From Guest256

In SMB3, if you have a P-Wing, you can fly over the wall in the room where you fight Bowser to fight another Bowser that doesn't shoot fireballs. What's the deal? A Ludwig thing gone wrong?

No, it's still Bowser... he jumps down from the wall dividing those two rooms, so he'll end up in whichever room Mario does. But, he is so stunned to see Mario fly straight over the wall like that, that he can't shoot any fireballs.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

Does Larry have a short tempered personality? Is it true that he doesn't trust anyone? If so, why?

It is true that Larry doesn't trust anyone, because he'a a spy. Spies have to see and not be seen.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

Since each Koopa has different personalities, do you know what blood type of each of the Koopas have?

I strongly doubt that blood type has anything to do with personality. In any case, I don't know the answer.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

Can there be another nickname for Larry, such as "Sneaky", besides Cheatsy? LOL, since he does a lot of spying and is very sneaky.

Hey, you can call him whatever you want, but Cheatsy is Larry's only recognized nickname.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

Since you don't like Morton a lot, would you exchange him for another brother who is  way better than Morton?

Sure, who wouldn't exchange something for something better?

From Ellie Marie Koopa

Who do you think is better, Peach or Daisy, and why?

I don't really have a preference. They're essentially identical anyway.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

What are some differences between Sub-con and Plit? Is the weather or background any different between Sub-con and Plit?

It's hard to say, because Sub-con is a dream world. It doesn't follow the rules of nature, and can appear different to everyone who goes there. Plus, both Plit and Sub-con have all different kinds of real or imagined terrain, which effects the weather.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

How is Larry's personality different from Susan's personality? Or can they be any different?

Well, they're both little pests anyway. Larry is pretty much different from everyone, so why should it be any different between he and Susan? I don't know what about Susan's personality makes her love a plant-loving spy, but I don't care enough to ask.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

Who is the laziest among your sibs?

If you'd ever watched Recycled Koopa, you'd know that Roy, for all his strength, is incredibly lazy.

From Phil

In Mario World, why did Bowser attack in a Clown Copter? I mean, it looks like a big bowl with a small green propeller and a face that changes its expression. On Earth, clowns make us laugh and feel happy. Our copters on Earth have a cockpit, tail, rotors, tail rotor, and sometimes powerful weapons.

Bowser decided that hand-to-hand combat wasn't working, so he ordered Ludwig to build him some kind of machine to battle in. Ludwig complied, but although he is a genius, he is also, well, kooky, and that causes him to do things that aren't always practical. While his invention, the Clown Copter, worked, it was an inferior design that didn't give Bowser any good attacks. Still, Bowser would have won eventually if he hadn't tossed out Mechakoopas for Mario to throw back at him.

From Phil

How come you and Lemmy have the same attack in Mario World? Roy and Morton have the same, and Iggy and Larry also have the same! Ludwig is the only one who has his own attack. Did he sit in his room and think the whole plan up, and were your brothers just copycats?

Well I know for a fact that Lemmy must have copied me, because it was all my idea, and there's no way he could have thought up the same thing on his own. I can't be sure about the others, but I certainly wouldn't put it past them to copy each other.

From Phil

How come Koopa Troopas get kicked out of their shells all the time and never turn into goo?

Only kids, who are not fully formed physically, turn into goo when they leave their shell. All of the Troopas in the army are adults, so they can leave their shell and be fine.

From Lord Seth

Why did Bowser throw those Mechakoopas at Mario in Super Mario World anyway? If he hadn't, he would have won!

Obviously, Bowser didn't expect Mario to throw them back at him. Apparently he decided that trying to crush Mario with his copter was too slow an attack, so he brought some minions to help him speed up the death process.

From Hip

Going by stories and number of rooms, how big is Castle Koopa?

Bowser is big on renovating, I think so Mario sees something different each visit, so it is often changing. Right now, I think we have something like eight floors (counting the dungeon), and maybe 100 - 110 rooms of various sorts.

From Hip

Does Roy ever pick on any Koopalings other than Larry and Morton? Ludwig overpowers him, Iggy and Lemmy outnumber him, and Roy would never hit Wendy because she's a girl. Is this correct?

Larry and Morton are definitely prime targets, but Lemmy and Iggy are also vulnerable when they're apart. Ludwig has the upperhand, but on occassion Roy will get him too. I have partial immunity because Roy knows I'll scream for Bowser the instant he touches me, but once in a while he'll try it anyway.

From Hip

Why are the leaders of the Axem Rangers and Koopa Bros. both red?

Good question! I'm not sure, but I noticed that Mario, who is generally accepted as the stronger of the Brothers, is also red, and Red Goomba is stronger than Blue Goomba. I guess red things are just strong.

From Hip

When Mario defeats Bowser in Mario 3, who opens the door leading to the princess?

Bowser, by accident. He is so heavy and fell so far, that when he hit the floor below he jarred the lock loose.

From David

Are you sure there are male Yoshis? I mean, as far as I know, they all lay eggs, and only females lay eggs.

Yes, there are male Yoshis. All of them can lay eggs, but only females can lay eggs that contain baby Yoshis.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

What are some of the episodes that you liked in the Mario cartoons?

The episodes with me in them were great, except for the parts where I lost somehow. I really like Fire Sale, from Mario World, and Kootie Pie Rocks was my favorite from Mario 3. I never liked SMBSS too much.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

What do you think of Shy Guys? Do you think they are useful sometimes?

Shy Guys aren't very useful. They're much more interested in pulling stunts and pranks than causing evil. If there weren't so many of them, we wouldn't use them at all.

From Ellie Marie Koopa

What's the Holy Bachelor Pad and what do you do there if you and your sibs are bored?

The Holy Bachelor Pad is our house of worship, like a church or a temple. It's incredibly boring, but there's nothing to do except hope the time passes quickly or fight with each other, and we can do that at home.

From Terry

How can Lemmy be Iggy's twin if Lemmy is the second oldest and Iggy is the fourth?

They're not really twins, but they used to act so much alike that we called them twins.

From Terry

How old are all the Koopalings in the cartoons?

I'm not sure. I mean, I know how old we were when the cartoons were made, but the show's intended ages were never specified.

From Terry

Why isn't Clawdia in the cartoons or the games?

Having a wife would make Bowser look like more of a wimpy family man than he already is. Nintendo wanted to keep him looking evil, and Clawdia didn't mind because she likes it quiet anyway.

From Terry

Why have the Koopalings only appeared in a few games?

Technically speaking, we have appeared in a lot of games. It is rare for a boss, other than a big boss, to appear more than once.

From Terry

How on Plit did Mario become Paper Mario?

He didn't really. All the characters were in their normal 3D form when the story happened, but Nintendo make them look like paper just as a neat visual effect. Nintendo doesn't always tell the stories just as they happen, but our visual portrayal is just a miner detail.

From Guest 256

Why did you use that strange thing with wings in Yoshi's Safari? It was your downfall; you would have won without it!

It's a flying anvil! It looked strong. How was I supposed to know Mario would make it fall on my head?

From Lord Seth

How did Morton, Bowser's father, die?

He was poisoned, I believe. Some say that Bowser did it to steal the throne, but of course he denies it.

From Guest256

Why did you put that canoe there in Mario 3? It gave Mario access to an island full of goodies. Why didn't you remove it from Water Land?

It was my own personal boat. Mario wasn't supposed to break the rock I placed to block the way.

From Hip

According to your bio, you were born in 1994. But in Reptiles in the Rose Garden, Bowser said you were turning sweet 16! How is that possible?

The ages in the cartoons are not acurate. The producers wanted us to be older so that we would seem more intimidating. Also, the time translation between Earth and Plit is odd.

From Hip

How wide are warp pipes? Some appear to be small enough that only a Muncher can fit through, well others are big enough for the doomship. Is there a limit to their size?

As you have just noted, warp pipes can be many sizes... any size, really. However, not every pipe is actually a warp.

From Hip

How fast can someone travel through a warp pipe?

It's very fast, which is why the timer doesn't count down while your warping. However, the pipe also manages to slow you down so you don't come flying out the other end.

From Hip

How much distance does the longest warp pipe cover?

That's hard to say. Many pipes go between planets and dimensions. Particularily between the dimensions, how would you measure that distance? There's not really a limit.

From Videogamerpat

I know every Koopaling has some personallity trait that stands out, but what about Iggy?

Of all the Koopalings, Iggy is the least out going. As you probably know, he used to team up with Lemmy, so for a while he didn't need a personality of his own. He has magic over size, but he doesn't like to use magic too often. He would like to be strong like Roy, but if the past is any indication, that's never going to happen. Basically, Iggy has a little bit at everything. He's not likely to excell in any given area, but he's decent across the board.

From Hip

What is Reznor? Is it a species? Is it the name of the group of the four dinos? Do the individuals have their own names? I'd really like to know a bit more about them please.

Reznor is the name of each of the four dinos, but the group is also called Reznor. It's kind of like how fish is both singular and plural. They are stronger form of Dino-Rhinos and Dino-Torches, and earned Bowser's respect because of it (or maybe because of that bribe, I dunno). Each Reznor has a name, I'm sure, just as each Goomba and Koopa Troopa does. They used their fire power to weaken the bridge below them, hoping Mario would fall in; smart thinking even though it didn't work.

From Hip

Why do you wear such a big bow? Wouldn't it get uncomfortable at times?

Well it is kinda heavy, but my appearance comes first. Isn't it lovely?

From Hip

Why is it that Larry's bedroom is supposedly full of plants, but in Never Koop a Koopa his bedroom has no plants in sight?

I don't recall seeing a bed either. The second-(or third-)rate designers for the cartoon drew only what they needed.

From Hip

What is the doomship capable of firing?

That depends what the doomship is equipped with, of course. The most common things are Bullet Bill Blasters, cannons, and fire shooters, but we can equip all sorts of blasting things.

From Hip

Does the cap that comes out of a ! Block in Mario 64 vary from person to person? When Mario hits a Red ! Block the wing cap that pops out is like his normal cap but with wings. If Luigi hit the Block, would a hat like his with wings pop out? Is it like this for everyone?

I think the hat that pops out will be like the character's original hat, but with wings. However, I'm not sure what happens if the character isn't wearing a hat. I guess there must be some kind of default or something.

From Lord Seth

Larry was the first and easiest boss in Super Mario Bros. 3. Why is he suddenly the final one (excluding Bowser) in Super Mario World?

For Mario 3, the lands were given out based on age, but for Mario World, it was a mixture of which Koopaling managed to get their way, and what Bowser ordered. As one of the weaker Koopalings, Larry didn't get much of a say in his land, and since Bowser also preferred that his youngest stay near him, that's how it ended up.

From Lord Seth

Why are both Roy and Morton's shell color wrong in Super Mario World?

I don't think there's any particular reason. Maybe their attack mode caused problems for the system. It's purely graphical and has nothing to do with the Koopalings themselves.

From Lord Seth

Other than Wart, does Bowser have any siblings?

None that he ever felt like telling me about.

From Lord Seth

Who is Bowser's mother?

Grandma, of course! Well, Bowser never says her name. He always call her Mom, or sometimes Grandma if we're around since that's what we're supposed to call her. Yes, unlike Morton Sr. she is still alive, and you may have seen her in one of the episodes of Mario's original cartoon series.

From Coco

If someone took the mask off a Shy Guy or Snifit, what would they see?

A face, of course! From what I've seen it looks just like any face, with eyes, a mouth, and a small nose. The Snifits' mouth is kind of weird so that they can shoot bullets. They wear masks because they're shy, not because they have a bad face.

From Coco

How come you and your brothers don't have horns like Bowser if he had them when he was a baby?

Horns usually grow in later, but Bowser got his horns earlier than most. I assume it's a freak genetic thing, since we don't have them yet, and Wart (who was originally a Koopa) also had horns that came in at the normal time.

From Coco

Do you think Larry sort of looks like Lemmy and Iggy even if he has blue hair?

Nah, they look different enough when you see them in person. In Mario 3 and World they look similar, but the graphics aren't so good. They are clearly distinct in the manuals, cartoons, and Yoshi's Safari.

From Coco

When your brothers get older, which one do you think will look like Bowser?

Although I personally don't think so, some have told me that Morton already looks a lot like Bowser, aside from that star on his face.

From Hip

Are royal Koopas related to Dogs in any way? Think about it. They both can be aggressive, when some Koopas talk, mainly Boswer, they have a grumbling sound in their voice which sounds similar to a Dog's grumble, Bowser is sometimes used as a Dog's name, and they both have sharp teeth and nails.

You analyze too much. As far as I know, Koopas and Dogs are not related at all.

From Hip

Where would go you on a shopping spree? Be specific.

The closest mall I can get to. I'm not picky about where I do my shopping. Some people care about brand names or cost, but I only care about whether I like it or not, and there is plenty to like at every mall, if only you know the right way to look.

From Hip

What allowances do you and your brothers get?

The allowance we get can vary greatly based on Bowser's mood, especially if he decides not to give any allowance at all based on some offense or his own greed. Most of our spending money comes from the taxes we milk out of our minions.

From Hip

GameCube aside, which one do you like more, X-Box or PS2?

I really don't care, and I hardly like GameCube any better.

From Hip

What's your favorite show? The Home Shopping Network and infomercials don't count.

Haha, very funny. I know those aren't shows. I'd tell you what my favorite show is, but clearly you are not cultured enough to understand, let alone to have ever heard of this show, which plays only on Plit to my knowledge.

From Hip

What are your siblings' favorite episodes of the Mario cartoons?

Why do you think I would know? Ooh, but let me guess, maybe each of them like best an episode in which they starred. Hm, could that possibly be it?

From Hip

Is red or pink your favorite color?

Purple.

From Hip

When you took over Europe, what works of art did you alter other than the ones you mentioned?

Which conquest are you referring to?

From Ninji

Did King Koopa sign the envelope in world 7 of SMB3 with his real name? If he signed the letter "KING OF THE KOOPA", I do not see why he would do this. Is the king of Pipe Land an illiterate simpleton who thought the letter was from the princess, or did he just guess without looking at the envelope, judging by the first six worlds?

I do think that the king of Pipe Land is a simpleton, but the envelope itself looked normal enough. It was pink and the return address was Peach's Castle. There was even a heart drawn on it. The king wouldn't have known anything was up unless he opened Mario's mail.

From Guest256

What size shoes do you wear?

I wear a size 8A, and I like ten-inch heals.

From Arim

What are the IQs of each Koopaling?

We don't have IQ tests on Plit. They don't really tell you much of anything useful anyway.

From Doktor TnT

In Mario 3, the Koopalings' wands were stolen from the kings and used to take over the lands and transform the kings. If the Mario Brothers won back the wands and returned them to the kings, then why do the Koopalings still have the wands?

We have wands, but not the wands you're talking about. We've always had our own, but hey, why use what you've got when you can steal something cooler? We wanted to pretend we were real kings... well, except for me, of course.

From Lord Seth

Why is it that Mario and Luigi can use power-ups, but people like Toad can't?

If you had watched the Mario cartoons, you would know that Toad actually can use power-ups. Koopa can't without help, but most others can.

From Coco

In the cartoons Lemmy only has three strands of rainbow hair, but in the video games and Lemmy's Land, he has full hair like Iggy. What's up with that?

Easier problem first: the Lemmy's Land pictures come from the games, so that explains the hair there. As for the cartoons, three strands of hair was easier to draw than a full set of hair, and it helped make Lemmy and Iggy a little more identifiable.

From Guest256

Is Waluigi real, or did Nintendo just make him up to give Wario a partner?

Oh, he's real alright, the freak of nature. Whoever named him must have been drunk or worse.

From Arim

How do you keep your shell´s spikes from ruining your chair? Special material? Also, couldn´t Lemmy´s claws pop his own ball?

You're right, our furniture is made out of tough material, as is Lemmy ball. Between that and the caution we take, we don't rip up too many things.

From jopi@prodigy.net

I read in this site the Koopas use coins for money, but then I read something about dollars being used for money. Which one do the Koopas use for money?

We use gold coins for money. Sometimes authors will refer to them as dollars just so that readers easily recognize the currency.

From JRboy101@aol.com

Does Dark Land get yearly seasons?

Yes, summer, winter, spring, and fall. The weather is fairly normal, except that it is always dark. Strangely enough, the lack of a visible sun does not effect the temperature.

From Guest256

In SMRPG, it rains when Mallow meets his parents. How  is that possible if they are above the clouds?

It would be kind of difficult for it to rain in Nimbus Land. However, it's not actually raindrops but tears that fall on Mario. Mallow cries so far that his tears propel upwards from his eyes, taking the appearance (but not the taste) of rain. Mallow was lucky to be standing near a chimney when he cried in Nimbus Land, or else he would have flooded the palace.

From delynn1000@msn.com

Do Koopalings sleep in a bed or do they just sort of lay on their stomachs on the floor?

We sleep in a bed, of course. I recently answered a question explaining why we can sit in a chair without our spikes destroying it. The same applies for beds. If you played Paper Mario, we ;pok like Tubba Blubba in how we sleep.

From Emperor Koopatine

Does Wario actually own any independant land of his own or does he just own estates?

As far as I know, Wario just owns estates. He has a big castle, but I've never heard of him ruling over anything. Besides, Wario is much more interested in money than power. If he owned a kingdom he'd probably sell it.

From Emperor Koopatine

How come the Koopas have such a bad history with the Yoshis?

If you've ever played Yoshi's Island or Yoshi's Story, you should know the answer to this. In Yoshi's Island, the Yoshis were attacked and nearly killed while trying to save Baby Mario. Although Baby Bowser himself had little to do with this (he thought Yoshi was a green donkey and wanted to ride him), the Koopa Empire was behind it. In Yoshi's Story Baby Bowser cast a spell on all the Yoshis, except for eight which escaped and managed to defeat them. These two episodes are more than enough to cause a rift between Koopas and Yoshis, and there are many more like these that have not appeared in games.
