Phil: Previously on The Amazing Race MK: 11 teams of two embarked on an amazing journey from Poshley Heights. Teams included two sets of sisters, who eventually teamed up; friends from Mario’s adventures; evildoers; and someone named Booster.
Booster: CHEESEBURGERS!!!
Phil: Their first stop was Bowser’s Castle, which threw many teams for a loop. The confusing hallways and notoriously twisted design of the castle ended up getting many teams lost. The first flight to the castle was delayed, which allowed teams that thought they were behind to surge ahead. Unknowingly, Kat & Ana checked in first.
Kat: How’d we get first?
Phil: In the end, it was evil sisters and Shadow Sirens Beldam & Marilyn who were eliminated. 10 teams remain. The race has just begun, and it’s about to get tougher. Who will be eliminated… next?
The title plays with a red X over Beldam & Marilyn.
Phil, voiceover: *shots of Bowser’s Castle, thunder* THIS, Is Bowser’s Castle! Situated in the center of Dark Land, this foreboding castle looms over all in the land. It is the home of Bowser, (standing amongst many minions, end voiceover) and was the first Pit Stop… in a race around the MK! Teams arrived here for a mandatory rest period. Will the early-formed alliance between sisters Kat & Ana and sisters Dixie & Tiny last? Or will it crumble? Kat & Ana, who were the first to arrive at 10:09 pm… will depart… at 10:09 AM.

Kat: Begin your journey by flying to Mushroom Kingdom City, then take a train to Rose Town!
Phil: Teams must now fly more than 1,000 miles to Mushroom Kingdom City, the capital of the Mushroom Kingdom. Used as the filming spot for Peach’s Castle during Super Mario RPG, this bustling city is a metropolis. Teams must then catch a train and ride an additional 100 miles to Rose Town, where they will find their next clue.
Ana: You have 150 coins for this leg of the race!

Phil: Teams must now enter the nearby forest, infamously known as the Forest Maze. Its notoriously confusing and twisted paths may leave teams lost, forever… Teams will find their next clue a few meters into the forest… if they don’t get lost by then.

***Foshi: We wanted to come in first on this leg, but because of the randomness of that forest, our chances were diminished.

Both: DETOUR!
Phil: A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its own pros and cons! This Detour will send teams deep into the heart of the Maze looking for one of two things! The choice? Fungi or Fun Guy! In Fungi, teams will receive pictures of Mushrooms that grow inside this forest and will be instructed to harvest 10 of them. However, what teams don’t know is that an ambiguous creature known as an Amanita often pretends to be a Mushroom, so teams may get more bite from their Mushroom. In Fun Guy, teams walk a short distance to this field of logs. Once there, they must figure out how to obtain 1 Frog Coin. The way to do this is to jump on a Wiggler many consecutive times until he gives one up. This task is simpler, but teams will have no idea what they’re doing.
Xoshi: Yep, they’re both in the forest…
Foshi: Ugghhh…
Xoshi: Let’s go pick the Mushrooms. Sounds easy enough. We’ll just follow paths until we find some.

Phil: A Roadblock is a task that only one person may perform! No person may do more than six Roadblocks on the entire race! This Roadblock allows this forest to truly live up to its name, and allows teams to fully “enjoy” that. In this Roadblock, one team member will be muted by this Octolot so they cannot help the one participating in the Roadblock. The participating team member will be given a very rudimentary map of the most confusing areas of the Forest. Only certain landmarks and the finish have been identified. Teams must use this map to find the area where Mario battled Bowyer in Super Mario RPG, which is the Pit Stop for this leg of the race. The last team to check in here… may be eliminated.
