(The curtain rises on Dark Land and the title is shown.)

(Open to the Mushroom Kingdom at night. Mario and Co. are lying on the grass near Toad's house, gazing at the sky. Toad is looking through a telescope.)

Toad: That comet sure it a beauty!

Luigi: Let me see, Toad!

(Toad hands Luigi the telescope. Looking through it, Luigi can see a comet in space slowly moving across the starry sky.)

Luigi: Wow, neato! Your turn, Mario!

(Luigi hands Mario the telescope, and he looks through it.)

Mario: Ehh, since when are comets made of metal, and shaped like Koopa's head?

Mario, Luigi, Princess, and Toad: Koopa's head?

(The four of them fight over the telescope, desperate to look through it.)

(Cut to outer space. Orbiting the planet is a white spaceship of a design similar to the Star Trek Enterprise. The main body of the ship is shaped like Koopa's head, and the two upper sections are connected through the horns. In the bridge of the ship is Koopa sitting in the captain's seat, with Rocky Wrenches stationed around him. Hip, Hop, and Kooky are loitering around near their dad.)

Koopa: This is Kooper! With my new Doom Star, I can have a bird's eye view of the entire planet! Now those sewer simps have no hope in stopping me!

Kooky: And stopping you they shan't! Even with the power to fly, the Mario Bros. have no way of surviving in space!

Hip: Way to go Kooky! None of us-

Hop: Could have ever designed a spaceship!

Hip: But what are going to do with-

Hop: This Doom Star?

Kooky: I'm leaving that up to King Dad! He's the one who wanted it!

Koopa: Well, if some-Koopa's gonna invent, another Koopa's gotta make 'em do it!

Hip: But, King Dad! What-

Hop: Do you plan on doing with the Doom Star?

Koopa: We're gonna use the Doom Star, to redirect the comet straight into Princess Toadstool's fair Kingdom! But first, we're gonna cruise around the Mushroom Galaxy a bit! This baby's Kooptastic!

(Cut to Castle Koopa. Mario and Co. have snuck up to the entrance and are preparing to sneak inside.)

Luigi: Mario! What makes you so sure we'll find a way to reach Koopa in here, when he's all the way up there?

Mario: Uh-

Princess: We won't find Koopa, but we can still search for clues.

(Mario and Co. enter the castle, and are immediately pursued by several Hot Feet.)

Luigi: Run for it!

(Mario Cnd co. hurry off and manage to outrun the Hot Feet.)

Princess: Watch out, a Roto-Disc!

(A Roto-Disc swoops down from above, right in front of the group, and back up through the ceiling.)

Luigi: Hey, it missed!

(The Roto-Disc comes back down, almost hitting Luigi's head.)

Luigi: Yikes!

Toad: Guys, in here!

(Toad points to a warp pipe and the group jumps in. )

(They emerge in another room of the castle. In this room are a lot of spacesuits in various sizes hanging on racks.)

Princess: What is this place?

Luigi: I don't know, and I don't wanna find out, yeesh!

(Luigi makes a run to the warp pipe, but Mario grabs him by an overall strap.)

Mario: Luigi, we can't leave now, we have to find a way to get to Koopa!

(Cut to outer space. The Doom Star is soaring through an asteroid belt.)

Kooky: King Dad! We're almost out of power! We need to go home and refuel!

(Kooky points to the fuel gauge, the needle of which is almost touching the E.)

Koopa: Fine! Set the course for Castle Koopa!

(The Doom Star turns around and heads the other way. Eventually, it makes its way back into the atmosphere and arrives outside of Castle Koopa. Cut to Mario and Co.)

Princess: What was that noise?

(The four of them run up to a window and see the Doom Star parked outside.)

Mario: Good! Now we can stop them!

(At the other end of the room, two Sledge Bros. enter through another door. Mario and Co. hide behind a crate.)

Sledge Bro. 1: This Doom Star eats up fuel like popcorn!

Sledge Bro. 2: Yeah, but King Koopa told us not to dawdle, he wants more fuel so he can quickly return to space and destroy the Mushroom Kingdom!

(The Sledge Bros. pick up a large crate and carry it outside to the Doom Star. They enter the Doom Star via a staircase connected to the body of the ship. The Doom Star takes off before Mario and Co. can arrive.)

Princess: Oh no! How can we stop them?

Mario: We can't fly through space, but I have an idea!

(Mario runs back inside and grabs a spacesuit for everyone.)

(Cut to the sky above Dark Land. Cape Mario and Cape Luigi are wearing spacesuits and flying upwards, holding onto Princess and Toad respectively, both of whom are also wearing space suits.)

Mario: All right you two, we need the Fire Power rockets!

(Princess and Toad pull out Fire Flowers and give themselves Fire Power, turning their suits orange. The Marios grab onto their feet, as Princess and Toad let go with their hands and start firing fireballs like crazy.)

Luigi: Not fireballs! We need jets of fire!

Toad: We're trying!

(The fireballs Princess and Toad are shooting are quickly replaced with jets of flames and work as makeshift rockets, which propel them even higher, until they are eventually in outer space. Nearby is the Doom Star, which is parked in mid space. As the group approaches the Doom Star, Bullet Bills are fired at them.)

Mario: Oh no!

(Princess and Toad maneuver their way past a barrage of Bullet Bills and lasers. They manage to reach a door, but Mario, Luigi, and Toad get hit by lasers and lose their powers.)

Mario: Hurry, Princess!

(Princess uses her firepower to weld a hole in the door. The group enters the airlock and open the door leading to a corridor of the ship. Unfortunately, the alarm has already gone off.)

Luigi: That was scary!

Toad: Let's take off these heavy spacesuits!

(The four of them take off their spacesuits and walk down the corridor.)

Toad: That stupid alarm's too loud!

(Princess spots the alarm box and shoots it with a fireball.)

Princess: That better?

(A dozen Rocky Wrenches run down the corridor towards them, but the Marios and Princess take care of them with stomps and fireballs. The group continues down the corridor and is about to enter the bridge, when a force field appears at the entrance. Princess hits the force field and loses her Fire Power.)

Hip: Tough luck-

Hop: Princess!

Koopa: Tough luck, toilet boys, but you'll never stop us now! Kooky, activate the tractor beam! We're gonna send the comet into the Mushroom Kingdom right now!

Luigi: No, stop!

(Luigi walks up to the force field, but Mario grabs his arm and pulls him back.

Mario: Forget it Luigi! We have to stop them another way!

Princess: I know! Maybe we can find the power supply to the ship and cut it off!

(Mario and Co. run off down the corridor.)

Koopa: Don't even think of cutting the power, drain brains! Hip! Hop! Get them!

Hip: As you say-

Hop: King Dad!

(Cut to Mario and Co., who are running down a corridor and stop when they see a door labeled "Power Room". However, the door is locked and requires a combination to enter.)

Toad: We'll never get in there now!

Luigi: Not if I can help it!

(Luigi pulls out his wrench and bangs the control panel next to the door. It opens, but Luigi getselectrocuted and faints.)

Princess: I don't get it! He wears gloves!

Toad: He was standing right next to the panel and he was holding a metal wrench!

(Luigi regains consciousness.)

Luigi: I'm okay, I hope!

(The group enters the Power Room. There they see several Starmen positioned on a tripod podium and hooked up to some wiring.)

Hip: Don't even-

Hop: Think about it!

(Hip and Hop pull out their wands.)

Mario: Four can play at this game!

(Mario pulls out his plunger, while Luigi pulls out his wrench again.)

Hop: Let's see you-

Hip: Stop us now!

(Laser beams erect from the wands, turning them into makeshift lightsabers. The Koopas take one swipe at the brothers' weapons and slice them in half.)

Luigi: Uh oh.

(Hip and Hop attempt to hit Mario and Luigi, who dodge their attacks but are eventually cornered.)

Hip: Now for-

Hop: The Koop de Grace!

(Just as Hip and Hop are about to deliver their finishing blows, Princess and Toad toss Starmen over Hip and Hop's heads and into the Marios hands.)

(Hip and Hop strike the Marios with their light wands, but their invincibility bends the lasers out of shape.)

Hop: Uh oh!

Hip: Let's get out of here!

(Hip and Hop leave.)

Princess: For once, I agree with those two! We left one Starman behind so that the ship has enough power to land, but they still have the opportunity to send the comet to the Mushroom Kingdom!

(Cut to the bridge. Hip and Hop enter.)

Hip: Those meddlesome Marios-

Hop: Are coming this way!

Koopa: We need to stop them!

Kooky: How should I do that?

Koopa: Use the force field!

(Kooky looks at the power gauge.)

Kooky: But King Dad! We don't have enough power!

Hip: The Mario Brothers stole it!

(Mario and Co. enter the bridge.)

Koopa: Kooky! Activate the tractor beam now!

(Kooky activates the tractor beam, which pulls the comet towards the ship. He then deactivates it, but the comet's course has now been diverted toward the Mushroom Kingdom.)

Koopa: Sledge Bros.!

(A squadron of Sledge Bros. enters the bridge, but Mario and Co. power up again with Starmen.)

Princess: Remember guys, these were our last ones!

(The four of them use their invincibility to get past the Sledge Bros. The song "Hit or Miss" starts up.)

Koopas here and Koopas there
I see Koopas everywhere
The Koopas think they run the show
But we'll give them the final flow
We'll hit them cuz we won't miss
We'll hit them cuz we can't miss
We'll hit them cuz we never miss
Koopas right behind ya

(Since there were so many Sledge Bros. for the four of them to deal with, their invincibility wears off by the time they finish. The song ends.)

Computer Voice: Warning, power supply dangerously low. Two minutes of power remain.

(Mario runs over to the control panel next to Kooky and starts pressing buttons.)

Mario: One of these has to be the tractor beam!

(This tractor beam is fired and sends the comet off course.)

Kooky: Get away from here!

(Kooky shoves Mario aside and takes a hold of the steering wheel. Mario also takes hold of the wheel and fights with Kooky over it.)

Kooky: Let go!

Koopa: Forget plumb dumb! What about the comet?

Kooky: I can't get it back now! We're low on power and we might crash!

Koopa: I order you to reroute it to the Mushroom Kingdom!

Kooky: Why should I listen to you?

Koopa: Kooky, I am your father! And what I say goes!

(Mario and Kooky's fighting sends the Doom Star crashing into the comet. The impact sends the comet into deep space, and breaks off a portion of the Doom Star.)

Computer Voice: Warning, ship has taken critical damage. Bail out immediately.

(The Doom Star is now rumbling like crazy.)

Luigi: Let's get out of here!

Koopa: Agreed!

(Everyone runs off down a corridor to the escape pods. Mario and Co. enter one as the Koopas enter another. The space pods drive away from the ship right before it explodes.)

Koopa: Oh no!

(Koopa throws a temper tantrum. The Koopas look into the other escape pod and see Mario and Co. cheering. The escape pods head towards the Mushroom Kingdom and Dark Land.)

Koopa: I'LL GET THOSE PROBLEMATIC PLUMBERS!

(Cut to the Mushroom Kingdom. The escape pod has landed and Mario and Co. exit.)

Toad: Well, at least that's done with! Hey, it's still dark out, let's do some more stargazing!

(Luigi checks his watch.)

Luigi: It's five in the morning!

(Mario, Luigi, and Princess fall asleep on the spot.)

Toad: Oh well! When in Rome!

(Toad falls asleep as well and the curtain falls.)
