried to sleep the thought away countless times, but it was like a broken record; it kept on haunting him! Bowser finally got up, and sprinted out of bed. He sounded an alarm, and ALL the Koopas in his army came to him. He was surrounded by a storm of soldiers. They were immaculately lined up. He pulled aside a Clubba, and asked his post during OPERATION: STAR SPIRIT SHOWDOWN. The Clubba said the once invincible Tubba Blubba's Castle. Bowser smirked and asked where in the castle, and found the Clubba was a hall guard. Bowser's smirk instantly changed into a grimace of anger. With a swipe of his claw, the Clubba was smashed into the staircase banister. Bowser spat, and asked if anyone worked Tubba Blubba's Castle room. Everyone stepped back except for two lone Clubbas.

Bowser was once again smiling, and escorted the two Clubbas into his chambers. They were violently shaking, but Bowser assured them that nothing would happen to them. One of them took a deep breath, while the other gulped. He offered them seats, and Bowser took one for himself. Bowser asked them what the "oaf" usually talked about. They said he only spoke of ghosts, lots and lots of ghosts. Tubba-Blubba's diet consisted of them, but he was scared of them, too. No matter how many he ate, he couldn't beat his fear. A thought sparked through Bowser's mind. He was afraid of ghosts! He couldn't stand them! What minion was ghost-like? Something that Tubba Blubba had never seen, and something he couldn't ingest. Bowser hurried the Clubbas out. He had to think.

Bowser pulled out a chest chock full of plans Mario had beaten in the past. There was OPERATION: GREEN DONKEY, which was Bowser's first attack on Mario. He would've succeeded, if it wasn't for the Yoshi Tribe. Then, there was OPERATION: DICE ROLL. That one was all the Mario Parties Peach threw. Each and every one failed. He dug deeper into the chest, throwing all the papers and parchments aside. As he reached the bottom of the chest, he was furious. Nothing consisted of ghosts! Tubba Blubba was used to Boos, and was traveling with one that commanded such respect among them, it seemed like Waluigi's take over of Sarasaland was inevitable. Bowser grabbed the chest and emptied it above him, all the operational procedures falling out beside him. OPERATION: KARTS drifted to the floor, along with OPERATION: WORLD 8-4. Very quickly, the chest was clean. Bowser turned it over, and threw it against his wall. Then, something fell out of the seemingly barren box. Bowser ran over, and took a look at the handkerchief. It was a bandana with a chalked on Mario mustache and nose. Bowser immediately felt a surge of relief. This was the bandana from OPERATION: GRAFFITI!

Bowser ran out his chamber doors to the quiet dining room, and sat down with a quill, an inkwell, and some parchment. He needed to think of a name for his plan... For hours Bowser sat, pondering a name. Then it hit him- OPERATION: BANDANA BROS.

With a loud drop, Naval crashed to the rich, damp soil that was Sarasaland. The Bob-omb army followed, carrying their evil leader Waluigi with them in a golden seat. A group of Bob-ombs hoisted him up, and he jumped out of his seat, landing on Naval's lip. The plant-like beast smiled, and continued onward. Waluigi was wearing a suit of black armor with a radiant purple cape, boasting an extravagant symbol. It was an oversized, gold-threaded Piranha Plant, with spears tangled within its vines. He jumped onto his Piranha Plant pet's head, and told his Bob-omb army to take anything they could by any means necessary. The whole army beckoned to Waluigi's command, scattering all over the land. Naval raced to Daisy's Castle, and rammed the door down. Waluigi disembarked from there, jumping off Naval's head onto the floor. The designs on the tiles could not be seen, for when Naval entered, he scattered dust everywhere. Waluigi ignored this minor annoyance, and pressed on. He reached the end of the seemingly everlasting hallway, and shoved the main room door open. Waluigi expected to see Daisy lofting on her chair, but was dumbfounded. He saw no one! Waluigi looked around, behind chairs, under the balcony, in chandeliers, but no one was in there! This takeover was going to be cake. Waluigi let a low laugh go, and let Naval enter the room.

Waluigi spoke to Naval, and told him his purpose was to be fulfilled. Naval nodded, and started to rip up the floor tiles. Naval only finished when every last tile was broken and tossed aside. Then, his vines started to shake violently. The end of a vine was pulled from the tangled thorns, and was shot into the ground like a needle. Naval did this until all his vines were planted into the dirt. Waluigi looked at his plant, grinned, and then asked the plant how it felt. Naval emitted a chomping sound that broke all the windows. Waluigi laughed hysterically and sat in Daisy's chair, watching his plan unfold marvelously.

Meanwhile, during Waluigi's attack on Sarasaland, Bowser sat in his dining room negotiating with someone. The silhouette asked Bowser why he had been called on. Bowser smiled and told the silhouette that he was the key to defeating an extremely skilled warrior. He frowned, looked at Bowser, and told him he was a meek darkness now. He had no body. Bowser said this was no problem, as he pulled a chain that sounded an alarm. Every evil Koopa in the entire castle was standing there, in one single-file line. The silhouette was to pick a host. This went on for about an hour, until he found a Dark Koopa that looked capable. He had performed in various missions, including an infiltration of Mario's house. His record of being in the dungeon was zero, and he had no previous offenses against Bowser. He was elite among warriors, and was shown respect. The silhouette chose this Koopa, and the minion was given the honor of wearing the bandana of Shadow Mario.

Shadow Mario's training was designed to eliminate his old grafiti techniques and teach him new, original, more powerful techniques. There were advantages to being Mario, but there were also things a Koopa could do and a human couldn't. So, Shadow Mario was to switch between Koopa form and Shadow form, without having his Koopa form show before he took the bandana off. That meant no wind ups, like front flips or curling up. He had to change on the spot. Every time he tried, he pulled it off more successfully than the last. He let off a burst of power, and transformed from his Shadow form back to his Koopa form several times, and vice versa.

Bowser was in another room, watching wide-eyed. Neither of them had even touched the bandana. But, Bowser recapped that thought. Would it be both of them, or just one person? Bowser called Shadow Mario out of the training room, and ran a claw on his bandana. He asked him who was in control; himself, or the Dark Koopa? Shadow Mario amazed Bowser by speaking in a dual voice, the Koopa and himself. He told the King of all Koopas both of them were in control. He could hear the confidence in their voices, and he hurried them back into the training room. He let out a loud laugh, and put on x.50 gravity. This made things even more intense, but Shadow Mario upheld grace under pressure. He changed back and forth, not breaking a single bead of sweat. Bowser would have to do better if he was going to unlock their potentials.

While Bowser was testing the limits of Shadow Mario, back in Princess Peach's Castle, there was chaos. Luigi was missing, the docks were broken, and Daisy had run high with a fever. These problems seemed easy to control, but with the docks broken by Naval, Daisy couldn't get the treatment she needed. They called every doctor in the Mushroom Kingdom, but they all said this was something they'd never seen. Peach and Toadsworth would have to go to different places to find cures. The planes were out because of the Universal Pipe Dig, and that was right next to Sarasaland. Toadsworth had been thinking about their sister kingdom. Since they had a monarchy government, someone would take Daisy's place. But since she left, they'd got no status reports of the kingdom. Mario was secretly asked by Toadsworth to investigate. Mario, hoping to catch Luigi along the way, ran across the Mushroom Kingdom. As he crossed the border, it seemed to get darker and darker. As he journeyed into the kingdom, he heard explosions, and this made him question what it was. He advanced, none slower, and saw houses being raided by Bob-ombs! All the Mushroomers were running around chaoticly, but Mario just tried to blend in. He snuck up to Daisy's castle, and opened the door. He sidled through the main hall, and creaked open the main room door... But what he saw was hard to believe. He got Toadsworth on walkie-talkie, and told him he saw Naval Piranha! Toadsworth asked him something, but their transmission broke up. Mario looked upward and saw Naval's head breaking through the ceiling as he grew bigger. Soon, his head was protruding from the castle. Mario snuck around Naval vines to see who’d brought Naval back to the living. He saw black armor and a purple cape with a symbol of a golden piranha on it. He looked above the armor and saw a familiar hat. It looked like an L, but was upside down and mirrored. It was Waluigi! Maybe he took Luigi hostage, Mario thought. Without thinking, Mario rushed at him. A vine from Naval swung at him, and he was smashed into the wall, face first.

A couple hours later, Mario awoke, gripped in the vines of Naval. Waluigi was standing to the side, conversing with a man. Waluigi looked up, acknowledging that Mario was once again conscious. He said something to the man, and they let out a cackle. He left, leaving Mario with Waluigi. Waluigi said the man he was talking to said he was going to get revenge upon him. Mario gulped, and asked who the man was. Waluigi snapped and Naval squeezed Mario, and he started to bleed, for the vines were piercing him. Naval didn't let go, and Waluigi asked Mario who would hate him so much, so much that he would've destroyed the Mushroom Kingdom to do away with him. Mario replied Bowser, and Waluigi bellowed wrong! Naval increased the grip on Mario. It didn't look good for our mustachioed hero. He wondered. Would he remain hostage, or would he escape? This guessing game was difficult! Who hates Mario as much as Bowser? Mario said either Princess Shroobs, but the grip only tightened, deepening the wounds.

Within the dark corridors of Kastle Koopa, a Dark Koopa walked alongside the Great Ruler of the Koopas, Bowser. They were silent, with strong expressions of confidence on their faces. Bowser looked at his underling and smirked. The Koopa King was eying the bandana of the Koopa's alter ego, Shadow Mario. It was rung around his neck, tied around, making him look professional. The Koopa lowered his shades and laughed.  They stopped, and opened a door to their left.

An explosion was heard, and their smiles were wiped off instantly. They stood motionless, waiting for an explanation. They heard a loud, strange laugh, and out came Ludwig, Bowser's firstborn son. He was in a white lab coat, which had a blotch of some kind of slimy substance. Ludwig told them the project they’d asked for was ready. The Dark Koopa asked what the slime was, and Ludwig told him it was just graffiti. Bowser grunted, and told his son to lead them to the monstrosity. Ludwig nodded, turned around, and led them to a strange, goop covered machine. He started the machine up again, and opened a hatch. Ludwig extended his arm and forcefully took the bandana from the Dark Koopa. He stuck the bandana on a black pad, and the scanner inside took notice of this. It took the data of Shadow Mario, and when it was done, the bandana floated off the scanner. Shadow Mario appeared in the form he used without a host, looking at the machine. The group watched in awe. The machine emitted steam and graffiti, which doused all of them. Ludwig wiped the slime off his face, and punched in a code for the machine. It did something, then let out a noise Ludwig made a face at. He told the trio to flee, and they did so. The machine blew, causing a massive paint explosion. Bowser, leading the way, led Shadow Mario and the Koopa back into the room. Shadow Mario transformed back into the bandana, and tied himself around the Dark Koopa's neck. Ludwig got up from under a pool of slime, and was holding something, something nobody could make heads or tails of until it was cleaned off.

After a rinse off, Bowser summoned Kamek Koopa, his guardian and former leader of the Magikoopa Squadron. The king ordered Kamek to put the bandana on. The old Koopa bowed, and put the bandana on. Ludwig told them to give it a minute to kick in. Bowser asked Kamek how he felt.  He murmured that he felt nothing. The Dark Koopa asked him if he felt different at all. Kamek told him that now that he thought of it, yes. He turned transparent, and then let off a big burst of energy, blowing the paint all over. He reappeared, but in a completely different form. He looked like the Dark Koopa in his Shadow Mario form, but was a little more slender. Kamek looked taller, was glowing like Shadow Mario, and had the same, piercing red eyes as the shadow. Ludwig rejoiced in success, but the Dark Koopa couldn't keep his eyes off Kamek's new form. He’d become Shadow Mario, and both the Koopa and Shadow Mario spoke to Kamek. They asked what his name was, and the figure replied quietly in a dual voice, Shadow Luigi.

While OPERATION: BANDANA BROS. was being put into play, Bow, Tubba Blubba, and Luigi were all on their way to Sarasaland. They’d escaped Waluigi's Island, and just emerged from the warp pipe. Bow and Luigi were focused of Tubba Blubba's new dual voice. Tubba Blubba couldn't explain what happened, but knew it was his heart. Luigi was puzzled, but Bow seemed to follow perfectly. He shrugged, and they kept moving. A while down the wasteland they walked, a thought crossed Bow's mind. What haf Luigi done before meeting them, she wondered? He figured he was probably something great... Bow turned around and asked Luigi this almost immediately.  Luigi turned pale, and his pupils dilated. What was he to say? He wouldn't lie... Tubba Blubba looked at him, eager to know. At that moment, the poor plumber cracked under pressure. His secret was no longer safe. He collapsed, and proclaimed his past to the world. He exclaimed that he’d captured 50 Boos, plus King Boo! He sat up, his face still white, and got up to see Bow's jaw drop. Luigi pleaded for understanding, but Bow floated away, tears falling from her face. Luigi ran behind her as fast as he could, but couldn't reach her. She had already departed for the unknown. Luigi ran back to Tubba Blubba as quickly as he could, but he simply shook his head, and left in Bow's trail. Luigi sat in on the wastelands where he’d lost his dear friends. He stood up, confused. He’d lost friends in an instant. It was unbearable. He turned tail and ran back for the Mushroom Kingdom, and with an angry face, he ran across the deserted area, leaving the duo behind.

He reached Peach's Castle through the warp pipe system, and ran inside. He looked around, but heard nobody. He ran up a flight of stairs, and heard a bunch of serious-sounding voices. He opened the door where the voices where coming from, and everyone stopped talking. Peach, Yoshi, Birdo, and Toadsworth were all in there. They looked at Luigi, and rejoiced! Their friend had returned! There were hugs, handshakes, and smiles given to him, but Luigi's main concern was the fact he’d lost his friends, but Luigi told nobody about them. He slowly approached the bed many Mushroomers were hovering over, and realized it was Daisy in the bed. Luigi gasped, and grabbed her hand. He asked the doctors what was wrong, but they were clueless. Luigi looked at Daisy, and she opened her eyes. Luigi felt relief, and asked her what was wrong. Daisy murmured that something was wrong with Sarasaland, and it made her run high with a fever. He’d completely forgotten about that! Waluigi was taking over Sarasaland! Daisy fell back to sleep, her hand slipping out of Luigi's grip.

Luigi told everyone about Waluigi, and Toadsworth fainted halfway through the explanation. Peach sounded an alarm, and an army of Mushroomers were ready outside. Peach gave them a secret warp pipe potion that led them to Sarasaland. Luigi threw his hand with the potion back, winding up for the throw, but was stopped. It was Yoshi! He told Luigi he was coming with him, and Luigi nodded. He felt something pick him up, and when he looked forward, he was on Yoshi's back. Luigi threw the potion, and it was the same kind Waluigi had thrown for his dramatic escapade in Dark Land. The army, Luigi, and Yoshi jumped down the pipe, intertwining the Mushroom Kingdom with Waluigi's conquest for Sarasaland.

As she wandered the skies, Bow started to think... Why would Luigi do such a thing? Torture ghosts... and Boos! Cram them in picture frames, and hang them on the wall for everyone to see... Was there a reason?  When that crossed her mind, she heard Tubba Blubba cry out for her. She stopped and flew back down to the earth.  Tubbba Blubba's voices were both panting simultaneously, and he was bent over to catch his breath. He couldn't keep up, but Bow told him they needed to keep pace. She made Tubba Blubba intangible, and she flew across the sky, faster than before.

Tubba Blubba was in the air, carried by Bow, and was flailing around. Bow told him now he knew what she felt like when she had been grabbed by him and he had jumped out of a three story mansion. As she scoffed, she was feeling a strong fatigue come over her. She told him they were landing, no matter where the place, because she would drop him if not. Tu ba Blubba nodded, and they landed in an area filled with dead grass. Tubba-Blubba asked Bow why everything was barren here. She couldn't answer for sure, but she got a funny feeling about this place. It was important that they were here. Tubba Blubba told Bow this was Sarasaland. Bow got wide-eyed, and told the giant Clubba they needed to hurry!

For hours the duo walked the barren land, unaware of what was going on with Luigi. Down on the cold earth, Luigi and his army emerged from the pipe, ready to have the final showdown with Waluigi. While on Yoshi, Luigi fluttered down, and checked his surroundings. Everything was quiet until a rumble shook the ground, and an explosion followed. Luigi told the army to march forward, leading them towards whatever the blast was. Luigi looked one way, and Yoshi looked another... but to no help. It was cold and dead, and the land was torn apart. Luigi hopped off Yoshi, and started walking forward. Then, for no reason, he tripped onto his back. He grimaced, brushed himself off, and got up. He was on guard when suddenly he felt a chill. A Boo appeared right in front of him, glaring him straight in the eyes.

Luigi's body went numb, but he stood his ground, staying on guard. Yoshi looked over to see Luigi and a dirt-covered Boo. Yoshi told the army to scatter and save as much of Sarasaland as possible, and they did so. Yoshi snuck up behind the Boo and listened, sidling on a nearby wall. Luigi walked past the ghoul, but the Boo just ran in front of him again, and again, and again. Luigi soon got tired and asked what was the problem. The Boo asked him where Lady Bow was. Luigi got infuriated! He started to sprint, and the Boo couldn't catch up. The Boo started to fly higher, trying to catch Luigi, and caught up to the skins of his overalls. Luigi got furious, and started a massive sprint, leaving a cloak of dust behind him.

Yoshi stood in awe, not knowing his friend could run that fast. Yoshi decided to go his own way for now, hopefully able to catch Luigi later. What his plumber pisano had just done was a little rash, but Yoshi felt for him. Losing friends is a difficult thing. Bearing that in mind, Yoshi started to sprint. A few moments later, he ran into a small village. It was inhabited by Boos, and Yoshi ran in to calm them. A Boo flew up in front of him and told him to step no farther. Yoshi laughed, and walked through him. A bombardment of explosions were set off, and many Boo screeches were heard. Yoshi took cover, and looked up. Bob-ombs were attacking the village! No hope for this village was left. But Yoshi spoke too soon, for he saw a Boo in ribbons and an oversized Clubba run in, and the explosions ceased. The little one grabbed and lit the fuses of the Bob-omb squad, and the big one threw them into the sky, and they exploded in midair. Yoshi ran in and looked the Boo in the eyes, and she glared back just as strong. Yoshi grabbed a bomb and handed it to her, and she lit the fuse. Yoshi grabbed several Bob-ombs, and handed them to the Boo. The assembly line was successful, and the town was saved with no casualties. The ghost introduced herself as Bow, and the Clubba as Tubba Blubba. Yoshi introduced himself, and asked them why they were here. Tubba Blubba told him they were there to help overthrow Waluigi. Yoshi smiled, and told him they were here for the same thing. Tubba Blubba asked him who “they” was? Yoshi said the entire Mushroom Army. Bow asked if they could accompany them in stopping Waluigi, and Yoshi agreed. The trio walked onward.

After the trio was united, Luigi was in danger. Stopping his run, Luigi met up with a Mushroom soldier. The soldier greeted him, and Luigi greeted back, cooling off. He wasn't as mad anymore, but something didn't feel right. He turned back to ask the soldier if something was happening, but a net was thrown over him. A white Duplighost with a party hat had disguised itself as the soldier! Luigi looked at him, and he saw a light go down his body. Then, everything went dark...

Moments later, Yoshi picked something up on his walkie-talkie. Someone told him to come to Sarasaland Castle.  The Bros. were being held there! Tubba Blubba asked who were "The Bros"? But Yoshi had already broken into a run, and told them to keep up. Bow smirked and jumped into the air, flying high. They reached the castle in about fifteen minutes, and batted the door open. It was quiet, until Yoshi stepped onto a false floor tile. The foyer collapsed, and the trio fell into a deep darkness.

A little while later in the Resting Chamber of the Sarasaland Castle, Luigi awoke to see a reflection of himself, but there was no mirror! This was odd enough, but how had he got here? He remembered a net, and a Duplighost... Everything else was foggy. But, nonetheless, he got up, and touched the reflection. To his horror, it was real! The body was real! He jumped back, still groggy from waking up, but on guard. Then someone came into the room. It was badly lit in there, so Luigi couldn't make much of the silhouette. It was short, muscular in the arms, but very round. The reflection stepped into the dark, and was handed something from the thing. It was a photograph, and the Duplighost laughed and stuck it in a pocket, saving it for later. Luigi was very confused. What was going on? The ghost shoved Luigi to the ground, and a white line appeared above his head. As the line traveled downward, Luigi's eyes widened bigger. The ghoul became the spitting image of Mario! The imposter Mario left the room, leaving the man and Luigi. The man stayed in the dark, making Luigi nervous. He could lash out at any given moment, and Luigi would meet his demise!

As they plummeted into the dark depths of the unknown, Yoshi and Tubba Blubba started to panic. Bow remained quiet with a cool head, and floatedover to the distraught duo. She grabbed them by their necks, and they became translucent. As Tubba Blubba brushed off the sweat on his forehead, Bow glared at the darkness below them, and rocketed downwards. Both of Tubba Blubba's voices were screaming to their capacity, but Yoshi had fainted, so he made no sound. The giant Koopa squirmed and kicked and thrashed and fought... and Bow reminded him of the time they jumped out the manor window again. This made Tubba Blubba quiet down, because thoughts of Luigi had raced into his head. His eyes watered, but he came back into focus. He looked down, and hid in his shell. They were reaching the bottom! Bow pulled upward as an airbrake, and Yoshi awoke, for the force of the stop was very great. Everyone just sort of fell over on the ground to rest. But the peace was only momentary. A squad of Bob-ombs entered the room and sounded an alarm. Yoshi ran to the alarm and broke it, making it sound even louder. He fumbled with it, and finally gave up. The Bob-ombs came in, and several blew up. Tubba Blubba jumped in front of Yoshi and Bow to shield them, but the trio soon succumbed to the massive explosions, and fainted.

As the alarm sounded, Luigi was cornered in the resting chamber with a mysterious person. Luigi was actually in the process of enacting a plan. He thought if he drew the enemy into the light, he could identify his weakness faster. Just then, the alarm reached the Resting Chamber where they he was. The man's foot had only stepped into the light. Whoever it was, he had pointy, green shoes. This didn't really help... But the man heard the alarm and left the room. Luigi tried the door, but the man locked it before he could reach it. This wasn't good... Luigi tried to crash the door down, escape through the ground, ram a wall down, but he just wasted energy. He gave in, and rested. While he slept, the door to the resting chamber was busted off its hinges. Luigi was picked up, and whisked away.

Luigi was dropped on his head in the main room of the castle. There wasn't much space, because something was towering above him. His vision was temporarily impaired, because he had been dropped on his skull. He shook his head, and looked at the lumbering mass of green. He came into focus, and saw a jungle of vines, and Naval's face swung down, smirking at Luigi menacingly! Luigi yelled and crawled backwards. He got up on his feet and got on guard. He waited for Naval to strike, but instead of striking, he put his head to the top of the stairs. Waluigi was waiting on the top, and he jumped on Naval's head. He lowered the fiend to eye level with Luigi. He told Naval to stretch back out. Naval let Waluigi off, and then raised his head to protrude from the castle once again. Waluigi conversed with Luigi about his conquest, but Luigi just asked him why Naval had been crouched down until now. Waluigi laughed hard, and told him he let Naval inside because he didn't want his friends to catch on. Waluigi said he had them all now. Waluigi was going to continue boasting, but Luigi cut him off, asking where they were. Waluigi picked up where he left off, agitated. He pulled a curtain, and his friends, Yoshi, Mario, Bow, and Tubba Blubba, were tied to ropes by their feet. Waluigi snapped, and hundreds of Piranha Plants rose from the soil underneath them! The once beautiful castle was now a torture chamber! Luigi tried to help his friends, but was restrained by Bob-ombs.

As Luigi tried his best to help his loved ones, Sarasaland Castle had a another group visit it. As Luigi was fighting the Bob-ombs, a crash was heard. Luigi looked above him, and glass shards fell to the ground. The Koopa Klown Kar had come through the window, as the Koopa army burst through the wall. Waluigi looked over with disgust, and ordered Naval inside. Bowser cried out, saying OPERATION: BANDANA BROS. was now! All the Koopas roared, waking the quartet hanging by the ropes. Tubba Blubba thought quickly of a way to cut them down. He swung around to get momentum, and at the right moment, cut the ropes loose. There was no need for introduction, for everyone had met someone at some point. Yoshi pulled out a walkie-talkie, and called the Mushroom army. Within seconds, the room was being raided by Mushroomers. Waluigi had fled, but his army of Bob-ombs was still here. It was chaos for a second, until the Bandana Bros. came.

Every Troopa, Goomba, minion, and the seven Koopalings fell silent. Escorted by the Koopalings were Kamek Koopa and a Dark Koopa. Kammy rode in on her broom next to her teacher, and as they got closer, Mario got more nervous. They were wearing bandanas that looked like Shadow Mario's! They stopped right in front of Mario, and put the bandanas on their faces. They changed into their Shadow forms and flew up into the air. Shadow Mario and Shadow Luigi both proclaimed in four voices that the battle for Sarasaland had begun!

The final battle had commenced! The Bandana Bros. shot down from the skies like bullets, while Bob-ombs parachuted from the broken ceiling. Naval bit and swung his overgrown vines, and the Mario Bros. jumped and used whatever they had with them. Bow and Tubba Blubba re-enacted the move they used inside the overflowing warp pipe, but this time Bow flew with Tubba Blubba, and they rocketed into enemies. The Koopalings shot magic from their wands, and Bowser reduced everything in his path to cinders with his fire techniques. Piranha Plants chomped whoever was on the ground. Koopas rode Paragoombas and Troopas until at a good vantage point, and then hid in their shells and hurled themselves at enemies.  Yoshi was with the Mushroom Army. The Mushroom Kingdom fighters gave him Bob-ombs. Yoshi ate the Bob-ombs and threw the exploding eggs like grenades.

At this point, OPERATION: BANDANA BROS. was failing. The Shadows could not get close to Tubba Blubba, no matter how many they knocked down. Kamek got frustrated, and changed back. He used his wand to snipe down foes, and changed back into Shadow Luigi whenever he was targeted. The Dark Koopa who wielded the Bandana used techniques from Bowser's training room, and swiftly changed back and forth to his content.  This confused most, especially when they did this together. Kamek flew above the duo of Tubba Blubba and Bow, and boled downward. He levitated in front of Tubba Blubba's face, and the Clubba's pupils disappeared. He descended, but Bow was still there. She slapped the Shadow, and blew him away with her fan. As the Shadow flew down, it landed next to Mario and... Luigi? She flew down and tapped him on his shoulder.  Luigi stopped shooting and looked at her. At that moment, Shadow Mario boomed down between them. He carried Roy, and they cornered Mario. The plumber got mad and pulled out a Super Leaf. Mario smashed them into the ground, crushing Roy's sunglasses. Roy got up, and hurled the unconscious Shadow Mario at the Real Mario. But suddenly, someone teleported in front of Mario to block the attack. It was... Another Mario? Roy shook his head, and went for the punch. The new Mario dodged these fast attacks gracefully. Then, he teleported behind Roy and delivered a kick to his neck. Roy fell knocked out, and a white light went over his body. The white light appeared over the imposter Mario, and as it got lower, he looked more and more like Roy! Mario sprinted towards him, saying he wasn't going to guess his name this time. The imposter, known as Doopliss, teleported away. Mario tried to focus, but was hit with a hammer. A Sledge Brother stood behind him, as he laughed. Mario rubbed the bump on the back of his head, and felt a sensation. He’d lost his Fire Bros. power! Mario was already fatigued and was easily disposed of.

Luigi returned to see Mario being scooped up by a Sledge Bro, and laughing behind him was Wendy. Luigi shot a large ball of fire at them, getting only the Sledge Bro. Wendy got mad and used her wand to summon a tsunami! Luigi started to sprint away with Mario's unconscious body, but stopped and started to laugh. Wendy turned around to see her tsunami soaked up by Naval's soil. Naval started to fight with her, giving Luigi the chance to run. He bumped into a bunch of Bob-ombs, and it got ugly. Luigi was separated from Mario. The unconscious plumber was sent into the room Waluigi went to with precise aim, flying through a hole in the wall. Luigi was sent the other way, but was caught by something big. It was Tubba Blubba and Bow! Bow told Luigi to consider himself forgiven, but Luigi questioned quickly. Bow said, while grabbing a Bob-omb, that he must have fought those Boos because he was threatened. Luigi smiled ear to ear, saying that’s exactly what had happened. He grabbed a Bob-omb, and the reunited trio performed their underwater pipe trick. It was twice the firepower with twice as many Bob-ombs. Tubba Blubba aimed downward, and they hit the ground, scattering a squad of Koopas, along with Iggy. Larry quietly snuck a Piranha Plant he’d uprooted from Naval beside Luigi, and the plant bit him. Luigi gasped and jumped around, as the potted shrub clenched deeper into his leg. Bow pulled the plant off and threw it at Larry, who couldn't evade it and was hit. Bow cleaned the bloodstains from the teeth off. You could tell how far apart each tooth was by the marks. It was serious, and Bow was getting mad. She’d made that suit for him! She flew into the air and spotted Ludwig battling a bunch of Piranha Plants. She grabbed him and shook the plants off, and Ludwig started to thrash. She dropped him onto Lemmy like a meteor, popping the ball he was riding. The explosion sent Lemmy on a collision course right onto Morton, who flew into Bowser's Koopa Klown Kar. He talked about the agonizing pain, bumping into gears and control panels. Bowser panicked, shook his head, and tried to stop him. But it was too late. The Koopa Klown Kar bolted over and crashed into a wall.

Everyone stopped fighting and looked at the helicopter. It was destroyed and had burst into flames, but Bowser, caring about Morton, had grabbed him and jumped out at the last second. Bowser roared and blew flames. There was a squad of Bob-ombs around him, and every one's fuse was lit. Bowser looked at what he had done. All the warriors in the room screeched and yelped, running for an exit. Mushroomers shoved Koopas, Bob-ombs that weren't lit ran around in circles, and the Koopas carried the Koopalings and Bowser for the exit. Naval was helpless, but still flailed. His vines covered the exits, and everyone who tried to escape was crushed by the plant's fury. Just when things couldn't get worse, the Bob-ombs exploded!

The main room was filled with one massive explosion, flinging everyone everywhere! Many crashed into each other in midair, and crashed onto the ground, out cold. Those who didn't were knocked into a wall and fainted. Naval's vines were tossed and turned around, smashing some unlucky people, and the plant itself rested its head on it's vines, unconscious and defeated for now. There were only a few conscious. They were Bow, Yoshi, Tubba Blubba, and Luigi. Bow made them intangible and avoided the blast. But that was it. It was over. They advanced for the room Waluigi fled to, but were halted by something. It was the Bandana Bros! They rose from the rubble, looking unharmed, and slowly levitated towards the quartet. All four of them were fatigued from the battle, so this would be child's play for the Shadows!

The Bandana Bros. floated over to the quartet. Yoshi started to back up, but was halted by Tubba Blubba's body. He looked up at the giant, but he wouldn't move. Tubba Blubba's body was frozen solid in fear. He was extremely cold, too. The Shadows realized this and smirked. They picked up their speed, and the four braced themselves. Luigi started to slap Tubba Blubba, but Bow said he was doing it wrong. She ran up in front of him, and let out the biggest shriek she could. Tubba Blubba jumped to a start, and ran. The other three did the same.

The Bandana Bros. reverted back to Kamek and the Dark Koopa, and took off their bandanas. There were now four enemies to watch out for. Luigi was chased by the Dark Koopa, and cornered on top of Naval's unconscious head. Just as he was about to fall, Bow swooped in and grabbed him at the last second! With Shadow Mario hot on their trail, Bow bulleted with Luigi across the skies outside the room, and shot downward, directly at the imposter Mario! She collided with him, dropping Luigi to the ground. They crashed into a wall, making a giant-sized hole. Luigi lay on the ground, steadily getting up.

Tubba Blubba was fighting on the stairs with Shadow Luigi, and losing horrifically. The Clubba tried to jump on him, but missed and rolled down the stairs. Shadow Luigi levitated over Tubba Blubba's battered body, and prepared for the final strike, but was faltered by something. It was nobody he or his friends were pursuing. It was Mario! He had come back to settle the score. He threw the mass of darkness away from Tubba Blubba, and knelt next to his old rival. His pulse was running high, but seemed to be ok. Mario patted him on his orange hair, and left to fight.

Yoshi was being chased by Kamek on his broom, and was shot with magic. He retaliated and did a backhand spring to get some leverage. In midair, he shot his tongue at Kamek, and hit him on the forehead. He jolted him back, and engulfed him! He produced an egg, and shot it at the Dark Koopa to finish him. It connected with his shades, cracking them. The dazed Koopa fell over, defeated. The shell of the egg burst, and Kamek lay, knocked out. They were both out cold.

Mario saw and ran over to aid Bow, but was halted by Doopliss! He rose from the rubble, and in the honor of Waluigi, did battle with Mario. Since they both had the same body, the battle was far from one-sided. Mario used all his techniques, and Doopliss used the same ones and a few of his own. It looked like Doopliss was getting the upper hand until he was swooped onto the ground by Mario. Mario grabbed him and ran over to Naval. He tied him in the vines, and got all his friends. They tied the four remaining enemies in too.

When the four foes came around, the newly formed quintet were’;t concerned with Bowser's minions, and so let them be. Their main focus was Doopliss, being one of Waluigi's henchmen. Luigi interrogated him on Waluigi's plans, and when he wouldn't talk, Bow scared him. The Duplighost told them that once Waluigi took over Sarasaland, he was going to storm other lands! The Mushroom Kingdom, Beanbean Kingdom, Dinosaur Land, Dark Land, and Sub-con were all on the list! Yoshi told his friends there was no time to waste with these goons! The five ran for the room Waluigi had run into. They were finally going to bring this long battle to a close!
