Part 11: Shadow Showdown!
Luigi Hammer Brother is still tied to a chair. He breaks free.
LHB: YES! After ten parts of not talking, I’m free!
LHB runs out of the room.
Mario Koopa: Get
back here! Oh well…
Back to the story. Mario was walking around Delfino Plaza when he saw everybody gathering at the lighthouse. He ran over there to see what was going on.
Mario: Excuse me. Pardon me! Ooh, is that a chili-dog? Pardon me! Coming through!
Mario got to the front of the crowd and saw what was going on. Fortunetella had gathered them to tell them a prediction.
Fortunetella: I have gathered you here to tell you of the horrible fate of the island.
Pianta #1: What is it?
Fortunetella: Corona Mountain shall erupt!
Different people in the crowd: Corona Mountain? It’s going to erupt?! This is very alarming! What will we do? Will we survive?
Fortunetella: The island will be consumed in lava. If there is a person who thinks they can stop this madness, speak now!
Mario: <_< … >_> … I will!
Everybody in the crowd but Mario: WHAT?!
Cop #1: Don’t be ridiculous!
Cop #2: Yeah! You’re a criminal! You’ll just make things worse, I bet!
Cop #1: I say, you’re not doing anything! You’ve already made a mess of things! You’re not making a bigger one!
Cop #2: You think you’re some hero? You’re just a low-life bad guy!
???: THAT’S NOT TRUE!
Everybody turns around and sees lots of people from the places Mario’s saved.
Pianta #2 (Bianco Hills): He’s no low-life! He’s great!
Pianta #3 (Ricco Harbor): We’ve seen him in action!
Noki #1 (Gelato Beach): You’d better believe it! Our dune buds were saved! He’s a hero!
Pianta #4 (Pinna Park): He stopped a monster that was ten times as tall as he is!
Manager (Hotel Delfino): I didn’t really see him do anything. But he's got to be great if these things that people are saying are true! He’s great!
Noki #2 (Noki Bay): He stopped a giant eel! He’s a true hero if I ever saw one!
Yoshi (Pianta Village): Yoshi like him! Yoshi like him!
Cop #1: Uh…
Cop #2: Uh…
Cop #1: Well, I doubt you’d come all the way from your homes to here to say that if it weren’t true.
Cop #2: So I guess he’s got the job.
Everybody: YAY! 1, 2, 3, MAR-I-O! 1, 2, 3, MAR-I-O! 1, 2, 3, MAR-I-O! HOORAY!
Mario: Thanks everybody! Now listen, I’ve got a plan! Everybody needs to go to the sea so that they don’t get hurt by the lava flow. I’m going to go inside the volcano and stop whatever’s causing the eruption! (And I have a pretty good idea what is.) Now go!
Everybody goes to the ocean. They are close to the island, though.
Mario: The volcano should erupt…
KAABBBOOOOMMMMM!!!
Mario: Now!
Mario runs to the volcano. He is about to go inside through that cave but he sees that lava is coming out from there. He quickly goes back and sees a monster made of lava emerging from Corona Mountain.
Mario: It’s a lava monster!
Monster: GRRAAAHHHH!!!
The monster comes out of Corona Mountain. Mario takes the Shine Sprites out and makes them blast the monster. The monster loses its arms. It shoots fire at Mario from its mouth. Mario sprays the fire to douse it and the Shine Sprites continue blasting the monster. The monster loses its legs. Then it loses its head too. The only thing remaining is the chest and stomach, which soon fall to the ground and explode. Corona Mountain stops erupting. Mario looks around and sees lava everywhere.
He looks in front of him and sees Shadow Mario! Shadow Mario changes into Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr: I’m getting really tired of you, Cheese Head!
The Shine Sprites blast Bowser Jr. Bowser Jr. simply holds his paintbrush up and it absorbs the blasts.
Mario: *gasp*
The Shine Sprites go back in Mario’s pocket.
Shadow FLUDD: Ha ha! That’s right, Stupid Mario Bro! My master isn’t weak to those anymore! He wished it! And his wish is the paintbrush’s command!
FLUDD: We will defeat you!
Bowser Jr. turns back into Shadow Mario.
Life Check: Shadow Mario: 100 HP. Mario: 40 HP.
Shadow Mario sprays goop at Mario. Mario dodges and uses the Rocket Nozzle to rocket up. Mario sprays at Shadow Mario but Shadow Mario dodges, rockets up with the Rocket Nozzle, and hits Mario with his paintbrush. Mario lands on the ground facefirst.
Life Check: Shadow Mario: 100 HP. Mario: 30 HP.
Mario gets up and turns around. He sprays up at Shadow Mario. Shadow Mario is hurt and falls to the ground. While he’s getting up Mario is spraying him.
Life Check: Shadow Mario: 80 HP. Mario: 30 HP.
Shadow Mario runs in circles around Mario at a super fast speed with the Turbo Nozzle. Mario sprays straight ahead and hurts Shadow Mario. Mario gets dizzy and falls down.
Life Check: Shadow Mario: 70 HP. Mario: 25 HP.
Mario gets up
and sees Shadow Mario on the ground. He sprays him. Shadow Mario tries
to get up but Mario jumps on top of him. Mario rockets up from Shadow Mario
with the Rocket Nozzle. He ground pounds on Shadow Mario. Shadow Mario
turns back into Bowser Jr. The spikes on Junior’s shell hurt Mario’s butt.
Mario rockets back up and Junior turns back into Shadow Mario and gets
out of the way of Mario’s
landing point.
Mario lands on the ground.
Life Check: Shadow Mario: 40 HP. Mario: 15 HP.
Shadow Mario: AI YA WAH! (Just give up!)
Mario takes out the Shine Sprites and throws them up in the air. The Shine Sprites blast at Shadow Mario but he holds up his paintbrush and absorbs the blast. Mario sprays him. Shadow Mario gets hurt from the water and is stunned. The blasts from the Shine Sprites hurt Shadow Mario.
Shadow Mario: AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Shadow Mario struggles to get his Shine Sprite. He gets it and holds it up. It absorbs the blasts. Mario sprays him again.
Shadow Mario and Shadow FLUDD: YYEOW!
Life Check: Shadow Mario: -20 and decreasing. Mario 15 HP.
The Shine Sprites stop blasting and go back in Mario’s pocket. Shadow Mario drops his Shine Sprite and collapses. Mario grabs Shadow Mario’s Shine Sprite. He takes all of his Shine Sprites out and throws them toward the sun. They fly to the sun and move it out of the way of the moon. Stars appear in the sky and the sky turns black.
Everybody: YAY!
Everybody goes home and falls asleep in their beds.
Mario: YES!
FLUDD: Finally! We’ve restored nighttime to Isle Delfino!
The Shine Sprites fly back to Mario and go in his pocket. Mario looks at the moon with great joy. Shadow Mario gets back up and looks at the moon. He turns back into Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr: NO! PEST! PEST! PEST! I HATE YOU MARIO! AND I WILL GET MY REVENGE! I WILL!
Bowser Jr. paints a goop pile and jumps in. Mario turns around and rushes to the goop. The goop starts disappearing. Mario switches to the Turbo Nozzle and goes faster toward the goop. He jumps in just in time.
In the castle in the sky...
Bowser and Peach are in the throne room. Bowser’s in a tuxedo and Peach is in a wedding gown. They’re walking down to the throne. They reach the minister.
Minister Koopa: Do you, King Bowser Koopa, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife?
Bowser: I do.
Minister Koopa: And do you, Princess Peach Toadstool, take this man to be your awfully- uh, I mean LAWFULLY wedded husband?
Peach: I…
Bowser: <_<
Peach: I… do. >3
Lemmy comes in on his ball with the wedding rings on a pillow. He falls off of his ball and the rings go flying in the air.
Lemmy: Ahh! No!
One of the rings lands on Peach’s finger and the other lands on Bowser’s.
Minister Koopa: I now pronounce you-
A Koopatrol barges in.
Koopatrol: King Bowser!
Bowser: X_X WHAT IS IT?!
Koopatrol: Mario’s collected the eighth Shine Sprite! Isle Delfino was fixed!
Bowser: WHAT?! NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Peach runs away.
Bowser: Get that princess! Now!
Everybody goes chasing after Peach.
