They both find enough Star Bits to
feed the Hungry Luma and it transforms into a planet shaped like a chain.
Before they can use the Launch Star, a Goomba attacks the Mario Cousins!

They both use the Launch Star and see
a bunch of flipswitches.
Mario: WHOO!
They both activate all the flipswitches
while avoiding the Tox Boxes. Afterwards, they long jump onto the other
link and activate all the switches there, occasionally getting hit by spiked
platforms. Afterward, the Star appears on a block on the –Arios’ current
link. The cousins get there, grab the Star, and blast off.
