Mario and Wario were at the Fountain Dome, both of them on the Pull Star, looking for a galaxy to go to.
Wario: Hey Mario! The Purple Comet is there!
Mario: Where?
Wario: There!
Wario was pointing to the Space Junk Galaxy, which the Purple Comet was in orbit.
Mario: Oh right! Let's-a-go!
Mario and Wario both flew off to the Space Junk Galaxy, and before long ended up in the area where the Cosmic platforms were. The 100 purple coins were in groups of 10 and spread throughout the area.
Wario: Oh, this will be easy! All the purple coins are in groups of 10! It's not like they're scattered everywhere!
Mario: That may be true, but we only have two minutes to get them all! And we're wasting time just talking about it!
True to Mario's word, the clock was at 1:55.
Wario: Then what are you waiting for? Let's GO GO GO!!
Wario immediately jumped for the purple coins as the Cosmic platforms started coming together to show the path. Wario grabbed the closest 10 coins and went for all the other groups of Purple Coins on the left side.
Wario: Well don't just stand there like you're wearing a Tanooki Suit and you're using your statue power to avoid an enemy! Get going!
Mario: Wario, you weren't even in that game!!
Mario jumped onto the Cosmic platforms and went for the purple coins on the right. Soon they were up to 70 purple coins. The timer was at 1:00 when Mario and Wario headed for the middle from each upper corner of the platforms. They each grabbed the two groups of purple coins in the upper middle section and were up to 90 purple coins.
Mario: Ok. Now we just have to grab that group of coins over there and we're done!
Wario: Yeah! I'll do it!
Mario: No wait! I want to get those!
Wario: No! Maybe I want that group!
Mario: You got the first 10 coins! Therefore you got 50 of them. It's only fair that I get these!
Wario: Well I'm the greedy one, and you have enough! I'll get them!
Mario: No! Me! Be fair Wario!
Wario: YOU be fair!
Mario and Wario both jumped for the coins. Mario landed on a platform as one appeared under him, but Wario, sadly, was not so lucky. But he quickly grabbed on to the edge of the platform.
Wario: Mario!! Help me!!
Mario quickly grabbed the last group of coins, causing the Star to appear.
Mario: Okay Wario, take my hand!
Mario grabbed Wario's hand and tried to help him up, but suddenly the timer started flashing. There were only 10 seconds left!
Mario: The Star!!
Mario quickly long-jumped for the Star before time ran out, releasing Wario's hand and causing him to fall screaming into the black hole below. Mario grabbed the Star.
Mario: Ya hah!
Wario: YOU OWE ME A 1-UP!!!
Mario and Wario were transported back. Mario told Wario where to get a 1-Up Mushroom in the Comet Observatory, and he went for it. He told Wario about the one inside a crate next to the Star Shroom.
Mario: Let's see where that Purple Comet is headed next!
Wario: Okay.
