K

K-9: These dog-like creatures appear in Bandit's Way, and like most enemies there they aren't much tougher than previous enemies, but they do have some decent attacks. However, you can usually knock them out first. Submitted by Simon.

Kab-omb: These Bob-ombs are the weirdest guys I have ever seen. They can be defeated if you jump on them, but if they get hit by fire... KABOOM! Appears in New Super Mario Bros. Found by Gold yoshi.

Ka-Bloom!: The boss of the Ancient Waterworks and consumer of a Wishstone Fragment. This flower measures over ten feet in diameter and reeks of garlic and animal waste. It symbolizes death. And bad cooking. From Wario: Master of Disguise. Sent in by ghettobananachris.

Kaboomba: A walking cannon, usually seen in twos, that appears in underground places of Yoshi's Island. They fire cannonballs that can go a long distance. Submitted by Ludwig 222.

Kamella: A giant Magikoopa in purple robes that controls some of Bowser's Airship Fleet in the Space Junk Galaxy and controls the Deep Dark Galaxy. She must be attacked by shells that she shoots. Kamella can also call other Magikoopas to help her in battle. Found in Super Mario Galaxy. Sent in by Crazy Koopa.

Katasini: A cat entertainer who is Toad's first opponent in the forest. Only appears in Wario's Woods. Submitted by Coco.

Kent C. Koopa: This Koopa in Paper Mario is huge! He appears after Chapter 6 and charges 100 coins to go down Pleasant Path. If you decide to battle him, he attacks both you and your partner. Submitted by Axemblack97.

King Bill: Beleive it or not, these guys are bigger than Banzai Bills! How do you beat them? You can't. These are so overpowered, they only appear in the very last level of New Super Mario Bros Wii. Sent in by Yosh 3000.

King Bomb: Punchinello's last resort in Mario RPG, it ends up doing him in before it gets a chance to hurt you. Magikoopa likes to create these so watch out and kill them before they go boom or you're in trouble! Submitted by Simon.

King Boo: The final boss of Luigi's Mansion, drive him out of his Bowser suit then get him! Also a regular boss in Mario Sunshine, he doesn't like peppers. Submitted by Damage.

King Calimari: The BOSS of BLOOPERS! His tentacles can whisk you away, causing a fear attack, and he does the accuracy and attack power damaging Sand Storm. If you have Super Flame or Ultra Flame, turn up the heat! Submitted by John.

King Croacus: The current king of the Floro Sapiens is their fourth monarch. He is a giant flower that uses his petals and other smaller heads. He appears in Super Paper Mario. Sent in by Paperlemmy.

King Kaliente: A giant Cosmic Blooper that can shoot flames. Strangely, he can also shoot coconuts. He controls the Airship Fleet in the Good Egg Galaxy and holds one of the Grand Stars. Found in Super Mario Galaxy. Sent in by Crazy Koopa.

King Totomesu: The boss of Birabuto Kingdom (the first world) in Super Mario Land. He attacks by spitting fireballs (the kind Bowser spits). You can attack his with Superballs or you can jump over and press the button behind him to win. Talk about SMB reminiscent! Submitted by Guest256.

Knife Guy and Grate Guy: Two baddies that appear in Booster's Tower. Grate Guy has 900 HP, Knife Guy has 700. Mario, Geno, and Bowser are the trio to use against this pair of morons. Submitted by Lakitu 2000.

Koopa Bros: These four nasty Koopas, Red, Green, Yellow, and Black, hold the first Star Spirit in Paper Mario. They may be cute, but they don't really do that good a job of protecting their Star. After they use a machine that looks like Bowser, they pile up and do a Super Spin that does as much damage as there are number of Koopa Bros. in the stack. They can fall over, and then they are like regular Koopa Troopas until they reassemble in a possibly smaller stack. For good fun, try a POW against them. Possibly a rip-off of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Nice theme song. Sent in by Aleth.

Koopa Striker: Basically, Koopa soccer players that appear in Super Paper Mario. They kick shells around at Mario and company. Just kick their shells back at them! Sent in by Paperlemmy.

Koopa Troopa: A stupid turtle that walks around in every game Mario stars in except Mario 2, Yoshi’s Story, and Mario Kart 64. He is usually the most common enemy. Some have green shells and are really dumb, and some have red shells, and are smart enough not to walk off cliffs. He is slightly traitorous because Mario can use his shell to break ground-level blocks, but sometimes the shell rebounds and hurts Mario. This makes him just slightly more dangerous than the Goomba. In giant form, he is the boss of the fourth world in Yoshi’s Island and is actually somewhat difficult, since Yoshi must throw eggs quickly to knock him over. In Yoshi's Safari there's one that can take a lot of hits. He's the boss of one of the levels.

Koopaleon: A Koopa that is on all fours and can turn invisible, seen (or not) in Partners in Time. Submitted by Grey Guy.

Koopatrol: The Koopatrol is Bowser's private guard in Paper Mario, and they're armored to the shells. They can call up a super-hurtin' attack if they want, or even bring in more badguys of the same species. Don't stomp on one unless you're wearing the Spike Shield Badge. Submitted by Dark Boshi.

K. P. Koopa: This is the same as a normal Koopa in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, only with a yellow
shell. He's found in Glitzville. One of them is better known as King K. Submitted by Dark Koopa.

K. P. Paratroopa:  This is the same as a normal Paratroopa in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, only with a yellow shell. He's found in Glitzville. Submitted by Dark Koopa.

Kumo: A spider in 3-2 and 3-3 in Super Mario Land. They are exactly like Flies, only in a different level.

L

Lakipea : This is a species of Lakitu that inhabits the Beanbean Kingdom of Superstar Saga. It looks just like a Lakitu but has vines growing all over it. His attacks include: Sharpea Ball: He throws a Sharpea at Mario or Luigi; and Sharpea Drop: He drops a Sharpea on the ground and it becomes a new enemy. Submitted by Luigi_alex.

Lakithunder: A powerful Lakitu that is the boss of World 7. Not only does he throw spinies, but he can fire lightning bolts at you! Appears in New Super Mario Bros. Found by Gold yoshi.

Lakitu: A cloud riding turtle and a great threat from the air. He is a very loyal member of the original Koopa Troop. He appears in every game Mario stars in except Mario Brothers and Mario 2. He throws Spinies, fishes from pipes, takes aim from holes in walls, throws bombs, and even appears in dead form. He has a very large range, and can sometimes threaten Mario for an entire course. He is extremely dangerous, especially since there is no other enemy like him for Mario to practice against. He can be stomped or fireballed, but is usually too high to be reached, and also he usually comes back after a while. He is usually better (for Mario) when he is avoided. He does have a soft heart for racing, though, and referees the race tracks. In Yoshi's Safari he is a really pesky mini-boss who throws down Spinies.

Lakitofu: A Lakitu that clings to the side of a spacecraft and beams down Spiny Shroopas in Partners in Time. Submitted by Grey Guy.

Landmaster: Uggh... This guy's creepy. Basically a bull monster with a nose ring from Wario Land. He's also the second boss in that game, too. Hit him to make him vulnerable, then toss him into the lava! He still is weird, though. Sent in by Tatanga.

Lantern Ghost: A bluish ghost that carries a lantern in the caves of Yoshi's Island. Some come in brown, too. Very easy to avoid. One brown one is stronger than the others; he is a mini-boss in Paper Mario. He isn't that hard as long as you keep the room lit. Sent in by Ludwig 222.

Laser Jigglefish: This floating jellyfish appears in Pecan Sands in Wario World. Dodge its laser beam attack, and when it finishes doing that, Ground Pound it to stun it. Sent in by Ludwig 222.

Laser Snifit: This guy is found in Woohoo Hooniversity in Superstar Saga. They're all over the place! They are actually professors transformed by Cackletta. They have two attacks. They will go up face-to-face with a brother and shoot, in which case just stand there to dodge it. If they stand a few inches away before they attack, jump to dodge. Give 'em a few good hammer whacks to defeat them. Submitted by Guest 256.

Lava Bubble: He appears in Mt. Lavalava of Paper Mario. This red flame is a weaker version of his cousin at Star Way, having only 9 HP. He can attack your allies, though, and can be a bit dangerous if he attacks you before you get to the Fire Shield Badge. Submitted by Guest256.

Lava Bud: These are Lava Piranha's teammates. They hit you with Fire Bombs when possible. Good thing there are only two. When Lava Piranha dives under the lava, so do these guys. They also can't fight for five turns if the fire is doused. Nintendo Power says to use Tidal Wave to take out Lava Piranha and his buds (no pun intended). Sent in by Aleth.

Lava Drop: A fiery creature that floats around in the later levels of Yoshi's Island. They move both vertically and horizontally. It can't be defeated, and can be a real pain to deal with sometimes. Submitted by Ludwig 222.

Lava Ghost: These lava ghosts live in Blargg's Boiler in Yoshi's Story. They jump across the screen and go down in the lava. They're not really hard to avoid. Submitted by Coco.

Lava Lotus: An underwater plant of Mario 3, it releases up to 5 lavaballs at once. Since it's fireproof, and you can't spin your tail underwater, they're practically invincible. But if Mario is careful with a Statue Stomp, or tosses hammers, they're finished. Very rare, there are only 6 in the game, and 3 of them are all the way on world 7-4. Sent in by John.

Lava Piranha: At least this guy has his head down, so you can jump him safely, but there's a catch. He would be on the ground, but he's in a lava pit, so hammers don't work. When half of his HP is gone he gives you Star Points, but then he comes up again with fire on his head. He won't be able to attack for five turns if his fire is doused! Sent in by Aleth.

Lee: Lee is a strange blue creature in the Dojo of Paper Mario who can transform. He will transform into your party member using Mimic. He will take full advantage of your partner's normal attack. When he turns back after being hurt badly, his Charge attack isn't very pretty. He can't be fought until you beat Chan. Sent in by Aleth.

Lemon Drop: A gooey creature that drops off of ceilings and makes yicky noises. He is an easy, edible foe for Yoshi in Yoshi’s Island.

Lethal Bob-omb: These guys are always flashing, ready to blow! You might want to stay away, if possible... If not, use our good ol' hammer! They're found in Partners in Time. Submitted by Paperlemmy.

Leuko: Well, it's a jellyfish with electric attacks. Must be what Jelectro grew into. Shows up on Sunken Ship, and Mario should leave it alone... very strong. Sent in by John.

Li'l Boo: This is (strangely) a stronger version of a Big Boo who appears in Smithy's Factory in Mario RPG. Submitted by Simon.

Li'l Sparky: A rare enemy, this little fireball of Mario World appears in some castles, travelling the outside of blocks and behaving like Spark of SMB2. Only Li'l Sparky isn't too fast, but they appear on small, crucial blocks. Sent in by John.

Limbo Bro: Found in Guffawha Ruins in Superstar Saga. He has two attacks, both of which can be easily avoided. Jump when he's next to you or hammer him when he's approaching you. You should defeat him in three or four hits. Sent in by Ludwig 222.

Limbo Guys: Found in Yoshi's Story's Shy Guy Limbo on Page 5, these Shy Guys comes in pairs and carry a limbo stick. Submitted by Axemblack97.

Little Mouse:  A mouse that likes to steal Yoshi's eggs in Yoshi's Island. Very annoying, like in 2-2, 6-2, 3-6, and 6-7. Some even pop out of walls, making them more annoying. Some wear skulls on their head, never steal Yoshi's eggs, and are less annoying. Sent in by Ludwig 222.

Lizardon: A purple lizard who is Toad's second opponent in the mountain. Only appears in Wario's Woods. Submitted by Coco.

Lord Crump: Grodus' right-hand man from PM2. He commands most of the X-Nauts when carrying out an evil plan. He drives a big ugly purple robot called the Magnus von Grapple. Submitted by Blue Boo.

Love Bubble: A flying bug that swoops down at you, found in Partners in Time. Submitted by Grey Guy.

Lungefish: A fish that resembles Big Bertha, but he is a metal robot. He snaps at Yoshi from within the waters of Mario World, and his bite is deadly. He is even more dangerous than Big Bertha of Mario 3 because he can jump higher, but Blurp can jump higher still.

Lurchin: Lolls around in the waters of the Smithsnorian and Ancient Waterworks. This emotionally fragile urchin hurts everyone he touches, no matter how hard he tries not to. He spends each night sobbing from nearly unbearable loneliness. From Wario: Master of Disguise. Sent in by ghettobananachris.

Mad Green Koopa: An angry Koopa from Vibe Island. According to the Glossary, it "attacks angrily like a spoiled child!" Yeah, that about describes it. Found by Paperlemmy.

Mad Green Paratroopa: An angry Paratroopa with a green shell that lives on Vibe Island. According to the Glossary, it "floats to and fro. Attacks foes upon slight." Found by Paperlemmy.

Mad Hat Mk. I: The first boss of the game, it is fought aboard the S.S. Caviar. Cannoli's custom-built UFO. The lower jet engine keeps it aloft in even the most miserable conditions, but makes the thing rather hard to balance. From Wario: Master of Disguise. Sent in by ghettobananachris.

Mad Hat Mk. II: The second boss fought aboard the S.S. Caviar. A fierce deity that has guarded Cannoli's family for generations. Whenever Cannoli's desire for treasure hits the boiling point, this robot is sure to appear! From Wario: Master of Disguise. Sent in by ghettobananachris.

Mad Mallet: A factory worker in SMRPG. It isn’t every day that you see a living hammer. Submitted by Miles "Thumbs" Power.

Mad Piano: There’s only one and it appears in a room in Big Boo’s Haunt. It won’t come to life unless you go near it and the only reason to do that is to get the red coin it’s guarding. He appears in Mario World, Yoshi's Safari, Mario RPG, Yoshi’s Island, and Paper Mario. He is traitorous in Mario World because his wand allows Mario to get past a bridge suspended over the lava in Lemmy’s castle. He is a boss in Yoshi's Safari and is widely considered the toughest boss in the game.

Magmite: A rock. More specifically, a rock in the Barrel Volcano in SMRPG. He has good defense but his HP is laughable. Well, what do you expect from a rock? Submitted by Miles "Thumbs" Power.

If you don't have the Zap Tap badge or a Stone Hat, his combo attack is deadly. Submitted by Miles "Thumbs" Power.

M. Bush: AMBUSH FROM M. BUSH! Sorry. First appeared in Paper Mario on Lavalava Island. Taking a page from the Hurt Plant's book, these guys are disguised as a harmless bush, and have a pretty decent bite attack. Be careful, as if by any chance you get bitten, you WILL get poisoned. Its stats are: HP: 8; Attack: 3; Defense: 0. Submitted by Bobby.

Mean Emcee: This boss of Wario World's Mirror Mansion is a wimp! Punch him a few times and he'll hide under the giant cups. Watch them move (they get faster the more you hurt him), select the right one, then punch it again and throw the Mean Emcee off the stage! Do this four more times to win. If you select the wrong one, enemies appear; harder enemies appear the more hits he takes. Sent in by Ludwig 222.

Mecha-Blooper: This large Blooper is found in Oho Ocean of Mario Sunshine. It is equipped with large grey
bullets in the front. It looks a bit like Gooper Blooper. Submitted by Terry.

Missile Bill: A rare varient of the common Bullet Bill, this red-tinted weapon can track Mario and will turn left or right to keep him in its sights. Found in Mario 3, this Bill still cannot change its altitude. Mario will be safe if he's not on the Bill Blaster's level, but just because he dodges the bullet once doesn't mean the danger is over...

It is hurt double by the Thunderhand (Luigi) when red and the Firebrand (Mario) when blue. It is always with two Piranha Plants. It's HP is 220. It starts out red, but if it has two Piranha Plants that are blue it turns blue and vice versa. Sent in by Gold Yoshi.

Monchee: These are little monkey action figures with symbols. Grab their tails to use as a rope. They are in Mario VS Donkey Kong. Submitted by Luigi_Ownz.

Moneybags: Appears in Snowman's Land in Super Mario 64, and when he pops up, he'll bounce around, evading Mario's moves (not too hard to do). A passive foe, he disguises himself as a coin to avoid attack, but reveals his true self if approached, and the fact that his disguise floats a little helps separate him from a real coin. Should Mario be able to beat it, they leave behind five coins, but those coins slide around quite a bit in order to keep Mario from healing any inevitable damage. Mario can't ram it with the shell, that will just end his ride. Sent in by John.

Monstar: Kudos to Smash's bio- this guy is a pathetic ghost-type monster in Paper Mario that can kill you in about 35 rounds- if you have 35 HP. Yup, he can do 1 HP worth of damage per turn, and he has 20 HP. His attack looks cool, but what can you expect from a cluster of Star Kids? Sent in by Husky/Washu.

Monstorous Magnet: Flying magnets that appear in Beanstalk Way in Wario World. Avoid their shots and jump and punch them, then pick them up and Mega Toss them into a metal wall to use them as a platform to get to a higher area. Sent in by Ludwig 222.

Monty Mole: A mole that pops out of holes in the sides of cliffs in Mario World, Yoshi's Safari, Mario Party 3, and Paper Mario. He is fairly easy to defeat or avoid because he has no defense and his only offense is running at Mario. However, he does home in on Mario and can run faster than he can, so he can be a threat in a tight situation. He also appears as an obstacle in Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64.

Worse for the snowman that if his target moves to fast, especially when close by, he'll collapse and give up three coins... but he'll be back! For some reason, shells don't even faze him. He is a possible partner in Mario Party 3. Sent in by John.
