Crocodile Mario

Submitted by Hip

(The episode opens to an upside-down Australia-like land, where the sky resembles the ground, which is upside-down, and the ground resembles the sky with some scenery here and there. Mario and Co are walking on a boardwalk towards a town.)

Mario: (in his mind) Plumber's Log, Number 33-12. We were down in Down Under Land, searching for a magic statue that might help the princess protect her kingdom.

(The group walks past some Birdoroos, which are Birdos that wear Australian hats and carry their young in their pouches.)

Mario: Problem is, we arrived just as the statue was leaving!

(In the town, Koopa, who's wearing a safari outfit and an Australian hat, looks out from behind a building. He runs up to a statue that resembles Crocodile Dundee in the middle of the town, looks around, grabs it, and
runs. He goes past the city hall, where the mayor is standing on the front steps.)

Mayor: Thief! Thief! It's Kangaroo Koopa! Stop him, mates!

(Koopa runs past Mario and Co.)

Koopa: Outta my way! The statue is mine-

(As Koopa leaves the town, a lot of crocodiles enter the town.)

Koopa: -and the crocodiles are yours!

Mayor: It's not a g'day, mates! That magic statue Koopa stole is our protection against the crocodiles!

(The town's Mushroom citizens run around in panic.)

Mayor: Now they'll eat everyone in town!

Mario: I was hoping we'd have lunch, not be lunch!

(A crocodile sneaks up behind Toad.)

Luigi: Toad! Look out!

Princess: Oh dear! I think he wants Toad for an appetizer!

Mario: If I don't get to eat, neither does that crocodile!

(Mario jumps on the crocodile's back and starts to wrestle with it.)

Mario: I gotcha!

(The crocodile runs around, trying to flip Mario off of his back.)

Toad: Put that croc in shock, Mario!

(The crocodile swings Mario off with his tail.)

Mario: No wonder my crocodile skin suitcase was always so hard to close!

(The crocodile goes back towards the group.)

Luigi: Stop him, Mario! Tell him Italian food is not on his diet!

(The crocodile licks his chops as Luigi pulls out his plunger.)

Luigi: I warnin' you, swamp breath! Stay where you are! Please!

Mario: You call THAT a plumber's helper?

(Mario pulls out his plunger.)

Mario: Now THIS is a plumber's helper!

(One of the crocodiles lunges at Mario, who shoves his plunger into his mouth, forcing it to remain open. The crocodile then runs away.)

Princess: Way to go, Crocodile Mario!

(Another crocodile walks up to Princess and Toad, who scream and run off.)

Mayor: This way, mates! The only safe place is out on top of our general store!

(Princess and Toad enter the general store and shut the door. They then join the citizens, who have already taken refuge on the roof. Crocodiles then approach the building.)

Princess: What happens if those crocodiles decide to chew this building down?

(The crocodiles start chewing at the building, which is made of wood, and it slowly starts to lower.)

Toad: When we get down to street level, they start chewin' us!

Mayor: The mate's right! The only thing that can save us now is our magic statue!

Princess: Mario! Luigi! You've gotta get back that magic statue!

Mario: We heard ya, Princess! But we're a little busy right now!

(The crocodile with the plunger in his mouth spits it out next to Mario, who holds it out as the crocodiles approach him and Luigi.)

Luigi: Looks like you made him so mad, he brought his buddies to finish us off!

Mario: We're not finished yet! Piggyback Luigi, piggyback!

(Luigi gets onto Mario's back, and Mario uses his plunger as a pogostick. They jump over the crocodiles, landing on some of them, as they hop out of the town on the boardwalk.)

Luigi: I guess we showed those crocodiles whose boss! They won't snack on us!

Mario: No, but they can still get to Princess and Toad! Come on, we gotta get that magic statue back from Koopa!

(The Marios walk off, push a raft into a river, get on, and sail downstream.)

Mario: I'll look out for the danger, and you steer!

Luigi: I think you'd better steer, Mario!

Mario: Why's that?

(Luigi's eyes are closed.)

Luigi: Because I'm not openin' my eyes until we're safely outta here!

(Several Birdoroos who are standing on a boardwalk shoot eggs at them.)

Mario: Jumping gelato! It's a Birdoroo attack!

Luigi: Yeah, and they're hoppin' mad we invaded their swamp!

(The Marios dodge some more eggs.)

Luigi: Those rotten egg Birdoroos are gonna sink us!

Mario: Quick, paddle to the other side!

(The Marios pull out their plungers and paddle to the far side of the river. Koopa, who's up ahead, sees them.)

Koopa: I never thought those faucet flops would pick up my trail! But one thing's for sure, they won't trail me any farther! Koopa Pack, attack! Boomerang 'em!

(Several Troopas that are wearing Australian hats throw boomerangs at the river as the Marios sail past. The Marios duck under the boomerangs.)

Mario: Good news, Luigi! I think we found Koopa!

Luigi: How lucky can we get?

(More eggs and boomerangs are fired at the Marios.)

Luigi: If the boomerangs don't get us, the Birdoroo eggs will!

Mario: Nah, we'll get away from both of them! It's those rapids we have to worry about!

(Mario points to some rapids up ahead with rocks at the end.)

Luigi: Leapin' lasagna!

(The Marios start going down the rapids.)

Luigi: We'll crack up on the rocks!

(Cut to the town, where the crocodiles have already eaten away at the bottom half of the store.)

Princess: I just hope Mario and Luigi bring that magic statue back before this building collapses!

Mayor: You're right, Princess! It would be especially nice if those Mario mates got back before the big barbecue!

(The mayor points to a few crocodiles, who are standing in front of a barbecue.)

Toad: Yeah, because the barbecue is us!

Princess: Don't worry! I'm sure Mario and Luigi are doing everything they can.)

(Cut to the Marios, who are still in the rapids.)

Luigi: Mario! We're headin' right for that big rock! I hope it can steer better than we can!

(The raft is nearing the large rock.)

Mario: We're gonna crash, Luigi!

Luigi: I knew we should've built this raft with brakes!

Koopa: At last those pesky plumbers are all washed up! *laugh* I love Down Under Land! It's where the Mario Bros. went down, and under! *laugh*

Luigi: Looks like that rock's gonna pull our plug!

Mario: Not if Crocodile Mario has anything to say about it! My plumberang'll save us!

(Mario bends his plunger into a boomerang-like shape and throws it at a vine. It flies back to Mario, bringing the vine with it, and the Marios grab on.)

Mario: All ashore who goin' ashore!

Luigi: Abandon raft! Plumbers and cowards first!

(The Marios swing off the raft.)

Mario and Luigi: Geronimo!

(The rafts hit the rock and smashes up as the Marios swing onto a boardwalk.)

Luigi: Mario, I never knew you were such a swinger!

Mario: Now to find out where Koopa's hidden the magic statue!

(Cut to the town, where the crocodiles are still munching away at the store.)

Toad: If I'd known it was gonna be this dangerous, I would've gone with Mario and Luigi!

Princess: Another few chomps, and we're goners!

Mayor: We'd better head for higher ground, mates!

(The mayor jumps off of the roof onto a tree branch. He then signals for everyone else to do the same. Princess, Toad, and a few other people jump onto the branch, and a koala bear crawls up to them.)

Toad: Sorry, dude! We gotta borrow your tree for a while!

(By now, the crocodiles have devoured the entire store. They head over to the tree and start chomping on it.)

Princess: The Mario Bros. better get back with the magic statue soon, or there won't be anything left to get back to!

(Cut to the Marios, who are walking across a stretch of grass.)

Luigi: Whaddaya mean ya lost Koopa's trail?

Mario: I'm a plumber, Luigi, not a bloodhound!

Luigi: If we can't find Koopa, then we can't save the princess!

(A loud pounding noise is heard.)

Luigi: What's that sound?

Mario: Whatever it is, it's about to run over us! Duck!

(The Marios hide behind a bush as a stampede of crocodiles marches past them.)

Luigi: You're wrong, Mario! It wasn't ducks, it was crocodiles!

Mario: Yeah, scared crocodiles!

Luigi: Scared of what?

(Mario pounds his fist and a lightbulb appears next to his head.)

Mario: That's it! Luigi, you're a genius!

Luigi: I am? What'd I say?

Mario: Koopa, don't you get it? They were running from Koopa! He's got the magic statue that scares crocodiles away!

Luigi: I know he's got the magic statue, so what? We can't find him! We lost his trail!

(Mario points to some crocodile footprints.)

Mario: But these crocodile tracks should lead us right to Koopa!

Luigi: Really? I knew that! You said I was a genius!

(Meanwhile, Koopa is sleeping at the entrance to a cave, with the statue next to him. The Marios are now standing nearby.)

Mario: There's the magic statue! We'll grab it while Koopa's not looking! No worries!

Luigi: No worries? I got plenty of worries!

(The Marios walk up to the statue. Mario grabs it and they walk off, but Luigi trips on a rock, waking Koopa up.)

Koopa: Huh?

(The Marios run out of the cave.)

Koopa: Hey, you pathetic plunger pushers! Give me that back! That's mine! I stole it myself!

(Koopa runs after them.)

Koopa: Give me that statue!

Mario: No way, Koopa! Here, Luigi, catch!

(Mario tosses the statue back to Luigi.)

Luigi: Got him!

(Luigi tosses the statue back to Mario, who tosses it back to Luigi, and they keep on tossing it back to each other.)

Mario: I just love playing Koopa in the middle!

(Koopa growls as Mario runs back into town with the statue. When Mario runs past the crocodiles with the statue, they see it and run. They turn back when Luigi runs past, but Mario throws him the statue, scaring them off again. Luigi throws the statue back to Mario.)

Koopa: If there's anything I hate, it's a thief!

Mario: Me too, Koopa! And this is going back where it belongs!

(Meanwhile, the crocodiles have eaten through most of the tree's trunk.)

Mario: It's all yours, Princess!

(Mario tosses the statue up to Princess.)

Princess: Thanks, Mario!

(Princess jumps down from the tree and puts the statue back on its pedestal.)

Princess: Come on, statue! Do your magic! Protect this town again!

(Princess kisses the statue on its cheek, and it blushes. It then emits a wave which scares away all of the crocodiles from the tree.)

Mario: It's working! The crocs are stampeding outta here!

Luigi: There's only one problem, Mario! We're in their way!

Toad: Hey, Marios! Grab this!

(Toad twirls a lasso around and throws it at the Marios. They grab it, and Toad pulls them over the crocodiles to the base of the tree.)

Luigi: Whew! That was close!

Mario: Not as close as it's gonna be for Koopa! Look!

(Mario points to Koopa, who is now being chased after by the crocodiles.)

Koopa: Woah! It's time to Koop outta here fast! Get back, you revolting reptiles!

(One of the crocodiles takes a bite out of Koopa's pants and he screams on his way out of the town. Everyone else laughs. Mario and the mayor shake hands.)

Mayor: Thanks to you, Mario mates, it's finally been a very good g'day!

Mario: So whadda ya say we throw a pizza on the barbie?
