From Larry Koopa
Why is Morton called Morton Koopa Jr?
Bowser's father is named Morton, so he is Morton Koopa Sr. Morton Sr. died, and in Koopa culture, it is customary to name children after deceased ancestors. Morton Jr. isn't actually a Jr. since he is not Morton Sr.'s son, but Jr. is a title of respect to the dead. I know this answer is not exciting, but it is the truth.
From Lardlad
Are there any video games starring Mario as the villain and you Koopas as the good (bad) guys in the Mushroom Kingdom?
The Koopalings are never the good guys, although we should be! Mario is a bad guy one time. He is the bad guy in Donkey Kong Jr. when he tries to return Donkey Kong to the jungle and you are Donkey Kong Jr. trying to save your father.
From Koopa T. Quick
What does the "O" in Wendy O. Koopa stand for?
The "O" in Wendy O. Koopa stands for Ocean. It resembles my love for water. Some say it stands for Octopus, but that is not true.
From Unknown
If Ludwig likes chocolate so much, why does Wendy rule Chocolate Island?
Ludwig likes chocolate the most, but all the Koopalings, except maybe Larry, also love chocolate. I won control of the area because of my loud tantrums. Not even Ludwig's inventions could stop me!
From Unknown
If Bowser is married to Clawdia, why does he chase Princess Toadstool?
Quite frankly, not everyone is honest. Very few people are honest, and just because Bowser is married does not mean that he would not be involved, or want to be involved, in another affair.
From Kent
Was Ludwig's laugh always like that?
Actually, Ludwig's laugh, which sounds something 'hee hee hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo!', was an effect of an experiment gone bad. Ludwig was trying to invent a laughing gas he could use against Mario. He succeeded in making a very potent gas, but the gas leaked from its container and infected him instead of Mario. The gas gave him his laugh, and as a side effect, he never lost it. Unfortunately, Ludwig laughed so hard that he broke the invention that made the gas, and so it was never used as it was intended.
From Monica
Do Koopas hatch out of eggs, or are they born?
Believe it or not, Koopas hatch and are born. Some Koopas, such as Ludwig, were lay in an egg and then later hatched. Other Koopas, like myself, were born. How one is born has an effect on their personality, and the Koopas that are hatched are more likely to be independant.
From King Nimbus
How many spikes does each Koopa have on their shell?
Well, that number can vary because Koopas can change their shells. They often require help to do it, because Koopalings turn into goo when their shell is not on, but nevertheless, they often change shells to go with the fashion, such as a party shell or a relaxed shell. Each Koopa does have a regular, everyday shell, which is what they wear most often. Originally, the Koopalings spikes were supposed to represent power, and the more spikes meant the more power. However, Lemmy messed up the pattern because he was too small for his number (six). Therefore, the Koopas' spikes no longer represent power and are just for show. Ludwig has 6, Lemmy has 2, Roy has 5, Iggy has 4, I have 3, Morton has 1, and Larry has 2. Bowser has 10 spikes.
From Lardlad
What holidays do the Koopas celebrate?
This question can only be answered in a round about way for two reasons. The first is that the names of the holidays are in a Koopanese language that cannot be easily translated into English. The other is that the year on the planet Plit, where we live, is about twice as long as a year on Earth, so I can not give a date for the holiday either. The best I can do is give the purpose of our holidays. We have a day to celebrate the making of DAD, the first Koopa; a day to celebate our conquering of Dark Land, the first land we conquered; a day to remember our ancestors; a day to atone for our faults against Koopas (not against our enemies); a day for the creation of Plit; and several other festival days. We also have a special day every Wednesday. That day was originally a day of rest from work, much like some religions on Earth have, but the resting fell out of practice because it became nearly impossible for a Koopa with lands to manage not to work. Nevertheless, a Koopa is expected to attend services for at least one hour on Wednesday.
From King Nimbus
When were the Koopalings born?
Translated into Earth time, Ludwig was born January 4. Lemmy was born February 8. Roy was born March 15. Iggy was born November 30. I was born July 10. Morton was born August 6. Larry was born May 29.
From King Nimbus
What lands do the Koopas own in Mario World, and what land does Clawdia own?
Iggy ruled Yoshi's Island, Morton ruled Donut Plains, Lemmy ruled Vanilla Dome, Ludwig ruled the Twin Bridges, Roy ruled Forest of Illusions, I ruled Chocolate Island, and Larry ruled the Valley of Bowser with some help. Clawdia ruler Ferocious Land, a small jungle west of Dark Land; and Star Road in Mario World.
From L-koopa
Who would become king if Bowser died?
Customarily, the oldest Koopa (who would have to be male to become king) would succeed Bowser, so Ludwig would become King of the Koopas. However, Bowser could write a will to give the throne to another of us Koopalings if he so desired.
From L-koopa
Do Koopas celebrate the New Year?
Us Koopas celebrate a new year, but it does not coincide with Earth's New Year. This is because of the different orbits of Earth and Plit. Furthermore, our celebration is a solemn one, and is a time to think about our failures as opposed to a joyous occassion to celebrate a new year of life.
From Sandslash
Are there other Koopalings than the ones we know of?
Nope! Or at least not any that are born yet! There are some Koopa Cousins, such as Susan B. Koopa and more distant cousins that have never appeared in any stories, but there are only seven Koopalings.
From Sandslash
Did the Koopalings get land according to age or personality?
We got land based on personality. I got Water Land because I love to swim, Lemmy got Ice Land because he loves the cold and he can do many fun ball tricks, and so on. The order Mario faced them in was not in order of their appearance from Princess Toadstool’s Castle, but in order of youngest to oldest Koopaling, since he felt it was the best way to increase his strength while practicing. It is hard to tell what the straightest route would have been, since the lands are divided by warps. Grass Land probably was the easiest to get to from the castle, and Dark Land was probably the hardest.
From King Nimbus
In Mario 3, what are the lands from biggest to smallest?
Counting all the land space available, Dark Land is the biggest, followed by Ice Land, Water Land, Pipe Land, Desert Land, Sky Land, Giant Land, Ferocious Land, Grass Land, the Warp Zone, and finally Susan's Underground Land, which is really only a cut-out of Grass Land. If you actually want to count all the space, including vertically, then Sky Land would be the biggest.
From Sandslash
How does Koopa maturity compare with Human maturity?
Koopa maturity cannot be compared to Human maturity in an exact measure of years. For example, dogs are usually said to age 7 times as fast as Humans, but not with Koopas. Basically, Koopas and Human are born with similar levels of maturity, but Koopas are designed (and sometimes magic helps) to take in the world around them much faster than Humans can. They only have five senses, but they are more acute than those of Humans. Therefore, Koopas can learn much faster than Humans, and can take on harder classes, read earlier and faster, or just do more complicated tasks than Humans can. Physically, Koopas and Humans would probably be about the same if not for advanced vitamin pills which we Koopas can take at an early age to speed our growth and the development of muscles. This is why we can usually walk before we are 1, and by the time we are 2 we can be expected to carry on almost any job not requiring a lot of knowledge.
From Sandslash
Do Koopalings have to marry their siblings?
Although interfamily marriage is shunned and even illegal in some places for Humans, it is encouraged for Koopas. Koopas are supposed to marry within the family whenever possible in order to maintain their royal blood. Since I am the only female Koopaling, five of my brothers will have to look to cousins. The Koopa is a long heritage and we have many cousins, so all my brothers should find someone good to marry. Too bad I have to marry someone crummy.
From Mario Surfer
Wendy, who is your favorite brother, and why?
Well, I would have to say Lemmy. The biggest reason is not that I like him but that I don't like the others. Larry tries to make us eat yucky vegetables and also spies on our personal affairs. Morton is annoying and deafening. Iggy is not mean, but he is boastful and I think he is boring. Roy can be dangerous to be around. Ludwig speaks in big words that no one understands and can also play frightening music. Lemmy is the most fun to be around because he is naturally funny and he doesn't usually try to be mean.
From King Nimbus
Do any of the Koopalings or Koopa Cousins have boyfriends or girlfriends?
None of us would admit to having a boyfriend or girlfriend. As I mentioned earlier, I kind of like Lemmy, and Susan likes Larry. However, we’re still kind of young to be interested in those kind of things.
From King Nimbus
Who are Nick’s parents?
Nick, and for that matter Susan, is the son of Bowser’s brother Wart, and his wife, Pimple. I must say that I am relieved that the two siblings hate each other so much that they never appear in the same place, which means we only have to deal with one at a time. However, I really hope that Uncle Wart doesn’t have any more children.
From King Nimbus
Who are Clawdia's parents, and who is Morton's wife?
Morton’s wife is named Ozma, but they are both dead. I think my father must have done them in. Clawdia’s parents are Mush, the father, and Mud, the mother. They are alive, but they have been sick lately.
From King Nimbus
What would the Koopas call a person who is a mix of Koopa (like the ones in your family, not Koopa Troopas), a Kokiri (like Link from the new Zelda game), and a Yoshi?
Uh, we’d probably laugh and point fingers. I don’t know how that would happen. Zelda is another dimension and the Yoshis are (or are supposed to be) our enemies. The parents of such a person would probably be executed or exiled.
From King Nimbus
Who besides Ludwig is on Nick’s side?
No one! For that matter, Ludwig doesn’t really like him. If Ludwig has any interest in Nick it is probably only to help him with an invention, and he’d probably try to doublecross him when the plan is done. We all hate Nick because he’s really mean. He's meaner than Roy, AND Bowser likes him!
From King Nimbus
What Koopa exchange classes do each of the Koopas teach, and who is in each one?
I don’t know what classes my siblings take, but I know what they teach. Right now, Larry teaches a class on botany and parakeets (Susan made him). Morton is teaching a class on public speaking (but the class never has a chance to try it) and politics (like we have any). I teach two different types of swimming classes and I would like to teach a fashion class but nobody is interested. Iggy teaches a dinosaur class. Roy teaches a fitness class (Iggy is enrolled in that one). Lemmy has his ball riding class, his modern jokes class, and a creative writing class. Ludwig doesn’t teach any classes because no one could understand his science classes and no one wanted to hear his music. I am enrolled in Lemmy’s ball riding class, where I am about to graduate; the botany class, where I am a beginner; and the dinosaur class, where I’m intermediate. You might say that teaching two classes and being enrolled in three others would take a lot of time, but the classes don’t meet that often and usually they’re fun.
From King Nimbus
What are the Mario World lands in size order?
From biggest to smallest, they are the Vanilla Dome, the Special Zone, Donut Plains, the Valley of Bowser, Chocolate Island, the Forest of Illusions, the Twin Bridge Area, and Yoshi’s Island.
From King Nimbus
Which Koopalings were born and which were hatched?
Lemmy, Iggy, and I were born. Ludwig, Roy, Morton, and Larry were hatched.
From King Nimbus
Are the number of spikes the Koopalings have related to their world, and how many spikes to Clawdia, Susan, Nick, and Morton Sr. have?
Spikes are related to size, not power as they had been originally intended, and not land. Susan and Nick have no spikes because they are not Koopa Kids. That is one point we can tease them on (until we fall over and get stuck in the floor). Clawdia has one big spike, because she married Bowser but she’s not really a Koopa either. Morton probably had 10, like Bowser, but I do not guarantee that.
From King Nimbus
What sites were the Koopas given in Mario Is Missing?
Bowser didn’t give us any sites because he was mad at us after we failed in Mario 3 and Mario World (as if it was our fault). All we got to do was stand guard in the castle, which was very tiring. We weren’t even allowed to attack Luigi because Bowser said then he’d probably run around behind us. Lemmy and Morton were lucky. Bowser’s castle only had five floors, so he sent them off to do miscellaneous mischief. Lemmy complained because he loved Antarctica’s cold, but he was glad later.
From King Nimbus
What privileges do the Koopas get and at what ages?
A Koopaling gains most of their privileges upon turning 3, when they get a horse, a pet, a doomship, control of a land, the power to choose when to go to school, and just a lot of responsibility. A Koopaling is given a land upon turning 1, but does not have much control of it other than where and how the castle will be built. 2-year-olds gain more power and a pony. 4-year-olds start earning allowance if they completed their 3-year-old duties. After that, any privileges are pretty much earned. At age 7 a Koopaling earns the title of King or Queen, but it is only a title.
From King Nimbus
Why did Roy get Sky Land, and how were the Koopas given land in Mario World: by personality or by age?
Roy gained Sky Land upon request. The reason that he told Bowser was that he would be able to punch the soft clouds without hurting his hands or anybody. His real reason, however, is that he wanted to tamper with the weather machine and cause all kinds of havoc. Luckily, Bowser didn’t completely trust Roy, and he sent Ludwig to alter the machine so that Roy would not have complete control of the weather.
We were given land by personality in Mario World.
From King Nimbus
What is the "B" in Susan B. for?
Beats me! Uncle Wart named Susan for one of Earth’s female heroes, Susan B. Anthony. Maybe he thought he would demonstrate the differences between the two- good and evil. I don’t know, but the "B" stands for the original.
From Koopa T. Quick
How fast are the Koopalings?
If he is on his ball, Lemmy is the fastest. Iggy is next, and he probably learned it when he was acting as Lemmy’s twin. I am the third fastest, and then Larry, Ludwig, Roy, and Morton. If he is not on his ball, Lemmy is the slowest by far.
From King Nimbus
How many spikes do/did Ozma, Mush, Mud, Pimple, and DAD have/had?
All of them have 0. Ozma, Mush, Mud, and Pimple are not part of the royal Koopa family. DAD was the first Koopa but didn’t attach spikes to his shell.
From King Nimbus
Why did Iggy get Giant Land?
Iggy got Giant Land because he felt he was strong enough to personally tame all the dinosaurs and all the other giant creatures. That is not the case, but his magic does give him a lot of control and he is happy with the land.
From King Nimbus
Why did Ludwig get Pipe Land?
Ludwig got Pipe Land because he loves to tinker with things. He wanted to mess with the pipes and see what he could make out of them. He also wanted to delay Mario in case of an attack so that he would have more inventing time.
From Kooky Koopa
Why are those dumb Mario Brothers always beating us? We should be beating them up!
Well, as far as why they pick on us, I suppose it is because we are abusing our magical powers and picking on them and the Mushroom Kingdom. As far as why they are beating us, I don't really know. We have been so close many times, but somehow they always manage to pull through. We should rule the Mushroom World by now, but those pests are so dumb they're smart. Or something like that.
From Kooky Koopa
How did Morton get that star around his eye?
He was born with it. There's nothing special about it. That's just how the genes came out or something like that.
From Kooky Koopa
What are the names of the months in Koopaish?
Well, that kind of depends who you ask. If you ask a Mushroomer, I have no idea what you will get. If you ask a member of the Koopa Troop, it depends how up to date they are. The official Koopa calendar changes the names of the months and the length of the months so that each Koopaling can have one. December and January is called Lemmius. February is named Royus. March and April are named Larrius. June is named Wenda. July and August are named Mortanus. September is named Ludwigus. October is named Iggius. November is named Bowsarus. Those dates are estimated because our year does not really coincide with Earth's. Also, if someone refers to a different month, it is not necessarily wrong, although it is not current.

What is the reward for going to school for more than the required amount, and what is the punishment for not completing the year?
The consequences are pretty basic, but they are still nice or cruel, depending on which you get. The rewards include a raise in allowance, more power over your land, and more freedom from Bowser’s watch. The punishments include a drop in allowance, less power, and less freedom, including the freedom of choosing when to go to school. The consequences can be more or less severe depending on how much the Koopa went to school.
From King Nimbus
What does each Koopa Kid weigh?
Well, Ludwig and Roy must be at least 150 pounds because they can shake the floor. Roy is about 180, Ludwig is about 160. Lemmy must be very small to balance on his small; he's only around 60. Iggy is about 90, Morton is about 110, and Larry is 75.
You didn't think I was going to tell what I weighed, did you?
From King Nimbus
How do the sizes of the Mario 3 and Mario World lands compare?
From biggest to smallest, they are Dark Land, Ice Land, Water Land, the Vanilla Dome, Pipe Land, the Special Zone, Desert Land, Donut Plains, Sky Land, Giant Land, the Valley of Bowser, Chocolate Island, the Forest of Illusions, the Twin Bridge Area, Ferocious Land, Grass Land, Yoshi’s Island, and the Warp Zone.
From King Nimbus
What is Wendy's favorite land besides Water Land and Chocolate Island?
I would have to say Giant Land, because there is a lot of water around it and is very beautiful. I just wish that their was less of a danger of being squished.

From Aleth
Why can Lemmy barely walk but yet is able to easily balance on his ball?
I am told that, when he was young, Lemmy started practicing riding on a ball before he fully mastered walking. He was very bad on the ball at first, but he didn't have anything better to do than try again, so he did. Eventually he learned to stand on the ball and then to walk. But because he could do that, Lemmy saw no reason to finish mastering his regular walking skills. So they are still incomplete.
From Aleth
Why is Morton's skin grey?
I think it was tanned that way because of all the time that Morton spent in Desert Land and the wide open Donut Plains. Grey is the tan form of green, or something like that.
From Aleth
How come some Koopas have hair, and some Koopas don't?
Just genes I guess. Basically, Koopas either have a lot of hair or no hair. I don't know why, I'm not a scientist. However, I used to have hair. I cut it off because I didn't like it, but it never grew back.
Of course it's true!
From Aleth
Why does Larry Koopa have the nickname Cheatsy?
Well, because Larry cheats, of course! He spies on us and steals our secret plans and tactics. He then uses them himself, and gets the credit for it- unless the plan backfires. Then he places the blame on the plan's real creator.
From Aleth
Why do Iggy and Lemmy have the nicknames Hip and Hop?
Bowser probably knows why more than I do. Hip and Hop kind of go together, ever since the word Hiphop was invented, and since Lemmy and Iggy also went together, the name kind of fit. However, Lemmy should have been Hop because he does it on his ball, and Iggy should have been Hip because he thinks he is.
From Aleth
Why do each of you have different colored wands?
Each wand came from a different place (the seven kings of the Mushroom World), and also they have different powers. I really don't know what separates the red wand from the green wand, for example, but I know they have special abilities. However, we Koopalings are more interested in geting our favorite color, so he steal and switch wands.
From Aleth
How many times have you caught Larry spying on you?
Many! No, that would be wrong. Many times is how often Larry has spied at me. Never is how many times I've caught him while he was doing so. He is very clever in that way. Of course, when he used my plan or told my secret and some later point, I knew he had been spying on me.
From Aleth
How well do your parents get along?
I think that is relative. They fight sometimes, but certainly no more than you're average Koopa. Bowser has a hot temper, but Clawdia is always calm and doesn't easily get drawn into arguements. The only serious arguement that I know they have is that Clawdia has never attempted to attack Mario.
From Aleth
Why do Iggy and Lemmy have rainbow colored hair?
That's just the way it is. Genes again. I suppose it could be dyed but I don't really think so.
From Aleth
Why does Morton Koopa Jr. talk so much?
I refuse to ask him, but I believe it is because he didn't get enough attention when he was a baby so he used to cry a lot. The crying eventually evolved into speech- just as annoying as his incessant crying.
From Mind Candy
What are the hobbies of all the Koopalings?
Well, I don't know that you can call yourself a true Koopa Fan without knowing this, but here goes. Larry likes to find out other people's business, and he also loves to grow and study plants. Morton loves to talk about anything and to anyone who will listen. I love to swim, but I also have to make sure that I am pretty at all times. Plus, I like to get what I want. Iggy likes to workout, although he can't do to much, and likes to brag about himself. He likes animals too. Roy likes to be violent and pound people, and he doesn't like to work. Lemmy likes to roll around on his ball and play tricks on people. Ludwig likes to learn and make inventions, but the rest of us also like destroying them.
From Tim
Why are you enemies with Yoshi?
Yoshi has never actually attacked me or my siblings, but he did defeat Bowser twice. Plus, he helped Mario in several other occassions. And he's Mario's friend. That's bad enough.
From Kissy Koopa
What color is Bowser? He is orange in the games but green on TV.
Bowser really looks the way he does in the games. There are special lightings for the shows to make him look better. Although I think it makes him look worse.
From Jesse
How do Koopalings get their shell color, and how to they change shells when they can't survive outside of one while remaining solid?
The shell color has something to do
with rank. Pink, Roy's shell color, is kind of a symbol for 3, even though
it is kind of odd for a male Koopaling to wear a pink shell. He prefers
to wear a brown shell. My shell is bright red, but I would prefer hot pink.
Lemmy's shell is the most common green color, but he would prefer light
blue. As for changing shells, Koopalings can learn to slide into and out
of their shells. Young Koopalings and Koopalings who can't do it by themselves
must ask the assistance of a trusted servant or sibling, most likely a
servant.
From Kooky
How old does a Koopa have to be to finish school?
A Koopa finished school when he completes the 13 grade levels. If they finish at age 10, or 20, or 5, then they are done with school.
From Kooky
What do Koopas study in Koopa History?
First, Koopas study the history of their land- its rulers and battles, how some of it came under Koopa control, and its economics. Then we study the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom lands in a little less detail, and then we do an overview of Plit. After that, we do society and economics.
From Janine
Is it possible that Ludwig could invent a machine that could change humans into Koopas?
I am sure that he could, but there would be no reason to because we can use our magic to perform transformations.
From Janine
How old are the Koopalings in human years?
Ludwig is currently 9, Lemmy is 8, Roy is 7, Iggy is 5, I am 4, Morton is 3, and Larry is 2.

Do Ludwig or Morton have girlfriends?
No. Ludwig is too busy with his inventions to care, and Morton is unattractive because of all his talking. I do know some one who likes Ludwig, though.
From Janine
Could you explain like where the Koopalings rooms are, like, are they in a big hallway with their rooms on the sides?
Our rooms are in a hallway on the second floor of the Keep, but I can’t tell you what the order is. The hallway seems to have a life of its own. Rooms seem to move around, and any Koopa walking down the hallway is bound to pass all his siblings, or hear an explosion, or maybe see a chase. Very odd...
From Janine
Do the Koopalings glue their spikes on their shells, and what do the black bands with spikes on their wrists mean?
The spikes are attached to the shells. Many of them are old painted Spiny shells, the rest are special types of shells. The wristbands, like the shells, are a sign of power.
From Janine
How come they don’t like Morton just because he talks too much?
Well, first off, Morton talks so much and so loudly that he gives everybody headaches. That’s the worst. Also, you can’t say anything in his presence because everybody else is bound to find out, and it might be in some twisted form. Plus, he isn’t particularly nice in his nature, so there is no reason to want to be around him.
From Janine
Who are Wooster Shine, Susan B., Playful Meow, and Bagels Woof?
