Chapter 3 Part 4: Underneath the Town
Koops jumped from his warp pipe. He looked around. He was in a dark area with pipes all over. There was also a strong stench that made Koops's eyes water. He was in the Toad Town sewers.
Koops: Man, this place has a bad smell... I need to find the Piece.
???: Not with me around!
Koops turned around to see a Gloomba.
Gloomba: You need to get past me!
Koops: ...
Slam! Koops knocked the Goomba out.
Koops: Still more to do.
Koops walked through the sewers, fighting 2 Goombas along the way. Then he ran into something.
Koops: What's this?
It was a note. This note was written on a gray piece of paper. Koops picked up the paper and began to read.
Koops: It says:
To those who read this note, I am held captive at the X-Naut base on the moon, alongside Eclair, princess of the Waffle Kingdom. I am not sure what the X-Nauts will do to me, but I am sure it is not positive. If they plan to kill me, this will be my last will ad testament. If not, then I will be trapped forever. My eldest sister, Amy, isn't here to save me, but who will? I guess I am doomed.

Koops: Who's Rosemary? Wait a minute...
Flashback…
???: Let me go before my sister gets here!
X-Naut: Take her to Wario's castle.
Mario: ?...! That must be one of Amy's sisters... We need to get going.
End Flashback…
Koops: Rosemary is Amy's youngest sister... I need to get going.
Koops walked through the sewers. There were no enemies around, yet Koops was scared, as if something was hiding in the shadows waiting quietly for the perfect moment to strike.
Koops: Oh no…
Koops reached an area with a pool of water in the center of the room. Koops looked into the water, seeing if anything that would attack him was in the water. Koops felt chills down his back.
Koops: Stay calm...
Suddenly…
???: BLOOPER!
A huge Blooper popped out of the water, looking rather angry, and Koops screamed at the sight of it.
Koops: OH NO!
Blooper: BLOOPBLOOPBLOOP! (What do think you're doing? Have a taste of tenticle sandwich!)
Koops: Ahhh!
The Blooper tried to hit Koops with its tenticles but Koops slammed into the Blooper's face. But the Blooper fought back. One of its tenticles sent Koops flying to the side. Then the Blooper sprayed ink at Koops, blinding him. However, Koops used Ice Shell on the Blooper, freezing it.
Koops: POWER SHELL!
KKERR-POWW!
Blooper: BBBLLLLOOOOPPPPP!
The Blooper was angry and broke the pipes, flooding the room.
Koops: AHHHHH!
Blooper: BLOOPER!
KER-POWW! Koops was hit hard by the tenticle, and lost some air. He started suffocating.
Koops: MMMMHHHHHH!
Blooper: BLOOPP!
The Blooper wrapped its tenticles around Koops, worsening his problem. Koops was losing air fast and he would die if he didn't act immediately. So he bit the Blooper's tenticle, causing the Blooper to lose its grip on Koops. Koops then slammed his shell against the Blooper 10 times and followed it up with Power Shell. Koops saw a knob on a wall and turned it. The water went down.
Blooper: BLOOPppppp…
Koops: Fire Shell!
Whoosh... SLLAMMMMM! FWWOOOOMMMM!
Blooper: BBBBLLLLOOOOPPPPPPP!
After the fiery blow the Blooper launched itself into the ceiling. SSLAAMMM! CRACK!
Koops: That was a close one...
Koops walked into the next room, then he ran into something.
Koops: What's this?
There were 3 light projectors in the room. Each of them showed a different color: red, green, and blue. The lights also showed color shards and on the other side of the room there was a picture showing the shards covering the area of the picture.
Koops: How do I operate these?
Koops saw a knob on the red light. He turned it counter-clockwise. The shards turned the same direction as the knob.
Koops: Oh...
Koops saw a switch on the ground. He ground pounded it, and the lights went together. The lights didn't match the picture.
Koops: I need to turn the knobs.
Koops turned the blue knob clockwise twice and the green knob clockwise twice, then counterclock ise once. Koops hit the switch again. Only the green light matched the picture.
Koops: I need to study the picture.
Koops saw the red light was way out of position and the blue light needed one turn to match.
Koops: One turn for the blue light...
The blue light matched. However, he still needed to position the red light.
Koops: How much should I turn the red knob?
Koops turned the knob clockwise. The shards were moving away from the matching position. Then he turned the knob clockwise. The shards started moving towards the matching position. The lights matched the picture.
Koops: Yes! Got it!
Suddenly there was a huge tremor that shook the whole room. The wall opened up to reveal a piece of a Star.
Koops: That must be the Piece.
Koops grabbed the Piece.
Koops: How do I get out of here...?
Another tremor came. This time a warp pipe came from the ground.
Koops: This is it.
Koops jumped into the warp pipe and was back at the Toad Town Hotel.
Mario: We’d better get-a ready.
Chaoter 3 Part 5: The Revenge of the X-Nauts
Luigi: Unite the pieces!
Koops: Ok.
Mario: Okie dokie.
The trio grabbed the Pieces, and then the Pieces came together to make a Star. Next the Star enlarged so that the trio could get on. Mario and Co. jumped onto the Star.
Mario: Are you ready?
Luigi and Koops: ... Yes.
Mario stood up and in doing so, he was charging the Star up. The Star glowed brighter during charging.
Mario: LET'S-A GO!
Mario stopped charging and released the energy, causing the Star to move. Mario moved the Star upwards to the sky.
Luigi: AHhh!
Koops: Wahhh!
Mario: Wahooo! Next stop, the X-Naut base!
The star glided over the Mushroom Kingdom and was moving slowly through the sky. As it was, the sky darkened each second.
Mario: Entering stratosphere…
Luigi: Mamamia!
Koops: Woah, it's so high up…
Mario: We're in the mesosphere now.
Luigi: Ahhhh...! WATCH OUT!
Mario: Hmmm?!
Mario saw a meteorite coming straight towards them. He moved the Star to the right within a second.
Luigi: I'm-a tired...
Mario: Thermosphere...
Koops: Wait, if the temperatures here are so high, why is it cold?
Mario: It's close to the vacuum and the particles are very few.
Koops: Oh.
Mario: Ionosphere... Exosphere...
Luigi: Where is the X-Naut base?
Mario: The moon.
Suddenly Mario felt no air around him anymore. The Star had broken free from Plit's atmosphere.
Mario: We need to get to the moon.
???: I don't think so!
A huge jet appeared in front of the Star. This jet had an X-Naut symbol on it and was made of metal. The voice that spoke to them was...
Mario: !!! CRUMP!!
Crump: Turn back now, or we will blow you to pieces!
Mario: NO WAY!
Crump: You asked for it!
The jet released cannons and weapons that shot at the Star. One laser hit the star, causing Mario to lose control.
Mario: Giant Fireball!
FLING! BBOOOOOMMM! Mario released a huge fireball that damaged the X-Naut jet. Luigi followed it with Thunderhand. Koops shot his shell at one of the cannons, causing it to become unstable and fire everywhere. The unstable cannon struck both the jet and the Star.
Mario: Firebrand!
FWWWWOOOOOMMM!
Crump: ARRGGHHHH!
All of the cannons hit the Star. The star was wrecked and was about to be destroyed.
Crump: Say goodnight, Mario!
Crump was preparing for a powerful shot that would destroy the Star. Suddenly...
BLAMM! BOOM!
Crump: AARRRGGGGHHHHH!
The jet was destroyed, but Crump escaped via escape pod. Suddenly Mario saw a yellow Star. A pink puffball with red shoes was on the Star.
???: Hi!
Mario: Wait, it's Kirby!
Kirby: Hi Mario! Piyo!
Kirby left.
Mario: We need to get going. What is that?
Mario saw a group of astroids blocking the moon. The X-Naut base was on the moon, but the astroids were blocking the path.
Mario: @%#$! It looks like the only way to get to the base is to get past the asteroids... I need to look for a hole…
Mario moved the Star closer to the asteroids, looking for a gap. Mario saw one at the top, but it was too small.
Mario: Arghh... The gap is too small, but we need to get through. Hold on, guys. We are going in.
Mario moved to the gap and stepped on the Star, speeding it up. The Star moved closer to the gap each second, and while it was doing so, Mario had two choices. If he lowered down, he would lose control and might even crash into an asteroid. On the other hand, if he didn't do so he would get flung off the Star by the asteroid wall. So, he had to take the chance...
Mario: Ok. When we get to the gap, we-a have to lower ourselves. I know I might lose control, but we have to try.
Koops: Ok.
Luigi: Okie dokie.
Mario moved the Star closer to the gap, knowing he had to bend down or get knocked off.
Mario: 3, 2, 1... NOW!
Mario and Co. lowered down in a split second.
Luigi: Ahh!
Koops: Wah!
WHOOSH!
Mario: Woah... Woah... That was a close one.
Luigi: Did we make it?
Mario: Yes.
Koops: I see something!
Koops pointed at a base on the moon. It had a high-tech look and had an X-Naut symbol on the side. They had found the X-Naut base, but the trio noticd some changes to it. First it was larger, having more levels. Second there was a roof on top. Third it took up more space in the dome.
Mario: This is it.
Mario moved the Star near to the entrance, where the party got off and went inside the base.
Mario: We're in.
Koops: Nobody's here...
But, he was wrong.
???: Halt! Who's there?
Mario, hearing this, turned to see three X-Nauts in the room. One of them was a PhD.
X-Naut PhD: You can't go any further!
Luigi: We'll see about that!
Mario punched the first X-Naut in the face, and followed it with Flaming Fist, knocking him out. The PhD, enraged, threw a beaker at Mario, poisoning him.
Luigi: Thunderhand!
ZaAaAaAp!
X-Naut PhD: BlagidiBlagidiBlagidiAGGG! Here! Take this!
The PhD threw a beaker at the second X-Naut. The X-Naut drank the potion, tripling his size. The now giant X-Naut jumped at Luigi and crushed him. Then he picked up the green plumber and tossed him to the wall. Mario tossed his hammer at the X-Naut and afterwards the poison harmed him. The X-Naut turned around to come after Mario, but Mario jumped and kicked the X-Naut's face. Meanwhile the PhD was dealing with Koops. He tossed a beaker at Koops, but Koops reflected the beaker back at the PhD, burning him. Mario followed by tossing a Freezie at the PhD. Normally it would have left him frozen, but this time it just put out the fire on the PhD. Still, it did damage. The PhD and the X-Naut charged at the trio at the same, but the X-Naut was the only one who did damage, crushing Luigi and Koops due to his massive bulk. The PhD wasn't so lucky however, because Mario grabbed him, tossed him in the air, and did Fire Spiral him, knocking him out. The X-Naut went back to his normal size and Luigi punched him, knocking him out.
Mario: Ohh... I feel sick...
Koops: Have a Tasty Tonic.
Mario grabbed the Tonic from Koops and drank it, recovering.
Mario: Thanks.
Luigi: We need to get going.
Mario and Co. entered the 1st floor hallway. Along the way to the end they fought an X-Naut. At the end, they ran into something.
Luigi: What's this?
The room that they were in had a red card, but it was guarded by a high voltage floor along with a laser beam that would activate if the card was taken.
Mario: We need to get the card.
Luigi: How are we supposed to get across?
Mario looked closely at the colored floor and noticed a couple of tiles were moving slightly differently from the others.
Mario: A few of the squares have a different color movement than the others. Let's follow that path.
The trio carefully crossed the path of the floor, trying not to touch the electrified tiles. Afterwards, the trio got the card key. But...
Intercom: Intruder alert! Intruder alert! Card Key has been stolen!
The laser beam activated and started shooting at Mario and Co. The floor shut down, allowing the trio to pass and leave the room.
Koops: Man! That was close...
Mario: Luigi, let me see the card key.
Luigi: Okay.
Luigi handed the card key to Mario. Mario turned the card to the front side and started reading.
Mario: It says,
Elevator Key, floors 1 and 2
Luigi: This must be the card key for this floor.
Koops: Let's use the elevator.
Mario and Co. walked to the elevator and placed the card key into the slot. Then the elevator doors opened, allowing Mario and Co. to get inside.
Computer Voice: Select your level.
There were two buttons on the wall. One said Lv. 1, the other said Lv. 2. Mario pressed the button that said Lv. 2. The elevator doors closed, and the elevator moved upwards. When it stopped, the doors opened. Mario and Co. stepped out.
Mario: Level 2.
An X-Naut was walking by, and when he saw Mario and Co...
X-Naut: You're going down!
POW!
Koops: (Not this time.)
Mario: Let's-a go.
Mario and Co. walked across the second floor hallway, fighting X-Nauts along the way. They got the second card key by avoiding laser beams, but then they saw someone.
???: Who's there? Let me out, please!
Mario, hearing this, turned to see a princess imprisoned in a cell. Neither Mario nor Koops knew this princess, but Luigi did. Luigi looked at the princess for a few seconds, and then, he realized it was...
Luigi: Eclair?
Eclair: Luigi! Thank goodness you’re here to save me!
Eclair noticed Mario and Koops.
Eclair: Who are they?
Luigi: Oh, them? Well, that's Mario and Koops.
Mario: It's-a me!
Koops: Hi.
Eclair: Let me out! They are extracting my energy!
Luigi: How?
Eclair: Look up.
Mario and Co. raised their heads and saw a glowing light above Eclair.
Mario: That must be the thing extracting your-a energy. How do I destroy it, and how do I get you out of this cell?
Eclair: They frayed the controls for the cell. Destroy the transformer on the roof. The cell should open.
Koops: Okay.
Mario and Co. went to the next elevator to go to the third floor and get the third card key. After they did so, Amy appeared in front of them.
Mario: What do you want?
Amy: My youngest sister is here, but I need to tell you something about her. She is... is different. I can't tell you. The reason is, it's secret. It's supposed to be between me and my other sisters.
Koops: I know her name. It's Rosemary.
Amy: How did you know?
Koops: I found a letter in Toad Town sewers that has her name on it.
Amy: Oh. Anyway, be careful. You must free Rosemary along with Eclair. I'm counting on you.
Mario: Thanks-a.
Amy disappeared with her magic.
Luigi: What does she mean by "different"?
Mario: I don't know, but we need-a to go.
The trio used the cards on the slots on the door on the fourth floor. In the next room they faced many traps similar to the ones back at Wart and Wario's castles, such as fire spreaders, gas holes, anvils, lasers, and spiked balls. When they reached the next room they fought a giant X-Naut and defeated him. After this...
X-Naut: Leave me alone! I surrender!
Mario: How do I get up to the-a roof?
X-Naut: Follow me.
The trio followed the X-Naut to the fifth floor. When they got there the X-Naut started typing on a computer. After finishing typing, a lift came down. This lift led to the roof.
X-Naut: There. This lift leads to the roof.
Mario: Thanks. Let's-a go, guys!
Luigi: Okie dokie!
Koops: Okay!
Mario and Co. stepped into the lift. Mario pulled the lever and the lift went up.
Koops: Well, we're at the roof. What should we do?
Luigi: I dunno.
???: GAACK ACK ACK ACK ACK!
???2: BUH! BUH! BUH! BUH HUH HUH!
Mario: Who's there?
Suddenly there was a large thud, and Mario and Co. turned to see…
Mario, Koops, and Luigi: GRODUS!!!
Mario noticed something different. Grodus's head was placed in a new version of Magnus von Grapple, Magnus von Grapple 3.0. Inside the Magnus von Grapple, through the glass window on the chest, was...
Luigi: Oh no, CRUMP!
Crump: Hey, you losers! Check out Magnus von Grapple 3.0! I made two dozen modifications! And, I attached Grodus' head so he can have a new body! Buh! Buh! Buh!
Mario: Shut up. Grodus, why were the-a X-Nauts back at Wario's castle?
Grodus: Wario didn't have any minions, so I sent some X-Nauts to protect him!
Mario: Also, who was the subject of your project?
Grodus: What project?
Mario: THE PROJECT ABOUT SOMEONE BEING IMPLANTED WITH THE MECHA ANGEL PIECES!
Grodus: Why should I tell you? There's no reason for me to tell you.
Mario: Fine. But I am still taking you and Crump down.
Crump: Fine by me!
Grodus: You will know my power!
Crump: Ahem.
Grodus: I mean, you will know our power!
BOSS! Magnus von Grapple 3.0
Mario: SUPER PUNCH JUMP!
Jump.... POWPOWPOW!
Crump: AHHARGH! Magnus von Whirlwind!

Grodus: Any last words, Mario?
Mario: Ow... My head...
Suddenly the red and orange Sacred Star went around Mario, powering him up.
Mario: Whhaa? I feel powerful...
Grodus: NNNOOOOO!
Mario: Time to finish this. FIRE STAR!
FFFFWWWWOOOOOMMMM!
Grodus and Crump: AAAAARRRGGGGHH!
Mario: Hyper Fire Spiral!
JUMP! WWHHOOSH! WHOOSH! POOOWWW! FWWOOOMM!
Grodus and Crump: WWWYYYARGGHHHH!
Mario: GIANT FIREBALL!
Fling! BBBBOOOOOOMMMMM!
Crump: ....
Grodus: Arrggghhhh...
Suddenly there was a yellow glow coming from the Magnus von Grapple. Mario looked inside and found the yellow Sacred Star.
Mario: That's three.
Mario grabbed the yellow Sacred Star.
Koops: Where's the transformer?
Luigi: I dunno.
Mario went to the edge of the roof and saw a generator off to the side.
Mario: That's the-a transformer but, how do I destroy it?
Mario looked at the roasted Magnus von Grapple.
Mario: That should do it.
Mario grabbed the Magnus von Grapple and tossed it at the generator, destroying Crump, Grodus, and the Magnus von Grapple. The transformer then exploded with a loud BBOOOOMMMM!
Mario: That should take care of him. Now to find Rosemary.
Mario and Co. stepped on the lift, went down, and got off. The trio went inside and were in the Testing Room.
Luigi: Well, we are in the testing room. What should we do here?
Koops: I dunno. I think we should take a break or something. I don't know... Mario? What are you looking at?
Mario: Guys, get over here.
Luigi and Koops went to where Mario was. There they saw a metal table. On the metal table was a 16-year-old girl who had a Mushroom cap with rainbow spots, black hair, and brown eyes. She was asleep and her right eye was halfway opened. However, that did not suprise Mario and Co. What suprised them was that she had sky blue, orange, white, and yellow armor all over her body except her head, upper legs, and left hand. Her left hand was made of pure gold. Her upper legs were made of leather, but they were covered by a short dress from the waist. Wires were connected all over her body.
Luigi: Who do you think that person is?
Mario: I think... I don't know. I think she might be the one who was implanted with the Pieces.
Koops: Let's wake her up.
Mario and Co. went down to remove the wires from the girl, and Mario shook her slightly.
Luigi: Is she waking up?
Koops: No.
Mario: I think I need to shake her harder, but not too hard.
Mario shook the girl harder, and after this, she moved.
Luigi: She's waking up.
???: Ohhh... Amy? Is that you? Wait... You're not Amy...
Mario: I know, because it's-a me, Mario.
???: Mario? I know you. I went with my sisters to check on you before the Pidgit captured us.
Mario: Who are you?
???: It's Rosemary.
Luigi: It's-a me, Luigi!
Koops: The name's Koops.
Rosemary: Thanks for saving me. Can I aid you guys on your quest to get the Sacred Stars and the Princesses of Heart?
Mario: Sure. I needed another ally anyway. And you must be the one implanted with the Pieces.
Rosemary: Ok! By the way, I am a Toad/Human/Mecha Angel hybrid.
Mario: We need to get out of here.
So Mario, Koops, Luigi, and the newly added Rosemary went back to the second floor, where they meet up with Eclair.
Mario: We'll take you home, Eclair.
Eclair: Thanks for saving me.
All five went to the room where the teleporter was, went inside the teleporter, and were sent back to Plit. There the quartet took Eclair back to the Waffle Kingdom. Afterwards, they went back to Mario's Pad.
Mario: Man, that was intense...
Luigi: We still have a long way to go...
Koops: We must stop Bowser and his allies to restore peace...
Rosemary: And save the Princesses of Heart.
Mario took out four Mushrooms, giving one to Luigi, one to Koops, one to Rosemary, and keeping one for himself. Then they slowly chewed on the Mushrooms.
Back in Dark Land...
Bowser: AAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHH!
Wendy: What's wrong, Daddy?
Bowser: It's Mario... He's foiling my plan!
Wendy: I can fight him!
Bowser: Good, and remember this, he has allies with him. You need to go harder on them.
Wendy: Yes, Daddy.
Wendy left.
Bowser: Mario is taking the Stars and Princesses... I really need to set some measures...
Meanwhile, Peach was in her cell sleeping. In her dream she saw a shadow grabbing her, taking her to a castle, and placing her on a table. Then she felt like she couldn't move and passed out. Then she woke up.
Peach: What was that? Oh well, it's just a dream...
Peach went back to sleep.
Chapter 3 is finished. What was that dream that Peach had? What is the secret of the Mecha Angels? What will Bowser do to stop Mario? Will Mario and Co. take Bowser down once and for all? Find out in Chapter 4.
