Mario and Wario are in the Comet Observatory helping the Toad Brigade build their starship.
Green: I appreciate your help.
Blue: Yeah.
Red: We've finished the Starshroom and we need a leader, so I nominate, well... um... Me!
Mario: Can't I be the leader?
Red: Excuse me? But are you a Toad? I don't think so.
Blue: Oh, pleeeeease let him be leader!
Red: *sigh* Okay, you can be co-captain.
Mario: Yay me!
Wario: But what about me?
Red: You can be the aid.
Wario: *gasp* Why can't I be-
Red: No "buts", Mario's co-captain.
Wario: Give me one reason why I can't join you.
Red: (ignoring Wario) Mario, I'll bet you make a good co-captain.
Mario: Can I ride in the Starshroom with you?
Red: Sure, anytime you want. Well, we'd better get going!
Mario: Let's go as well.
They enter the Space Junk Galaxy.
Wario: What should we do?
Mario: Follow the star path.
They follow the star path and come to some spheres with Amps and Star Chips on them.
Mario: Let's collect them.
They collect the Star Chips and follow the star path.
Mario: Look! There's some Toads in the ice! Let's free them.
They free Blue first.
Blue: Where'd my glasses go?
Mario: Here they are.
But before Blue can even touch them, Wario breaks them.
Blue: Why in the world did you break my glasses?
Wario: 'Cause I can.
Mario frees Green next.
Green: Please, you must help my other friends!
Yellow: Where's that confounded Power Star?
He frees Purple last, and Red comes with the Starshroom.
Purple: Captain, how could you?
Red: Da-da-da-DAAAAAA! Mr. Maaario and Waaario! As brave captain of the Toad Brigade, I've already discovered a shortcut to the Power Star! There's a shortcut on top of the Starshroom!
They use the Sling Star and land on a platform.
Wario: What do we do now?
Mario: We have to collect the Silver Stars.
They collect all five Silver Stars,
and the Power Star appears. They take the Power Star and head back to the
Observatory.
