(The episode opens to a shot of Mario and co. walking through a forest of giant mushrooms in the wintertime. Mario is wearing a scarf, Luigi is wearing earmuffs, while Princess is wearing a red shawl and carrying a picnic basket.)
Mario: *in his mind* Plumber's Log Number 7-98. We were traveling to the far woods of the Mushroom Kingdom, so the Princess could visit her sick grandmother. But that sickie Koopa, was busy making other plans.
(The four of them stop when they see a village up ahead.)
Princess: There's the village! And that's Pine the woodcutter's cottage! Gramma's place is just over the river and through those woods! Oh, I can't wait!
Luigi: I can!
Mario: First, we'd better get inside by a fire, before we turn into pastasicles!
(Mario and Co arrive at Pine's cottage and Princess knocks on the door.)
Princess: Hello? Hello? Pine? Anybody home?
(The door opens on its own. Princess and Toad enter, followed by the Marios, and they find Pine and his wife frozen in blocks of ice.)
Toad: Look at that! They're frozen solid!
Princess: Quick, Mario! We have to build a fire and melt these Mushrooms!
(Mario walks up to the fireplace.)
Mario: There isn't any wood!
Toad: Leave it to the Mushroom of Might to chop some!
(Mario and Co run outside, but they stop as they see Koopa and two Troopas drive up to them on snowmobiles. The snowmobiles come to a stop, but not without covering Mario and Co in some snow.)
Koopa: Well, if it isn't Princess Goody-Good, the fungus, and her plumbing punk friends!
Princess: Koopa! Are you the heartless slime who froze the poor woodcutter?
Koopa: Save the insults, Princess! I'm putting you all on ice!
(Koopa pulls out a Bob-omb and hurls it at the roof. It blows up the roof, and a huge pile of snow ends up falling on top of Mario and Co, burying them.)
Koopa: Freeze in peace, losers! *laugh* It makes me feel so warm, to be so cold! Let's Koop out, Troopas! We've got more wood to steal, and more Mushrooms to chill! *laugh*
(Koopa and the Troopas drive off. Toad then pops out of the snow bank.)
Toad: Yow! Don't bury me; cuz I'm not froze yet! I'll save ya guys!
(Cut to the inside of the cottage. Everyone is inside, and Pine and his wife have been unfrozen. There is a fire going and Toad adds another log to it.)
Pine: Koopa stole everyone's wood, and all the villagers are frozen!
Princess: *shivers* Oh, that crud, Koopa! If he's done anything to Gramma. Oh my Mushroom, Gramma! I've got to get to Gramma's before it's too late!
(Princess runs towards the door.)
Mario, Luigi and Toad: Wait for us!
(The Marios and Toad follow her. Princess stops and faces the others.)
Princess: You guys have to stay here! You have to chop wood, and defrost the Mushroom villagers!
Toad: But Princess! These woods aren't safe! The Big Bad Wolf lives there!
Princess: Who's afraid of a big bad wolf?
(Princess grabs her picnic basket and runs out the door. She runs through the village and is now in another part of the woods.)
Princess: I've got to get some wood to Gramma before she freezes!
(Princess picks up some sticks lying on the ground and puts them into her basket.)
Princess: That Koopa is a cold, callous wolf!
(Princess runs off, unaware that she is being spied on through a telescope by a wolf dressed up like a swashbuckler.)
Wolf: Koopa's no wolf! I'm a wolf! And the moment I've been waiting for is here at last! Little Red Riding Hood is on her way to Grandmother's house! I'll just beat her to Gramma's and she'll be mine! Mmm, yummy yummy! Little Red Riding Hood in my tummy!
(Elsewhere, Koopa is also spying on Princess through a telescope.)
Koopa: The Princess got defrosted! Huh?
(A Troopa drives up to him.)
Troopa: She's all alone in the woods without those drain brain plumbers for protection, your nastiness!
Koopa: I'll just beat her to that old bag Gramma's, and the princess will be mine! *laugh*
(Cut to Gramma's cottage. Gramma walks over to the fireplace, where she has a pot cooking over the fire.)
Gramma: Mmm mmm! It smells like it's just about done!
(The fire dies down and Gramma starts to shiver.)
Gramma: Not a moment too soon, either! Oh, my Mushroom! What will I do when the wood runs out?
(Gramma takes the pot from the fireplace and places it on the table, just as she hears a knock on the door.)
Gramma: Who is it?
Koopa: Opportunity knocking!
Gramma: But I don't know anyone named Opportunity!
(Gramma walks up to the door.)
Koopa: Uh, good fortune! A turn of luck! That's what you've been looking for! Happy days are here again!
(Gramma starts to unlock the many locks while Koopa is speaking.)
Koopa: Open the door, you old bitty!
(Gramma opens the door and sees Koopa dressed up like a messenger.)
Koopa: Telegram for Grandmother Toadstool!
(Koopa hands Gramma an envelope.)
Gramma: That's me! I'm Grandmother Toadstool!
(Gramma opens the envelope and reads the message.)
Gramma: My goodness! I've won a year's supply of wood and all I have to do is go to town to claim it!
Koopa: Well, then you better get going! On your way now!
(Koopa grabs Gramma by her arm and pulls her down the yard to the gate.)
Koopa: (to himself) You old bat, you!
Gramma: But a sick and elderly old lady like me can't make that long walk to town in the cold.
(Koopa smacks his head. He then walks off screen and returns pushing his snowmobile towards Gramma.)
Koopa: Here! It's heated, and it's new! Drive careful!
Gramma: A... snowmobile? But it's been years since... I've ridden a baby like this!
(Gramma gladly gets on the snowmobile and drives off. In another area near Gramma's house, the wolf runs up to a mushroom and stops to catch his breath.)
Wolf: What a run! The old gray wolf isn't what he used to be! But it's all gonna be worth it! Because, dinner is about to be served!
[Note: The wolf is brown, not gray.]
(The wolf arrives at the cottage and sneaks in through a window. He sees Koopa, dressed in Gramma's cap and nightgown, sleeping in bed, and gasps. Koopa wakes up and gasps when he sees the wolf.)
Wolf/Koopa: Hey!
Wolf: What are you doing here?
(Koopa gets out of bed.)
Koopa: Me? What are you doin' here?
Wolf: I'm setting a trap for Little Red Riding Hood.
Koopa: Sorry fleabag! The trap's already set!
(The wolf growls at Koopa. Koopa snaps his fingers and some Troopas enter the cottage.)
Koopa: Get this wimpy wolf outta here!
(The Troopas beat up the wolf, tie him up, and carry him away.)
Wolf: You're making a big mistake, Koopa.
Koopa: Who cares, wolf? Now, back to the business!
(Koopa gets back into bed. Princess then arrives at the front door and knocks.)
Koopa: (in a phony voice) Come in, Dearie!
Princess: Poor Gramma doesn't sound too good!
(Princess enters and walks up to the bed. Koopa hides his head under the covers.)
Koopa: Hello my darling sweetness!
Princess: Hello, grandmother. My, what a strange voice you have!
Koopa: The better to talk to you with, my dear!
Princess: Gramma, what a big snout you have!
Koopa: (in his real voice) Hey, watch it! (phony voice) I mean, the better to smell the goodies with!
Princess: Oh my mushroom! Gramma, what sharp teeth you have!
Koopa: The better to eat you with, you meddling princess!
(Koopa jumps out of bed and chases Princess around the room while laughing.)
Princess: Yow!
(Princess circles around a table, trying to avoid Koopa. She then hides under the bed. When she crawls out the other side, Koopa is standing there, and pulls her out.)
Princess: You should be ashamed of yourself! Breaking in here and wearing my grandmother's clothes!
(Koopa carries Princess over to the mirror and admires himself.)
Koopa: Actually, I think the color looks great on me!
Princess: Let's see how great my basket of goodies looks on you!
(Princess throws her basket at Koopa's foot, leaving it bruised and causing him to hop on his other foot.)
Koopa: Ow! I didn't mind when you insulted my nightgown, but this is too much!
(Cut to Pine's cottage. Gramma is outside talking to Pine.)
Gramma: But the telegram said I'd won a year's supply of wood!
Pine: Lady, we don't even have a minute's supply of wood here!
Gramma: Now who would pull a terrible prank like that on an old lady?
Mario, Luigi and Toad: Koopa!
(The three of them walk up to the cottage carrying some logs.)
Mario: I'll bet he did it to get you out of your cottage so he could-
Gramma: Capture my granddaughter!
Mario: You stay here, Gramma! We'll go rescue the Princess!
(The Marios and Toad get on the snowmobile.)
Mario: How do you start this thing?
(Toad pushes a button, which starts the engine.)
Toad: Like that!
(They drive off. Cut to the cottage. Koopa is back to chasing Princess around the table.)
Koopa: This is getting us nowhere!
Princess: You give up?
Koopa: A Koopa never quits! He just calls for reinforcements!
(Koopa walks up to the window.)
Koopa: Koopa Pack! Attack!
(Koopa lunges at Princess, but misses. Princess runs out the door and Koopa follows. When she runs out the gate, she swings it back and it hits Koopa.)
Koopa: Ow! You'll never escape, Princess!
(Cut to a river. The only way for Princess
to get across is by stepping-stones. She begins to make her way across,
but one of the stones is actually an oxygen tank. When she steps on it,
Koopa rises out of the water
wearing goggles and a wetsuit over
the nightgown.)
Princess: You sneaky Koopa!
(Koopa pulls out the mouthpiece.)
Koopa: Do us both a favor and surrender!
Princess: Not a mushroom's chance in soup!
(Princess sticks the mouthpiece back into Koopa mouth and fiddles with the knob on the tank, causing Koopa to inflate and float upwards.)
Princess: See ya later, windbag!
(Princess crosses the river while Koopa keeps floating. He pulls out the mouthpiece.)
Koopa: Woah! I was ready to explode!
(Koopa starts to deflate and goes flying around like a balloon.)
Koopa: Woah!
(Koopa then lands elsewhere in the snow and spots Princess walking nearby.)
Koopa: Huh? This couldn't have worked out better if I planned it!
(Koopa removes the oxygen tank and runs up to Princess, who gasps.)
Koopa: Nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide, Princess!
(A whip is heard from off screen.)
Mario: Not so fast, Koopa!
(Koopa turns and sees the Marios and Toad. Mario is using a plumber snake as a whip. Koopa grabs a hold of Princess.)
Koopa: Put the plumber snake away, garlic breath!
Toad: That's not fair!
Koopa: Fair? Fair? You talking to me about fair, mushroom mouth? *laughs*
Mario: Check this out, Luigi!
(Mario uses his whip to lasso Koopa's leg and trips him. Mario then starts pulling Koopa towards himself.)
Mario: We gotcha now, Koopa!
(Some Troopas show up on snowmobiles, with Gramma tied up.)
Koopa: Think again plumb scum! I got you now!
(Koopa gets up and Mario removes the plumber snake. Koopa hits Gramma on the head.)
Gramma: You know, sonny, you're a real jerk!
Princess: You let my grandmother go!
Koopa: Wrong, Little Red Whining Princess! You're both coming with me!
(Koopa grabs Princess and drives off with the Troopas.)
Luigi: What are we gonna do now, Mario?
(Cut to the outside of a cave, where the Marios are Toad are hiding behind a rock.)
Mario: The snowmobile tracks lead into that cave!
Luigi: You don't think the real Big Bad Wolf is in there do ya? *laughs*
(The three of them enter the cave and see two snowmobiles parked at the entrance. Mario gets onto one, while Luigi and Toad get on the other one and they drive further into the cave. Deep in the cave is the wolf's lair, where all the stolen wood is being held. There's also a throne atop a high platform. Koopa walks up to the throne, where Princess and Gramma are both tied up and he sits down.)
Koopa: Huh?
(A wolf claw touches Koopa on the shoulder. Koopa turns around a sees a wolf, which growls at him.)
Koopa: Woah!
(Koopa sees two more wolves at the bottom of the platform. He unties the ladies and pretty much throws them to the wolves. He shouts, jumps off the platform, and runs away. The wolves reveal themselves as the Marios and Toad in costumes, as Mario unzips his.)
Mario: Hi, Gramma Toadstool! Hi, Princess!
(The three of them remove their costumes and toss them aside. Princess gives Gramma a hug.)
Princess: Oh, Gramma! I'm so glad you're safe!
(The wolf is also in the lair, as he picks up the costumes.)
Wolf: I shall have to send my spare winter coats to the cleaners!
Princess: You know, you're not such a Big Bad Wolf after all!
Wolf: Oh believe me! I'm big, and I'm bad! I just don't like that stoopa Koopa cutting in on my territory.
(He begins to walk off.)
Wolf: Um, Princess, ditch the red hood. It isn't safe in the woods.
(Cut to Pine's cottage, where all the wood has been restored, and Mushroomers are walking away with logs.)
Pine: Well, the firewood you took back from Koopa should be enough to keep the Mushroom people cozy all winter long!
Gramma: You know, Dearie, I've enjoyed your visit, but do me one favor. Next time let me come and visit you!
(Everyone laughs. Princess then gives her Gramma a kiss on the cheek.)
