Crazy
Packers Fan has ranked all of Mario 3's enemies based on their power...
and yes, there is some personal biases involved.
Ranking | Enemy | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Roy Koopa | He shakes the floor AND Mario’s usually weak coming into battle. |
| Ludwig von Koopa | He too shakes the floor, but Mario’s usually at full power coming into battle. |
| Wendy O. Koopa | Those candy rings don’t taste good. |
| Bowser Koopa | The fireballs hurt, but Bowser has a weakness to a weapon. |
| Lemmy Koopa | Those circus balls really pack a punch. |
| Boss Bass | He’s the only creature that can kill with one hit. |
| Roto Disc | It’s hard to kill, and easy to get hurt by. |
| Fire Chomp | It would surprise you how much these guys can hurt. |
| Buster Beetle | Although not fireproof, Buster Beetle is the best when it comes to tossing things at bad times. |
| Spiny Egg | Although easy to get rid of, if you have no firepower, these are the worst things to see falling from the sky. |
| Lakitu | This is the thrower of the Spiny Eggs which sometimes turn into Spinies, Lakitu is a pain by himself. |
| Iggy Koopa | This guy is fast, but not tricky enough. |
| Fire Brothers | These are the most unpredictable of all the Brothers. |
| Blooper Baby | The Babies are unbeatable, and unpredictable as well. |
| Blooper Nanny | This is the one who carries the unbeatable and unpredictable Babies, bringing problems as well. |
| Rocky Wrench | He’s good at tossing even more problems your way. |
| Sledge Brother | Big, tubby Brothers that shake the ground make matters worse for Mario. |
| Boom Boom | Remember him? Don’t even say you don’t. Boom-Boom appears in what seems like a million fortresses, and always puts up a good fight, unless you have a weapon. |
| Boo Diddly | How can Boo Diddly be described in a sentence? What a pain! |
| Micro-Goomba | These little, tiny Goombas restrict Mario’s jumping and make some more Mario mayhem. |
| Para-Goomba with Micro-Goombas | The worst of the two Para-Goombas, this Para-Goomba flies in Mario’s direction AND carries those stupid Micro-Goombas TOO. |
| Cheep Cheep | The worst ones of these are the flying ones, and the swimming ones aren’t bad either. |
| Hammer Brother | These troublesome Brothers still can make Mario’s life miserable. |
| Jelectro | Invincibility and water currents and scrolling screens all add up to a high ranking for the Jelectro. |
| Parabeetle | How are these hard to beat? If you kill one, you’ll lose a stepping stone, and that’s not good for completing the level. It’s a sort-of-protection in itself for the Parabeetles. |
| Spiny Cheep Cheep | Annoying and bad-looking, Spiny Cheep-Cheeps are no worse than normal Cheeps, but swim out of nowhere to hurt Mario. |
| The Angry Sun | World 8-2 is the best level for this angry guy, although he does also appear in the World 2 Desert. It’s nearly impossible to beat him there. |
| Ptooie | A sometimes-pipeless, sometimes-in-a-pipe Piranha, the Ptooie spits a spiked ball from its mouth and balances it there, shooting it up and down. He is hard to get by if you don’t have fireballs or a tail. |
| Thwomp | These ugly blue blocks can smash Mario easily if he’s not careful. |
| Fiery Walking Piranha | Technically not a “walking” Piranha, this guy is a Nipper that fires fireballs at you. Although not hard to avoid, he is kind-of-tough to beat. |
| Hot Foot | He’s like the Boo Diddly, only hotter. |
| Big Bertha | Not only does Big Bertha spit out babies, but she’s also really BIG, which can lead to problems in enclosed water areas. |
| Lava Lotus | At the end of 7-4, you’ll have a hard time getting past this Fiery water Piranha if you don’t swim by it right away. |
| Missile Bill | The “red”-hot Missile Bill can change directions at a moment’s notice, causing big problems at times. |
| Blooper | Blooper is fast at swimming AND homes in on you. |
| Venus Fire Trap | This fiery Piranha is easily avoided but always around to cause at least SOME trouble. |
| Spiny | Spinies make it hazardous to jump around when thrown by Lakitus. |
| Rocket Engines | These red-hot engines can really burn Mario up if Mario accidentally hits one, giving them this relatively high ranking. |
| Larry Koopa | Easy to beat, Larry offers little challenge in the first doomship. |
| Boomerang Brothers | These guys can “come back” to haunt you later if you simply jump over them. |
| Chain Chomp | Although chained up, this Chomp can still cause trouble if Mario jumps poorly. |
| Nipper | These Nipper plants can cause a lot of trouble if Mario’s trying to make a precise jump. |
| Munchers | These almost invincible Munchers can only be beaten in a crazy way- which makes them kind of elusive when it comes to trying to capture and defeat them. (You’ll only understand the capturing part if you know how to beat them.) |
| Morton Koopa Jr. | Slow and easy to beat, Morton isn’t very tough, so he gets this low ranking. |
| Buzzy Beetle | You can’t fireball this guy! |
| Colossal Koopa Paratroopa | These “big guys” can sometimes hit a block and change direction on you, which can hurt. |
| Spike | Spike is almost a difficult enemy- but not quite. |
| Stretch | It’s a “stretch” to say he’s a hard one to get by, but Stretch is one of those strange and sometimes difficult enemies. |
| Bullet Bill | Beware the Bullet Bill! Of course, if you’re in your right mind, you can just as easily stomp him. |
| Piranhacus Giganticus | This huge Piranha doesn’t stay in its pipe if you stand next to it, so it might take you by surprise. |
| Firesnake | This jumpy guy can hurt you if you’re in an enclosed area. |
| Dry Bones | Dry Bones keeps coming back- and that can hurt SOMETIMES. |
| Bob-omb | One Bob-omb in world 7-5 can almost automatically hit you if you get stuck underneath invisible blocks. Sometimes, they’ll hit you on the tanks, but not most of the time. |
| Baby Cheep | You’d be surprised how much this little fish can hurt you! |
| Red Koopa Paratroopa | Smarter Koopa Paratroopas wear red, which is why he won’t bounce or fly off a cliff. |
| Podoboo | Sometimes this lava ball will take you by surprise. |
| Pile-Driver Micro-Goomba | This brick lookalike can ALSO sometimes surprise you! (How many times have I said that?) |
| Red Giant Koopa Troopa | These smarter Koopa Troopas don’t walk or run off cliffs, and they’re bigger. |
| Red Koopa Troopa | These smarter Koopa Troopas don’t walk or run off cliffs, but they’re small. |
| Kuribo’s Goomba | Sometimes he’ll slip through a crack and hit you. |
| Para-Goomba (without Micro-Goombas) | Sometimes these almost-jumpers will hurt you. |
| Hanging Piranha Plant | Sometimes he will ALSO take you by surprise if you’re in a hurry and running. |
| Green Koopa Paratroopa | These guys jump up and down but also go off cliffs sometimes. |
| Green Gargantua Koopa Troopa | Huger Koopa Troopas are better, but not smarter. |
| Piranha Plant | The second World 7 Fortress has the hardest Piranha Plant in the game at the very beginning, except if you have hammers. |
| Grand Goomba | Easy to beat, but a bit bigger. |
| Green Koopa Troopa | These sometimes walk off cliffs stupidly, and they’re small. |
| Goomba | If you have trouble with him, turn off the game. Right now. |
